The halfling seemed to be mischievous and running with purpose but otherwise didn't seem in fear of his life. Hard to tell from here but the man seems to be a little annoyed by a lack of answer about the halflings whereabouts. It's a private matter. I'll not go airing my dirty laundry to every passerby. Just point me in the direction of the cretin and I'll be on my way.

Torsus seemed to watch the whole scenario play out. His assumption based on what was going on, was that the Halfling had stolen the dagger, considering the significant difference between his attire and appearance compared to it. But Depending on the circumstances, such theft might just be reasonable, or even encouraged. He had mixed feelings on it as by delaying the man, if he had truly been wronged would only harm him, but if the halfling was in the right, then delaying this man would prove beneficial. To the others, it would look like a hundred cogs were turning in his head before he finally turned to the man and spoke simultaneously to his mind and with his mouth, using Thaumaturgy to create a third layer of his own voice (only two of which could be heard by the others)
I Agree with our cleric. I would wish to aid you should it prove he wronged you, however should you have been up to devious ends against the man then we have reason to aid him. So tell me Friendhe said weaving the spell into his words Air out your dirty laundry so that we may make this entire situation right.
Following the initial encounter, which had left Narz both confused and annoyed, what came after he left to the other devices upon discovering it to appear as a simple personal spat. That said, after having made his way over to Vigo's side to get saddle and armor situated for the new day, a wary eye is occasionally turned upon the exchange. A look Vigo too shared of the new arrival. But like a good Worg, he kept any commentary to himself.
A thought then occurs to Narz. He sends a telepathic message to Spaz, giving him the mission of covertly scampering off into the brush after the halfling to make sure he had more than mischievous intentions and lurked about the area. Rillex, meanwhile, continues indolently laze about atop Vigo's head, not really giving two shits about the whole affair.

Good, ill teach that bastard a lesson about sleeping with another man's wife!He then stalks off into the woods heading west. Its not long until he is gone completely. Rillex and Spaz both give each other curious looks before looking intently at the back od the cart. You all hear a Phew! Thanks a bunch fellas! I'm starting to think he actually may have wanted to kill me! And to think all those years of friendship we shared! Guess they don't count for squat! Oh sorry how rude. The halfling dispells his invisibility and you all see that he is standing in the cart leaning over the edge looking west. He finally turns to you all and says Well thanks a bunch! Bah nonsense! I never touched his wife! He's just upset because the kid looks nothing like him, doesn't mean its mine! Sure he's got my eyes, my nose, my hair, and my feet, but it doesn't prove a thing! The halfling pauses and puts a hand on the back of his head. Ah yes...about that. I may have been a little....less than truthful. I don't actually have any coin, not on me anyway. Its all home, in Waterdeep. You're all going to Waterdeep yeah? No other reason to be on the road this time of year unless you're headed for the big city. Tell ya what, I'll tag along for the ride and when we arrive first stop will be home for that sack of gold. I'll even throw in a little extra for the hassle. Sounds fair right? Wouldn't want to anger my new, heavily armed friends after all now would I!The halfling gives a half-hearted chuckle at that and looks around to gage the room.
Torsus look at the halfling with a bit of annoyance as he tries to read into everything he says, to see if it seems like this halfling was little more than a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, .. or in lamens terms in case the DM doesn't understand... if the gold is a myth and the man intends to simply 'use' the party again, or if perhaps he was being genuine. After the halfling had ceased talking however, he would out of curiosity inquire about the dagger as he twiddled his thumbs. Mm I'll let my heavily armed friends decide if they wish to inform you of where we are going. But that is quite the fine dagger you posess, though it looks like a rose in a pile of hay -no offense- but your appearance is not one that would lend immediate believability that one such as yourself would come to possess it, outside of either theft, luck, and such.

Torus it seems he's being truthful about the lack of gold on him which by his looks are no surprise. He definitely seems the type to use people though you can tell he seems sincere about having gold for you in Waterdeep, however if thats to keep his own skin, or to entice you into some scheme is hard tonsay one way or the other, likely both. The halfling feigns offense and says What me? A thief? Never. This is a family heirloom, a gift from my Nana in Calimport in honor of my leaving for Waterdeep. Granted Nana was indeed a thief and a good one too, but the dagger has been in the family for years. And believe me despite my current appearance I've quite the coin to my name, things have just been ah...a little difficult recently is all. Cut backs lets say.
