"As I said, to properly apologize for having... stepped on your toes our first meeting." Aeyd explains solemnly. "You see, I'm not the best at... talking, and I feel as if I must have misunderstood your intentions with your head clearing walks at night for dishonesty... "I am very sorry."
She lifts her head and continues. "Speaking of giant activity though, I am hoping now you can rest assured that my compatriots here are aiming to help with that."There's a small smile on her face when she gestures over the group. "Perhaps you can help us somehow? Since you've been walking around the walls often, would you happen to have come across any weaknesses in the towns defenses at all?"

Narz just sits back in his seat and appeared unbothered by the look of suspicion. Although if Shalvus had suddenly run off....
But, such a thing never comes about, so he kept to listening and go back to feeding Spaz scraps. Every now and then a look goes out to the others, or towards the door of the bar. Although the reason is hardly clear on his face. "Possible weaknesses, even if it appears to not be much. For a crack worked even by a goblin is bound to grow into something worse, eh?"

Shalvus shifts to sit more comfortably in his seat but otherwise doesn't seem taken back by the question. He simply shrugs and says I haven't really paid attention to walls, so I can't say I've noticed anything unusual.
Insight: 12. (Using Saving Face if entire party is within 30ft of Narz, adding a +5 to the roll.)
But, he says nothing at the immediate time, still processing anything and everything picked up in that moment. It is however that he looked at Shalvus with greater interest, and left Spaz with keeping a general eye on the place.

Perception: 6
Having taken off all of his supplies, sans-whatever he'd need for casting, leaving them in the room (where urb can't revenge steal them for what happened in TNEJ) Torsus comes down, unaware of what's going on. A bit peckish, and apparently completely oblivious to his companions existence, walks up to the bar. Whether the bard was still playing there or not or whatever else may be going on at the time. He takes a seat at the bar itself, slowly working himself there, making sure the stool itself won't break before looking up to the Yeti (assuming he's there) or anyone else who seems 'staffy' to ask them for an order of corn, lettuce, and if possible, some chicken, thinly sliced and cooked on a grill.
The Yeti is indeed at the bar and gladly provides the requested food. Here you are. Chicken is fresh, cut as thinly as possible.
Meanwhile back at the table Shalvus begins to think, or to Narz's mind feign thinking, before saying Sorry, nothing comes to mind. I'm just a simple shepard, town defenses aren't something im familiar with. Sorry. Though, suppose if I did need to make a suggestion, I'd make shelters for people to flee too should the town be attacked. That way the common folk don't have to get caught up in the fighting.
For the first time, the Yeti would see Torsus eyes sparkle with expectation. it had been so long since he last had had a good chicken salad. Even if the dressing was missing, it tasted almost as good to him either way. Using whatever utensils were provided to bring each meaty, leafy mouthful he could casually crunch on, as the butter soaked into his corn to better flavor it. After the first bite, Torsus seemed in bliss very similarly to a scaredy cat halfling in some other world. And after wach bite, the tortle would seem to pause, as if to saver the afterglow of the flavor.
Finally, after eating half of his bowl, he took the cob within his mouth, and with the least haste anyone had ever seen, he began to eat a few buttery nibbles at a time, even as Narz, Aeyd, and sleepyhead Rollo dealt with the Shady Shepherd.
Having had enough, Narz leans forwards in his seat a bit, and steeples his fingers together. Narz tries to do the same, but can only manage the leaning forward bit. "An excellent suggestion. But one that hopefully need not be followed up on should you, respectfully, either decide to trust we have the town's interest best and speak truthful on our prior questions, or by the nine give a very, very good reason why fear to do so. Because right now, all I can see that slight fidget, elevated heart rate-" He flicks at his own sharp ears. "And refusal to fully meet either of our gaze as you wishing to hide something quite important to keeping this place safe... Or, are you going to tell me I'm wrong. In which case, I will be forced to bring the matter forward formally to the guard, who I'm sure will love to hear in these trying times there is a citizen willfully endangering others.

Shalvus squirms a little in his chair, clearly feeling uncomfortable. He looks like he's about to speak when you hear a suddenly a mighty yell shatters the night’s silence. We’re under attack! the voice calls out. To arms! To arms! Gathering their wits the few people remaining in the inn head outside, Shalvus stands and follows. Those of you who wish to follow do so. A low mist blankets the quiet gardens to the north and slinks between the rows of darkened longhouses to the south. A small figure stumbles around the corner of the nearest longhouse, loses his balance, and falls. You have never seen such a clumsy, disheveled halfling. Oren stands and brushes himself off, pointing back towards the east. Just at the edge of town and closing in fast you see a group of goblins supported by bug bears and Ogres closing in.
Everyone Roll initatives.
Each of you will be given a special NPC to control on combat as well. For simplicity sake they'll share your initiative. If they have a higher initiative roll than you feel free to use theirs instead of yours.
Aeyd's brows raise at Narz's words and she opens her mouth to say something, yet she is cut off by the yelling. Immediately, she gets to her feet and follows behind the shepherd.

Narz/Naxene's Initiative: 13.
Narz perked up at the sounds of alarm, but hadn't let Shalvus fully out of sight. Not until the man rushed out to join the rest outside to defend the town, forcing him to stand and promptly follow the rest out. Seeing eventually what he sees outside, Narz is immediately looking for Shalvus again, and glares in suspicion at the man.

Happily munching on the last of his meal, Torsus is in his own personal bliss when a shout even his perception couldn't miss rang through, despite his obliviousness to all else. Clearing his throat in a hitched fashion, and taking up the nearest mug if he didn't have his own, while hoping for water... simply wished to wash down his last morsel with. Sighing, but excited at the same time, he collects himself enough to say as loudly as possible, without shouting.. [Yeti characters name] i'm sorry for burdening you, but try to get everyone you can to some sort of shelter... preferably underground if possible.. perhaps your cellar. And barricade the door to all but those whom with, you are familiar. inflecting the last few lines as he too made his way out, noticing for the first time his allies and his happiness for the fortuitousness of that fact, but saying nothing as he went outside as everyone else seemed to be doing. Nodding as he felt Claire's blessing before she departed.
Clearing his throat as he reached for the necessary components, and wishing he hadn't left his shield in the bedroom... but glad he kept his other more important effects on him at all times... began a swift chant on himself, before beginning to fly as high up, and in the direction that the bard was coming from as possible. Trying to get an aerial view of the battle field.
Meanwhile Lifferlas, having been preparing for whatever it was he would be doing at this hour faintly hears the shout, and for a moment, he considers using his false appearance, however, there was a chance no enemy would come near... and he wouldn't allow the people of Goldenfields to become no more than corpses if he could help it. And though it aches his boles and knots, he stood tall, and with all his speed 'charged' in a way some would call dashing his full forty feet towards the commotion, raising his voice as loud as he could in an attempt to attract atleast some of his foes attention towards the 'giant ass mobile tree' and any children he saw along the way (hopefully none) he'd tell them to flee in the opposite direction he was running as he passed them.

As you're all preparing for a fight you hear the cries of panicked animals from across the way. Torsus can see that a another group of invaders has reached the animal pens around the same time as this current group has started approaching the town. The goblins are currently crawling through the fences while the ogres and a hill giant encroach from the rear. From this position he can also see a giant and some ogres wandering around the wheat fields to the south. They seem to be trying to corral another group of goblins who seem to have gotten lost in the wheat. Thankfully it seems the golbin mercs are already approaching from the abbey. With Lifferlas awake three trees shudder and shake before standing tall, revealing themselves to be Treants. One turns and heads into the wheat fields while one runs towards the animal pens. The final one remains by the road to the Inn ready to defend the village.
