Narz much more subtly grins at Dakkurz assessment. It would still take a truly committed host, seeing as the Goldenfields were so out of the way of any known goblinoid stronghold. But in many ways as far as the hoboglin wizard could tell, the defenses were still lacking for so strategic location. Holding it, however... -- Narz shook his head, dismissing the line of thought.
"If only things were so simple." Narz responded to Aeyd before turning back to Dakkurz. "We will do our best to secure them, though it will be easier said then done. Short of the local druids having powerful sleeping drafts, we can probably convince one to knock out the other at the very least, eh? But--" He turns on Strog. "Captain Strog. Where might we take them for holding at least until the morning?"

The Captain seems to forget or move in from the insults from Dakkurz, turning to look and size up the giants. Well, the other prisoners are going to be executed and if these are going to help us I think its best they stay seperate. Besides, they wouldn't fit in the few cells we have. I'll assign a guard to them and they can wait near my tower by the brewery.
Narz returned the Captain's words with a curt bow, appearing to accept them without question. Yet, bushy brows would become knitted together a few seconds after; a new question blooming, and a suggestion igniting at the tip of the tongue. Narz knew better, figuring the moment to be poor, and resources likely too limited to suggest more of the captain. So again, he curtly bowed again before saying, "We'll see about escorting them over there then. And if need be, as it is a non-Zero chance only one should suffice, the first to get rowdy on watch can be dispatched at your men's leisure. Or so I may, with due respect, suggest." He'd say.
After which, Narz made his way back to the giants, and in giantish notified them at least of where they would be staying for the night, and the importance of continuing to be cooperative.

Both giants reluctantly agree, convinced that its in their best interest to lead the party to their home but still worried for their lives. Captain Thunderblade and some of his men escort the giants to where they'll be held.
Meanwhile Dakkurz waits for the Captain to be out of sight to make a rude gesture his direction. Bah, what a blow hard. Anyway, I need to search the battlefield for my little traitor. I'll come see you guys at the inn later. Perhaps younshould go see the Abbot or maybe check on the other survivors that seem to be gathering at the inn. Whatever you do see to it you get some reward. You've certainly earned it. The Mercenary captain walks off with a wave leave you all to your own devices.
With Narz saying what needed to be said before the tortle could say it, and with the procession on its way, the giants being led away and all that, Torsus would say to those still gathered. Well, that certainly went better than expected. I'm glad I managed to convince them to lead us to their leader. I even made them think we would be a boon to their fight, so that we may enter the place without resistance atleast until we choose to create that resistance. It will allow us to set the battlefield upon favorable terms for us. But yes, as Dakkurz has said, our best bet is to check in, and learn more of the situation we may yet be aware of, rest, and prepare for our trip.
With that, Torsus began an extremely casual walk as he clutched his chest-region, where Rollo had collided, and began to walk to where the Inn was, his breaths coming out a little heavier than usual, now that the adrenaline... among other things, had run their course.
"Mn. And may you find your traitor just alive enough for his overdue punishment."Narz called after the Mercernary. At Torsus claims soon after, the hobgoblin lofted a brow. Yet, as he watched the Tortle more or less try to walk off his injuries, something clicks in mind that leaves him staring narrowed eyed for a second or two at him, before closing them and shaking his head. Wordlessly, he followed after now more grimly self-assured of steps in need of taking in the future, and with Vigo dutifully following in his wake. Although, if they come across in goblin corpses along the way, the Worg is quick to snap them up as a well deserved snack for all the extra work.

Vigo stays behind to enjoy his snack, the various goblin corpses being quite pleasing to his palate. When you all make it to the monestary you're greeted by a scene of Chaos. Farmers, woman and children and monks in their habits are everywhere. The monks try to keep everyone orderly and calm though despite their efforts several people still seem visibly upset. Among the crowd is the Abbot, looking like he just woke up. He tries to assure people that the worst of it is over and that they can all return to their homes after a search of the grounds has been completed. This seems to help the mood in the room overall. When he sees you enter the monestary he excuses himself and approaches.
Thank Chauntea you're alright. What news have you? My guards report the enemy was in retreat? Is this true?
Narz curtly nods and let almost a smile reach his lips before putting back on the more professional air. "That is the truth of the matter as we too know it, and no small effort, as you can rightly tell, eh? But, thanks in part to both myself and my.. allies-" He said, just barely catching himself on the last word. "-as well as Goldenfields own defenders of course, we were able to settle things down once more. Although by all accounts, without the preparations made throughout the week, the damage and casualties would've been far, far worse, sir, if you can believe it." He explained.
"We were also able to capture a pair of giants though. Knuckleheads really, but the leader of the raiding party. However, upon interrogation, we did learn of their head huncho above them, and would use them to get close to said leader, if at all possible. As you do, eh? A wave of relief washes over the Abbot at the news. Thank goodness. I fear without you people this would have been little more than a massacre. You're heros, all of you. I uh, don't have anything to reward you with just yet, but I'll be sure to find someway to repay you before you leave. As for these prisoners of yours, well, frankly I'd feel safer if they were simply put down. But if you think they can lead you to an even bigger threat then by all means, if you feel its a course worth pursuing go for it. My main worry right now is shoring up our defenses, I'll have to have the Castellan send word to Waterdeep asking for more soldiers. But for now I'll get these people back to their homes, if its truly safe that is.
Torsus personally doesn't feel in good enough health to speak to a castello, let alone an abbot. He wanted to sleep off his injuries as soon as possible. That didn't mean, however, that he had no intention of checking on the situation in general along the way or even when he got there. Whether he simply didn't notice or didn't care that he had eyes on the back of his head was hard to tell as he limped his way (despite no leg injury) towards the Inn itself. He would passively look around for anyone and observe them but unless they seemed distraught beyond normal he wouldn't bother to stop until he reached the Inn. His shell seeming to have a hairline crack across the front (ala Rollo) and every step forced a breath out of him throatily.
Torsus, when you get back to the inn you find Zi and Naxene hovering over Oren.
Oh quit your belly aching young man. You'll be fine, Naxene chastises. Oren looks bloody but alive, he's definitely over reacting. Oh they've killed me! They've killed me I say! Zi! Only a kiss from a beautiful maiden will ease my pain. Zi shakes her head in annoyance. Next time I'm leaving you out there.
Miros meanwhile notices you and welcomes you with a cold beer. Ah My friend! Thank you for your help, you and your friends certainly pulled through. Have a round on me! Are you hungry? I can whip something up for ya too, free of charge!
Looking at the scene, despite his now known pains, he can't help but let out a breathless chuckle, and decides.. that the likelihood of 'another 'attack this night was low, and expending his energies one more time, and around the pair a carbon copy of Naxene pulls away from the actual one, leaning down to give Oren a seductive kiss he will never feel as the greater illusion can copy all but a true sense of touch, and he will allow it to play out in a way where the image responds to Orens requests, though should Oren ask to see Naxene naked, he will find beneath her robes the ripped and chiseled body of a man with 'barbie' traits, so as to not frustrate Naxene overmuch.
Noticing then that Miros was speaking to him, there is some hesitation as he looks at the beer, wondering if he should pass it and head to his chambers to rest or accept the offer. Hungry however was the last thing Torsus was though. The pause would likely seem awkwardly long for Miros himself before the Tortle slowly shuffled hi way to the bar, carefully making his way onto the stool or chair, and resting his head in his hands to fight away the exhaustion that was creeping into him. I appreciate the offer. Give me a moment to collect my breath. In the middle of a fight my body seems to hardly notice, but once the combat is over, specially after having a man as large as Rollo slam into me... I feel winded, more than usual. as if to accentuate his point, his next breath came out as a throat-wheeze near the end of his exhalation.
A full minute passing before he would pull himself to a true sitting position, and with a few words and a wave of his hand a magical hand would appear, to pick up the mug and aid him in drinking it. Apologies for any injuries any of you suffered. But I have good news, I managed to trick one of the giants into leading my group within the depths of their power hold unperterbed. We will be setting out in a day or two. Hopefully we can end the threat to your town this way, by cutting off the head of the hyd... well the head. Hydra would be a poor choice of words. he said as the hand brought the mug to his lips once more, where he gulped down several more times, like a man who'd found an oasis.
(And not sure how I did it, but I managed to miss so many updates. Sorrey!)
"Well it's like I said, bit of a team effort, but the word of thanks is appreciated. And believe me when I say that the feeling is mutual regarding the prisoner. If nothing else, though it may be somewhat more risky at a later point, we can always dispatch them upon at least locating any stronghold, and returning with news on its location. That way at least Waterdeep, and any other allied forces of your in contact with have something to work with when things eventually escalate. For I don't expect the problem with the giants to calm soon." Narz calmly admits, then slightly bows his head. "Sorrey. Don't mean to bring things down. We'll leave you to it, but be sure to return in the morning, eh?"
At that point Narz would look to athers that had gone with him, affirming . But even none had come, a look goes to the rest of the room to take in the distraught before shaking his head. "Hn... Until the morning." At that, Narz turned intended to take his leave, but paused for a second. "... Just so you are aware as well in case Shalvus has or does come by, Abbot. Be wary of that one, I think. Reports came in about the goblins having attempted to use a weakness in the defense... one they expected."

Oren opens his eyes in time to see Naxene approach and suddenly all his energy returns as he quickly backs away, avoiding the illusion in time. It would seem Naxene was not the fair maiden he had in mind. Zi giggles at the spectacle while Naxene looks are less amused. With a wave of her hand the illusion fades but she seems to ignore the misuse of her image, for now at least.
Miros pours an ale for himself and leans on the table across from Torsus. He gives the sight of Orens distress an amused chuckle before taking a sip. I see. And you think you can trust them? Well, its your neck on the line I suppose. Though if they can lead you to their home it would be a relief to heard they were defeated. If you need provisions before you go make sure to see me. Ah but for now we should eat, drink and rest. For you I'd recommend rest.
Outside: The Abbot nods in approval at the first part about a team effort but his look of appreciation soon changes to confusion. Shalvus? Why, it seems unlikely he would be aiding the giants if thats what you're implying. It is my understanding the goblin mercenaries had a deserter among the enemy. Could it not be the giants learned of this weakness from them? Or perhaps as dear Rollo suggests they simply scouted their objective, though I shudder to think there's someone else leading them.
Torsus too can't help but chuckle at the sight. Oren was a drama queen but... he was a bard, so... regardless it had shown Orens condition for what it was and Torsus had finished his drink by the time the man had spoken of rest. Yes, rest sounded good, but he felt compelled to explain his meaning further, regardless. As I am doing to you now, I spoke to their minds and managed a rather similar tone and pattern to their own. Luckily when speaking to the mind language ceases to be a barrier, so I took advantage of this fact and made the dumb creature think it was his own idea. To 'Bring the strong people' into the fold, as it were. Make us their 'allies' and thus gain favor with their leader for doing it. Unfortunately such tactics can only work on the stupid. then speaking aloud but not 'loudly' he finished his sentence with People oft forget there are more ways to fight than just 'hitting something until it stops moving' he said, giving a wink.
Narz nods subtly both to Rollo's point, and then again to the Abbots. "Defenses were, with all do respect, certainly lacking in many an area upon our arrival. And this despite the strategic value of Goldenfields to the more major settlement -- city of Waterdeep, if not others, should I mistaken. I cannot comment about the deserters having known anything, as I know not the timing off the top of my head of when they left. Which is rather unfortunate, eh?" The corner of Narz' lips twitch for just a second or two upwards in a smirk.
"That being said, the man was exceptionally twitchy during an interview earlier this evening. Unfortunately, or rather timely, the raid interrupted the interview, so the verdict is still out in that regards... Yet odds do favor him, especially considering this attack was headed by foolish hill giants. Even so, I would exercise some caution in his regards all the same, as one cannot be too careful. Good be they had something on him. Or could be I am just jumping at shadows, as the humans like to call it, eh? In any event, I bid you good evening sir." At that, he bows one last time before heading back for the Inn. Along the way he sends Spaz off to go retrieve Vigo, making sure he knew to return to the Inn sooner than later, on the off chance passing guard get antsy.

Good be they had something on him. Or could be I am just jumping at shadows, as the humans like to call it, eh? In any event, I bid you good evening sir."
