Rollo just sits, content to let the others do the talking for now. As more people come into the inn and speak with them the tension that was released in him yesterday begins to drop over his face like a mask.

Torsus blasts the insolent maggot child for daring to touch him.
Torsus about to enter, and only making it in enough to be oggled by Aeyd momentarily, raises his brows at the likely rain-soaked child who had, admittedly caught him off guard. His attention had been elsewhere still. Listening with pursed lips, and wondering what the female tree could possibly have to say so suddenly. Torsus takes a moment to look where the grove was and, though still mentally exhausted, lets a smile slip through the stoic veneer. Casting a spell on himself, before hoisting the child into his arms. Then let us go to him. And enjoy this experience, for it will likely be the only time you get to - most likely. He said before launching from the 'porch' and flying towards the grove, the child carefully held so they wouldn't slip and fall as he did soft maneuvers in the air (To reduce g force and thus prevent an unfortunate accident) but also allow the experience to be a bit wilder than simply 'floating a direction'
(To xJoe: Not sure if we even know about the deal without probably some really good hearing. But I could be wrong.)
Narz nods in return to the elf before returning to breakfast. Although he pauses, thinking back to the company, and almost -- ALMOST grins at the strange turn of events that led to his alliance. Before he can contemplate on that further however, the hobgoblin found himself looking to Naxene interested, if not a bit concerned at the tidings.
"I take it, respectfully, that this is in regards to your research regarding the giant situation, eh?" He asked, leaning forward just a tad and would listen with rapt attention.
To the party in the inn: Naxene takes a seat and clears her throat. You are correct sir. I fear this attack on Goldenfields is simply just the beginning, and a rather small incident in the grand scheme of things to come. I may have mentioned before that I've heard news of giant attacks elsewhere in the North. Nightstone was nearly destroyed last month and I've heard a small settlement Northeast of here was also destroyed recently. However its not just the dumb hill giants you soneasily dispatched. Fire, cloud, stone, storm and ice giants have been causing havoc from Daggerfall to the Spine of the World. Now is not the time for half measures, action must be taken, and the Lords Alliance is in the best position to do something about it. I believe I have a plan but I'll need your help, as it stands I'll be needed here to help defend the settlement should further attacks occur.
Naxene waves over Miros who brings her a fresh cup of tea which she takes a few sips from before continuing. I've been reading on ancient battles between giants and their mortal enemies, dragons. I think it is there we will find our best chance of victory should there be all out war between giants and small folk. If you can contact a powerful dragon, preferably one of the metallic variety, and convince it to get other good dragons to support our cause, well I think it will save a lot of lives in battles to come. Now before you ask, no, I don't know where you can find a dragon but I do have a friend in Waterdeep who's something of an expert when it comes to the scaled creatures. So I propose you head to Waterdeep, head to the corner of Immar Street and Tower March. Once there you'll see a stone tower, the home of my friend Chazlauth Yarghorn, and ask for his aid in locating a dragon. Like myself he is also a member of the Lords Alliance and should be able to provide you with all the backing you'll need to undertake such a task, coin, armor, spells, men. Once you've found a good dragon make a deal and convince them to bring others to our cause so we can push the giants back into their strongholds and protect the north. Will you do this for me friends?
For Torsus: The child seems afraid at first but quickly fear turns to excitement as he realizes what's happening. Once you've landed the child laughs excitedly and and asks to go again but Lifferlas appears and bids the child to go home and get out of the rain. The child begrudgingly obeys and the Treant moves closer before settling next you you, his leaves blocking the rain. Thank you for coming my friend. I have a favor to ask of you, one that may help you as well. You see there was a time long ago where I was but a simple tree, grown from a sapling right here in Goldenfields. Then one day, a druid put a hand on my trunk and suddenly I was as I am now. My creator was a powerful druid as well as a member of the Emerald Enclave. He slew many giants in his youth, as during his time they proved to be a contant threat. His name was Aerglas, and he left Goldenfields some 30 years ago on a pilgrimage to Shadowtop Cathedral. He never did return, though I feel he is still alive. If you could find him, I'm sure he could aid you in this conflict with the giants.
There are two things Narz prided himself most oftenly for: Self-Discipline and Insightfulness. In spite of feeling as if the latter had been failing him somewhat of late, he could always count on the former to make sure that any reaction of his would be a mostly measured one: even in uncomfortable or exciting situations. Which is why to his later shame upon reflecting on the moment, the offer of support from an organization long held as formidable by kin and countrymen alike left him a bit wide-eyed, and for a second or two longer than appropriate. Even when his lips parted to answer Naxene's question, not a word left from still trying to process the offer.
But if left to his own devices, then after a few seconds, he awkwardly clear his throat, and lean back in his seat. "From what I understand of dragons, which admittedly, is largely from an academic perspective, parlaying with one will not be easy. Even with their mortal enemies involved in all this. But as most city born folk tend to say, 'Beggers can't quite be choosers, eh?'" He said, the corner of his lips almost turning upward in a grin. "After learning a bit more from the giants we captured last, and summarily dispatching them, I can see no reason why we cannot return there." He glances to a window. "Once the weather improves, preferably. But, I imagine time isn't entirely on our side. Things will only get worse before it gets better."

AirGlass hmm. Aerglas. Torsus says, chewing on the name, likely an exercise to help him remember the name. Watchign as the child ran off in the rain to wherever their home was, somewhat saddened that the rain had ceased on him but also understanding that Lifferlaas was likely used to dealing with beings that didn't enjoy the rain. Besides, a drop or two slipped through now and then regardless. But then came the obvious question in this situation Where is this Cathedral? We shall be heading out, I expect, within the next day .. two at the most... he said, not looking at Lifferlas, chin resting in his palm as one of his fingers taps his jaw. His other hand idly caressing his other, less seen 'trinkets' that likely the rest of the group were unaware of.
So long as it is along the way or not far off from our destination my allies may be persuaded, though I fear the fact that he hasn't been seen since makes those odds lower. Regardless, I shall, at the very least, take heed and see where this may go. Though I suppose I should also ask of you two things: First, is there any message you wish to relay to him? The odds of us returning here are abysmal and this may be your only chance. And two, I have gained a power that requires.... a gem of some worth.. or so it told me do you know where one might be, or perhaps do you have one that I can trade for what I have managed to earn this far?
Torsus is trying to aquire a gem values at atleast three hundred GP.
To others: Naxene nods and seems to relax. Yes well, it is my understanding there is little to no organization on the giants part as of yet and that they are even fighting amongst themselves. This has worked in our favor as they've been slow to inactive any plans they might have.. as it stands the attacks that have occurred have all been attacks of opportunity from the sounds of it. Even this attack on Goldenfields reeks of opportunism. Thus I'd recommend looking into all potential sources of aid, though I trust you'll use your judgment when considering where to go next. Regardless, yes I don't suspect it will be easy to convince a dragon but with the backing of the Lords Alliance I'm sure you'll be able to come to a deal.
To Torsus: Lifferlas gives a bit of a shurg amd says I have never been there so I don't know where it is exactly. Just that Aerglas intended to follow the Dessarin River to the High Forest. I'm led to believe that the cathedral remains hidden from those it doesn't deem worthy of finding it, but I believe the opposite is also true. Thus when you are there the path should become clear to you. Once there seek out a Treant named Turlang. That is who Aerglas was to meet and he should know where my creator is. When you find Aerglas, bid him to aid you, at my request. If he will not then ask him to return home please. And I'm sorry but I know not where you can find a gem such as that.
Torsus shrugs at the last part, not really expecting Lifferlas to, but also knowing that you will never get an answer to a question you don't ask. Hrmmm. Allright then. I shall keep all of this in mind. I may not be able to convince my allies, but I will atleast inform them. Perhaps I will even strike out on my own if needbe. Circumstances depending. Regardless, I wish you well Lifferlas. Keep watch over this place, for you never know if last night will happen again.
Giving a final nod, and lingering only long enough for Lifferlas to respond if he had any final words, Torsus once again lifts himself aloft, with another spell, and flies back to the establishment that is run by a hairy man.
Narz nodded faintly in approval at Rollo's comment but kept his eyes on Naxene. In listening, the hobgoblin eventually leaned back in his seat, absently putting fingers to work brushing his beard between thumb and forefinger. But, it is until well after she finishes that Narz nodded and came around to her point. Although he still intended to probe the minds of their giant captives all the same, as any intel there could only better the group in the long run.
"Even in the worst case scenario, goading dragons more into taking their own actions can only benefits us, eh?" He'd say. "But just in case. Do you have something we can take as proof, or intend to magically reach out to this other agent ahead of us?"

If you tell him I sent you he'll speak to you no problem. He's not exactly the suspicious short. That said I'll see about sending a letter via carrier bird ahead of you though it won't be able to go out in this weather.
As Naxene settles herself down at the table, Aeyd sets aside her meal for now, wanting to ensure she wouldn't miss any details due to any distractions with her food. She leans in and listens intently as the woman speaks of various other attacks on towns and cities from other giants. She gnaws at her bottom lip in thought, brows furrowed, only to cease her actions when Naxene mentions utilizing the assistance of a dragon. The monk's lips part, then close as she sits back in her seat.
There's a light chuckle that escapes her at Rollo's enthusiasm before her expression returns stern. "Convincing a dragon to aid in stopping the giants would be quite the feat... We would need to be very convincing, along with many other things..."She trails off, then glances over to Narz, her visage softening slightly with a shrug. "But as you said; Beggar's can't be choosers. We should advise Claire and Tor--"
She cuts herself off when she catches Torsus off the corner of her eye. "Speaking of which! Good to see you again Torsus, we have much to fill you in on, but first I should go get Claire." The monk gets up from her place, takes a few steps forward then stops, then turns back a bit sheepishly and asks. "Actually... Would anyone know where she is?"
(Not entirely sure how Torsus would arrive so feel free to ignore the first few sentences if he enters a different way! Regardless though still asks about Claire's whereabouts)

Torsus bursts through the window in an explosion of shrapnel-glass just to mess up Aeyd's sentences
Torsus brings himself down on the 'porch' before walking in slowly. Catching Aid's greeting, and returning it with a bow of the head, for that instant, not feeling like returning it verbally. Even as Aeyd gets up to fetch Claire, before realizing she had fallen for one of the classic blunders! Torsus shook his head in the negative though as she asked her question No, I haven't seen the lass since she refused to heal me the night before. There was a tinge of frustration on his voice but no more than an old man complaining about the cashier not accepting his coupons in the store. And I haven't heard of where she might be through any grape vines. his eyes turn to the rest of the group, as if to prompt them to say if they knew anything or not before adding in But if you've much to inform me of, I'll wait until you return to share mine own news. As I have been informed of a potential ally who could aid us. But I also don't wish to repeat the details. My jaw is feeling rather tired this morning. A light went on in Torsus' head, as if he'd utterly forgotten everything he just said could have been done telepathically, and he visibly shrunk, sighing at his own ineptitude but ultimately shaking it off.
Torsus made his way to the nearest chair to the gathering, to sit and wait for Aeyd's return.
Rollo stands up. "She's probably with her horse. Loves that thing more than she loves people. And she really loves people." He says as he moves too the exit. On the way out he pats Torsus on the shell. "Cheer up my reptilian friend, plenty more fights like that one on their way soon enough!"

Narz quirked a brow in the closest thing to visible surprise at Torsus. Not so much regarding the news, but the fact he hadn't attempted to speak into their mind. 'Perhaps he's learning, or perhaps...' He let thought trail off there still leery of the limits of Torsus' abilities and connection. His eyes do narrow for a second after the fact at the word "potential ally" out of Torsus. The hobgoblin's however promptly went neutral again, as a very obvious point comes to mind.
"Is that so? Tymora seems to be in a rather good mood, eh? As we've too, if you can believe it, have just been informed of another ally awaiting us back in Waterdeep, as well as a potential avenue to help at least mitigate the giant threat." He said first to Torsus. Then glancing back to Aeyd, the hobgoblin adds, "And if not with your horse, then... Last I saw her, she was talking with the Mercernary Dakkurz. Probably offered to help find her missing goblin, if he's among the dead. Take Spaz with you. He should help you find her despite the weather."With a thought, Spaz stops lounging about in the rafters or on the table and grudgingly flies over to alight on Aeyd's shoulder.
Torsus didn't seem to take note of Narz' meandering visage, though whether he didn't care, or was simply 'old' was too close to the other to be differentiated. At the shell-pat, he managed to cough up a laugh, And I am eager for them. But not all fights are physical, friend. he said, leaving that in the air, and clearly not wanting to elaborate - but his mood didn't sour back to what it had been before his impromptu shower. Luckily the Tortle wasn't' hungry or thirsty, so he waved away any who offered or asked. His attention finally settling onto Narz, brows raising at the initial six or so words. Then settling into a repetitive nod. This is good news then. Good news indeed. Your ally seems the most likely to be found of the two, whoever they are. Though unless they can compare to the very Druid that raised Lifferlas to life, I do not know how useful they may be in the long run. Apparently it is a druid of great power, in a long shadowed place - But as I said, I will speak in more detail when we are all gathered, so i need not repeat myself. I am fine with either choice, personally. And as I said yours seems more 'guaranteed.'
I am also not averse to splitting our forces to seek out both. We have... Myself... You... Rollo... Aeyd, and Claire. In which case I'd suggest taking two to Waterdeep and the rest to.. bah apologies, I'm getting ahead of myself. In any case, we seem to have choices ahead of us, and i feel they may poses some degree of weight.
"With her horse," Aeyd repeats Rollo's words with a nod. "And if not with the horse, then I should ask Dakkurz. Alright. Got it! Thank you." She bows her head towards the others who had given her an idea of where to find the cleric then heads on out to the stables, quickly as to not get drenched by the rain.
Once inside, she closes the gate behind her. "Claire!" She calls out, trying to dry herself off a bit. "Are you here?"

"Indeed. But to answer your question at least while we wait, as someone mines as well, eh? And as mind repeating myself if need be on this front, the ally I refer to is not simply one individual, powerful though they may be, but an entire organization whose reputation stretches all up and down the sword coast and thensome." He explains. "Even my kin and company has heard of them, and we've been fairly... isolated to some extent. This ally that I refer to is the Lord's Alliance. Who, from a logistical standpoint, if nothing else, are more guaranteed to provide broad help across the board."
At that point, he leans back in his chair, and with fingers stepped together and pointed loosely towards the table. "As far as this splitting up idea, it is too... reckless. Perhaps if this druid was likely to be found in another one of the coastal cities or something, the story would be different. But considering their vocation, I have my doubts of that. Never mind being able to regularly keep in contact in the event either side runs into trouble. Help might not be expedient, but at least the other half would know and can possibly make arrangements."

There's a light chuckle that escapes her at Rollo's enthusiasm before her expression returns stern. "Convincing a dragon to aid in stopping the giants would be quite the feat... We would need to be very convincing, along with many other things..." She trails off, then glances over to Narz, her visage softening slightly with a shrug.

Torsus bursts through the window in an explosion of shrapnel-glass just to mess up Aeyd's sentencesTorsus brings himself down on the 'porch' before walking in slowly.

Aeyd, you find Claire in the stables taking care of her horse.
(Please work ddb please.)

Claire pokes her head out of Cauliflower's stall. "Oh! Ayed! Hello, yes, just finishing up brushing Cauliflower. Did Dakkurz send for me? I'm supposed to go help her find some pesky goblin friend of hers."
