As undesired in many ways as Torsus' comments were, as the hobgoblin would prefer to limit how much was owed the old the Tortle, even Narz could not refute the assistance. No matter how unintentional it might have been at the time. Even still Narz cinched his jaw in response, but kept his eyes on Dakkurz until an end came to the tension. Following the suppressing a sigh of relief, Narz shook his head to the sides to the question, then added, "No, but perhaps he ran off ahead. Either way, we should be off for Bargewright."
At that, Narz utters a quiet word in goblin to prompt Vigo to pad his way over to Torsus. By the time Hobgoblin and Tortle are close, Spaz lands atop Narz' shoulder; the Tressym's aerial surveillance finally concluded for the moment. And he stares down at the Tortle from atop Vigo for a good few seconds there, before asking politely, "Will you... require assistance? That was some severe blows you took, and I wager whatever--" Narz catches himself, but scowled and clenched his teeth. "...Do you require assistance or not, if only to make it to town."

Aeyd had been certain that her last few blows done onto the giant would have been enough to knock it down, however it seemed that it needed just a bit more. Thankfully, with a well timed blast, the final enemy falls and the field grows silent for a brief moment until she hears Dakkurz confront Narz on the kill. The monks thin into a frown, unsure if she should come to his aid, though it looked to be that he had it handled with Torsus' assistance.
Speaking of, dark brown hues look over the tortle, remembering the deadly blows he had been dealt just a few minutes before. When Dakkurz speaks of Shalvus, she also does a quick scan of the area, however when her eyes find Claire, she rushes over to the cleric's side. "Excuse me, Claire?" She pipes up to grab her attention. "Before we head over to the inn, would you mind looking over Torsus?"She brings her gaze to the tortle then to Claire. Torsus had been barely holding his breath in, his aged body not helping, when Aeyd had noticed his injuries, as had Narz, and both offering Aid. Too weak personally to 'scan' for Shalvus himself. He had been just about to answer Narz question, when the first, then second sets of magical healing had been cast on him, though the tortle had noted that Claire hadn't assisted him without first being prompted... just as she had ignored his plea for it during the previous night. he would note if it happened again. While he was happy for the healing, the pain crossing his face as the sound of bones cracking into place as well as a 'plastic crunch' as his shell barely managed to mend back together, giving him a modicum of comfort.
He still felt bruised and battered but atleast his soft innards weren't exposed anymore... He managed to stand up, and shake his head at Narz. I appreciate the offer, and would have accepted if not for the healing aid of these two. But I wouldn't burden you unnecessarily friend. As for ... Shalvus, I... personally don't recall him even coming with us... are you certain he was? or am I simply becoming Senile? Either way, let us follow Claire's lead... it's better than standing and pondering.
Dakkurz gathers up her forces and readies them to march before regrouping with the party. Seems you might be going senile then, she says with a laugh. Shalvus joined us because he wanted to go to Bargewright Inn. Was supposed to pay me on arrival but yes I'm guessing he snuck off that direction during the fight. No matter, a few hours ride and we'll be in town. Soon you're all making your way north along the river as you approach the town. About an hour into the journey Dakkurz asks Have any of you been to Bargewright Inn before? No? Well I'll tell you a little about it. Bargewright Inn started out as a simple hilltop Inn but now as you can see a settlement has cropped up around it. The town still goes by Bargewright Inn and the actual Inn itself now goes by the name Old Bargewright. The town has other inns as well as blacksmiths, Coopers, wagonmakers, stables etc. Whole place reeks of manure, mud and pics. It isn't exactly the friendliest place around but that works for me, no high and mighty types to turn down a hobgoblin merc. The walls around the town aren't the best defenses if you ask me but it keeps people out for the most part, and once they close their gates at night no one is allowed in, least not without a bribe. Luckily that won't be needed for us. Far as I can tell there's no single leader, but rather several prominent buisness owners making the rules here and money can get us pretty far here though I wouldn't call the accommodations luxurious perse. That said Chalaska Muruin is the Senior Sword, fancy title meaning she runs the militia. If I had to say anyone was really in charge I'd say it was her.
Dakkurz points to a bridge that crosses the Dessarin River, leaving the walled community and leading to another town on the eastern side of the river. So Bargewright Inn is on the west, and that bridge there is the Ironford Bridge. Apparently its centuries old and frankly it looks it when you go to cross it. Sometimes I think it'd be safer to just ford the river. Anyway, the bridge connects to the settlement of Womford. Tiny little village, not much of interest really. Has docks on the river, some mills and granieries and a few shops selling grains and baked goods. Though last time I passed through I heard an interesting little tale from some people in Bargewright. Apparently the Womforders have been plagued by some sort of beast. Think they called it the Womford Bat or something. Rumor has it it'll snatch you up if you walk the streets alone at night. Dakkurz laughs at the thought, Damned peasant superstitions. Anyway thats pretty much all I know about where we are heading. With any luck Old Bargewright will have room for us and I'll pay you lot there.
After another hour of traveling you arrive in town and,.just as Dakkurz warned, the place stinks of mud, piss and shit. The rickety wooden structures here are covered in mildew and look like they've fallen and been rebuilt several times since they were first constructed. Several people eye your company as you enter, some seeming interested in the new comers and others seeming wary of such a large and heavily armed group. Dakkurz leaders you through a second set of wooden walls that protect the inner town and eventually leads you to a large stone structure that seems relatively new in its construction. The sign out front reads "Old Bargewright."
When you enter the Inn Dakkurz grins widely and calls out to to Innkeeper, a slim half elf man with dark hair and grey eyes. Nalaskur! Long time no see. I hope you have rooms to spare my friend and plenty of drink on hand! The half elf doesn't seem quite as excited to see Dakkurz as Dakkurz is to see him. He sighs and welcomes her coldly before leaving his conversation with a man at the bar who you all recognize as Shalvus. Ah you all made it! I guess you made quick work of those giants then?

Narz had been about ready to fall back as soon as Rollo stepped in to assist. So, when Claire finally did so, it appeared almost a perfect opportunity to give Vigo the nudge needed to get them moving along again. Yet a second's hesitation has him awkwardly nodding instead in response to Torsus reply before all is done. So it was that he was all the more eager to follow along after Dakkurz once her forces were ready to go as well, if albeit as a small escape.
"Perhaps it is but superstition. But within such things, there are ever nuggets of truth, eh? Either way, it sounds as if we should be mindful of that area, and keep an eye out for a Muruin, if we should find ourselves in need of her sort of assistance." Narz later commented while taking rough notes on the conversation. While going back over his notes still an hour later, the wizard reels back and cannot help but scrunch up his face. Despite the fair warning, the smells still hit him like a sack of bricks; and, if not for riding Vigo at the time, he might've stopped and reconsider continuing on with the rest. But press on he did, though not without heavily considering making a makeshift mask out of a scented rag.
When the group later enter the Inn and are met with Shalvus once more, Narz nodded casually and say, "So it seems, eh? Fortunate for us, there were only three of them, and none were quite prepared to face a small army, as it turns out." His eyes then narrow just a little bit. "Your assistance would've still been appreciated. But, I imagine your business here-" He gestures slightly with his head to the inkeeper. "Must've been quite pressing, eh?" After that, Narz tried to get a read on the man. Partially just to see how he would react, but also because he hadn't quite forgotten the interrupted 'conversation' from back in goldenfields.
Oh yes, very. Besides I'm really not much in a fight, especially with giants. You get the feeling he definitely used that opportunity to get ahead but wasn't trying to leave people to die or anything like that, rather he saw an opportunity to get of danger and took it. He grins and goes back to nursing his drink. The innkeeper clears his throat. How many rooms do you need exactly? And I'm guessing you'll need use of our stables as well?
Torsus follows along on his dunkey taking note of the various fields with mild interest, having never been here before... having taking the senile comment quite well, as he himself was the one who had said it, though he knew he'd be able to get back at her later (Though he didn't expect it to be so soon) when she started pointing out local landmarks, and nearby settlements. Torsus found it odd that two settlements would be so close to eachother. But it was when she mentioned the local lore where Torsus would have his chance to tease the orkkin back. Oh? Truly? Well if it is merely superstition, then you wouldn't mind walking the streets of Womford alone at night then I suppose? As a sort of... Test of courage sometime then?
Torsus has nothign to add to the 'present' conversation, he's simply listening to what is said. (Sorry short on time after my mega post on the other one..)
Dakkurz laughs Of course not! Even if it is true I fear no beast! If you're serious I'll gladly put some gold on it. You need not worry about my safety, should anything come out to play it will surely regret it and I'll be the hero of the village! But let's worry about the matters at hand first.
Current:
Dakkurz takes a seat at the bar next to Shalvus. First things first, you owe me coin. Shalvus sighs and passes her a pouch of coins. She tests its weight and, seemingly satisfied, places a few coins on the table. Three rooms. One for the women, one for the men and another for myself. My crew can find other lodging in town. The other goblins sigh but take the hint, leaving to go find accommodations for the night. Oh and a hot meal and a round of drinks as well if you would. Im always starving after a fight. Dakkurz stands and moves to a nearby table, beckoning you to join. Taking a seat and finally taking measure of the room you find the inn seems fairly busy. Besides Shalvus at the bar there are about 3 more people nursing drinks in the bar. In the dining area there are a few groups that look like mercenaries or maybe even thugs minding their own buisness and at a few tables and dark corners of the room there are individuals who seem to be more keeping watch than actually eating or drinking though you don't see any weapons on them.
Food is soon placed on the table, mostly pork and old looking vegetables that were probably pushing their expiration dates. The beer however is light and refreshing, its quality seeming to be more important to the owner than the food. Dakkurz doesn't wait a moment before digging in, clearing her plate in almost an instant. In between bites of food she cries Afh! Almofst forgot! She passes a small bag to Narz containing 5 small rough diamonds. Your payment for helping me be rid of the traitor. each of those should get you 75 gold, don't take anything less! So, whats you're plan from here? Heading straight for Waterdeep in the morning?
Aeyd nods along to the groups exchanges with nothing more than a complacent smile upon her lips (although it does falter when her eyes fall upon Shavlus at the bar, but at least he held up part of his deal with Dakkurz). Once beckoned to sit down, she waits for everyone else to take a seat prior to sitting herself down at the table and once food is set down, she digs right in.
Her brows rise when Dakkurz asks them about their next point of action. "I believe so,"She says after taking a bite of pork. "Unless we have matters to attend to in this area?" She looks over the group for confirmation.

Looking around the room you notice that individuals keeping watch don't seem to be interested in anyone in particular, likely lookouts or guards for the establishment though they clearly aren't ordinary guards, more akin to thugs and spies. One other person is sat alone who catches your interest. A young man with a sallow complection and blond hair tied in a ponytale sits off in one corner table reading a book. People seem to intentionally keeping distance from him though he takes little notice of anyone else in the room.
"Since this trip hadn't taken us nearly as far north as we had expected, likely not eh?" Narz replied to Aleyd. "Although, we could stick around for a bit. See if the place has any ranger or explorer types that could help us find our druid further north. But, I wager that would be a touch of a longshot given the place, mn... set up, I guess." He adds, and at that moment would finally turn to look at the group after completing his own once over of the place.
Although to Narz, it was largely to make sure he hadn't accidentally positioned himself unfavorably for a quick exit if things suddenly took a dangerous turn. As he turned back as much as it was to accept the bag from Dakkurz, as it was to listen, he promptly hands the party each a diamond. "That does remind me as well. If you're interested in earning your coin back and then some, there is the other job I mentioned. Well, an adjacent one first, seeing as it may be some time before we reach the location. And provided of course that none of my... compatriots here aren't opposed." He glances to some on that lost note before relaxing a bit in his seat.
"We've recently come to possess some property that we're thinking of further fortifying. It is an old tower west of Orlbar along the Delimbiyr River. Your and your band's would be to head there, check it out, and secure it at the very least until we are free to head there ourselves. At which point, if you're still up for it, we can discuss an extended contract." He expressed before taking in Rollo's question and looking for himself at the man.

Torsus mills about, not quite sure what he wants to do just yet. he was a little hungry, and a little thirsty, but not much. he hadn't expended any large spells during the last fight And his metabolism was slow (luckily his gut would never show it thanks to his shell) And as Dak begins explaining to the assumed-owner of the establishment, he looks around, spotting the nursers and the watchers but not seeing what he thought he could use for what he was seeking. leaving only the owner to ask. He brushed the front of his shell off, to make himself more presentable. Though he eyed the hastily retrieved food and drink, he had business to attend, as part of his newfound powers would be locked away forever until he could obtain what he sought.
Though when Dak pipes up again, mentioning diamonds, Torsus eye's nearly sparkle with hope... until their value is mentioned.... at which point anyone watching him would see him visibly deflate, returning to his original journey to the counter, where this... Nalaskur fellow was. Choosing not to take a seat, but rather be blunt and up front, yet polite as he could be. Weaving a spell upon himself, seeking the guidance of his patron before speaking...
Excuse me, Master Nalaskur, but as the .. I assume owner of this establishment, and the wisdom stating to seek out an inn, pub, or other similar establishment should a person seek information... While I could waste time perusing the various guests to see if they might know what i seek, and find my purse empty with little to show for it. So instead I come to you to see if you might know where I can get something very specific...
He let the words hang in the air for two brief moments before continuing.
I seek a gem. What gem is irrelevant, it's value is all that matters. It is a component I wish to have. his head, nodding while his lips turn to a matter-of-fact frown like many old people do when they are asserting their surety on a point. I do not personally care if you aquire it if you are able or if you simply tell me where *I* might do so... assuming such a thing is possible.
I apologize for my long windedness, but I like to be clear.... So for the information ANDAcquisition of such a thing... he specified, knowing someone could easily pull a -well all you said was you would pay X-gold for the information, not the item, etc- and him, wanting to be sure he got the gem... if such a a thing were possible here.... I am willing to pay the three hundred for the gem itself, as well as a hefty twenty five more gold for the information. What say you? Is there such a thing within your possession, or at-least knowledge of it?
As the group enters the village, Claire reaches up and pinches her nose closed, though it seems to do little to help the stench. By the time they reach the inn, she gives up and surrenders to the stench, though a slight grimace permeates through any other expression she may make. After stabling her horse she joins the others in the inn. When Dakkruz asks of their next move: "How close are we to that Druid, I recall we spoke of seeking them out since we were already headed north, but we found the deserters fairly quickly. I'm not too familiar with the distances between settlements and landmarks here, so I'm not sure what would make more sense." Claire looks to Narz hoping for more direction after his offer to Dakkurz is completed.
Dakkurz stops eating long enough to consider Narz's proposal before finally nodding. Sure, I don't see why not. I'll take, let's say three of those diamonds back and you can consider the tower secured. We'll leave here in a couple days and make our way west. Dakkurz returns to eating before noticing the man Rollo is pointing too and studying him for a moment. Not sure. She says with a shrug. Was here last time I was staying here but I didn't talk to him. People avoid me as well so maybe they just don't like him, or maybe he smells funny.
Narz: in. Reference to Claires question you know the druid traveled north along the Dessarin River according to Torsus. However how far north you're not sure. The land is rough and the river long, traveling as far north as Yartar before turning back towards its source somewhere in the high forest. A trip that long could take weeks or months, especially in winter when its all snow. You could potentially hire a boat to take you up River however.
Torsus, the Innkeep looks at you with only mild interest but seems to consider the request. Well, I'm an innkeeper, not a jeweler. Not sure I can help. If however I did ask around I'd need to know the value of the gem you're looking for. Without that there's nothing I can do to help.

Rollo raises an eyebrow. "That seems very foolish. On the off chance it is true then we lose a valuable ally for a stupid reason."

"I believe so," She says after taking a bite of pork. "Unless we have matters to attend to in this area?" She looks over the group for confirmation.

Rollo sits with his back to a wall and watches the rest of the room carefully, especially now that he knows the place is full of people who could be bought.

Rollo tries to subtly point to the strange man. "Anyone know who that is? People seem to be avoiding him."

So for the information AND Acquisition of such a thing... he specified, knowing someone could easily pull a -well all you said was you would pay X-gold for the information, not the item, etc- and him, wanting to be sure he got the gem... if such a a thing were possible here....
