Elwin dashed up to the ship's wheel, and looked it over. No obvious fixtures or additions caught his attention. With an exhale, he gripped the spokes of the wheel, looked over toward the candypults to decide on a bearing, then began turning.
If all the gnomes are at candypults, I'll presume none are at the wheel.
Elwin's goal is twofold: (1) Turn the ship a bit to give Tam and the rest of the candypults a better shot at their target ship, if possible. (2) Manuever the boat closer to both the ship they're targeting, and the island. (a) If those are in opposing directions, choose the island over the opposing ship (b) If moving would ruin the candypult's shots, don't bother moving
And since he doesn't have Water Vehicle proficiency, I presume it'll be a straight up Dexterity Check:10
Tori actually grabbed the Helm on her turn, and manages to move right next to the main ship, where the rest of the Party is. With Captain X back onboard, and his mighty Floaties and Santa Hat, the Crew's morale goes back up, and as Elwin grabs the Helm, he struggles to steer the bulky damaged ship, but with all his effort, manages to get it just within firing range of the Island. The Gnomes fire the Candypults! The volley hits the Crystal, causing it to crack slightly, unleashing a wave of raw planar Energy rippling through the waters, causing a mini tidal wave that crashes through the Krampus Fleet, completely submerging and sinking two ships!
The Gnomes on both ships, and the rest of the Allied Fleet erupt in cheers. "That's it! Hit the Crystal! Fire everything!!!!For Santa!!"
The rest of the Allied Fleet finally moves in, taking advantage of the Ennemy's disarray, and dozens of Candypults are simultaneously fired over Ennemy Lines, utterly shattering the Crystal in an arcane explosion that disintegrates every Krampus Pirate on the Island!
Tam dives off the ship, and may actually hitch a ride on Tori's Plesiosaurus as it swims by the ship at incredible speed, circling around the Island at a safe distance as it explodes in cinematic slow motion, riding the enormous tidal wave that wipes out the entire Krampus fleet, as Santa, the Man Himself, comes flying out of a portal where the Island was, riding his red War Sleigh pulled by flying armored Reindeer.
"I'M FINALLY FREE! HOHOHO! KRAMPUS, YOU ARE ON MY NAUGHTY LIST!"
He jumps 60 feet down from his Sleigh and lands on the deck of X and Elwin's ship, with Tori's ship now anchored to it, and Tam riding around on the Plesiosaurus, landing heavily yet gracefully. "Well, it's been one Hell of a Season for Santa, I'll tell ya' that!" The Fleet slowly gathers around the Jolly old Man.
OOC: at this point, the Crystal has been destroyed, Santa has been released from Interplanar "travel ban", and the Krampus Fleet lies at the bottom of the Sea of Worlds. Initiative is over!
Also, CAMPAIGN PERK HAS BEEN UNLOCKED! CONGRATS TEAM3! CHECK THE MAIN THREAD VERY SOON!
Santa turns to the Party (Tam has time to ride the water Dino back onboard the ship after an epically wild ride full of explosions and tidal waves and riding over sinking ships)
"Well, thank you folks, Santa owes you big time! I wasn't too sure wether you were on the good or naughty list, but you've definitely saved the Holiday this year! Here you go!"
EVERYONE RECEIVES ONE UNCOMMON MAGIC ITEM OF YOUR CHOICE, NEATLY WRAPPED IN A BRIGHT RED AND GREEN BOX, WITH RIBBONS AND THEIR NAME WRITTEN ON IT!
After he's done giving out his gifts, Santa flies back up to his Sleigh, and zooms away into the Water Plane's sky. "See You next year!"
Then the Gnome Fleet's Captains all get together, with the Characters.
"Now we can follow Santa through the Sea of Worlds! Lets take a few moments to make some quick repairs to the Ships, and get out of here!"
They turn to the Party.
"Thanks for jumping in out of nowhere. Wherever you Folks came from, we owe you a Solid! If you want, you can have this Ship. It's taken a lot of damage and lost some Crewmembers. But give it a few hours, and we'll have it back up and running. The Crew Will follow you until you dismiss them, but we figured, wherever you're going, a Ship might come in handy...Lets all rest for a bit, celebrate, repair, and be off on our separate ways. Sound good to y'all?"
OOC: The Characters may take a long rest while Santa's Fleet regroups, with every ship tied together and connected by wooden planks, effectively making it a floating City, with about 500 Gnomes milling about, either repairing a ship or partying and singing Christmas Sea Shanties. After the rest, the Ship will be considered repaired and ready to go.
The young warlock watched the events unfold without a word. Between the ships, the exploding crystal, the dinosaur, and the man in red with his war sleigh... in all his life, even in his short time adventuring, Elwin had never witnessed such spectacle. He was still dumbfounded as, moments later, he looked down at the green and red package that was held toward him. Almost absently grasping it, he slowly peeled back the ribbons and lifted the lid. Inside, he found what he had minutes earlier been cursing himself for not having--a pair of Winged Boots, crafted of white leather with a strong blue trim.
"Thanks."
The teachers at the temple would have cuffed him in his youth for giving such a curt acknowledgment of gratitude, but it was honestly all the young man could muster at that point.
Once the man in red took off, the sound of the gnomes talking slowly began fading in. They were... giving his group a ship? And a crew?! It was such a generous offer, there was no way they could turn it down.
As the festive atmosphere sank in, Elwin couldn't help but smile. It looked like they'd have a brief, enjoyable respite before continuing toward their grand threat. Taking a few moments to first slip on his new footware, Elwin secured a mug of egg nog and joined in the revelry.
I'll choose the Winged Boots for Elwin's gift. He'll join in the revelry for a bit before taking his long rest.
As the three Suns set over the Sea of Worlds, and the five Moons rise, shedding their silver light on the calm waters, the dozens of Gnome ships are in full blown sailer party
There is music, Egg Nog and Rum, dancing, arm wrestling, tug-of-war, bare knuckle fights, knife throwing, and all sorts of gambling (cards, dice...) going on. Yaaargh!
OOC: Finally, since I haven't really come up with a name for this Christmas Scourge of the Sea of Worlds, lets make it a contest, shall we? Each of you will come up with an awesome name for your new ship (which I will fully stat shortly), and then roll a straight 1d20, with no modifier. Whoever wins gets final pick on the name....
Tam is living her best life on the back of the dinosaur. Grateful for the experience and happy to still be living. She gathers around Santa and is awed to find herself with a present.
She squees with glee and rips open the beautiful wrapping to find a ring with a note attached, "Looks like something was left off your wish list. Hope this makes up for it. Love, Santa"
It's been forever since she kicked up her heels. So, she grabs some drink, a gnome, Tori, and proceeds to party! Followed by some dedicated gambling time, and finally, she makes a gnome or two very very happy.
Tori is still trying to catch her breath after the flurry of events have unfolded. Furrowing her brow, she sizes up the big old Geezer. For all the cookies that one eats, he could be the Ginger Bread man!she thinks.
She accepts the gift with a smile and gives the old coot a sultry wink, but remains silent. She beings plotting a way to continue the stream of gifts from this fellow... by whatever means necessary. Goddess knows he has all manner of toys to have fun with laying around his workshop!
Tori turns around and ravenously unwraps the heavy parcel, wiggling her fingers at the paper as it falls. The pieces catch flame and burn to ash one by one, reflecting fire light in the beautiful silver shield she holds before her. It gleams as if it has just been polished, a stark contrast to her tarnished breastplate. A unblinking eye dominates the center of the shield like a terrible, otherworldly Giant's stair.
She feels her consciousness expand into the shield with an unsettling wave of nausea as she slides the armor across her forearm. She feels hyper-vigilant and more aware than ever before. The feeling is overwhelming and she swallows with a gulp, holding back bile as she squeezes her eyes shut. Slowly, she breaths and begins opening her eyes. The world is an entirely new place now. It is an oyster bed to be ravaged for pearls.
CON Savings Throw to maintain concentration on her animal friend as the overwhelming new ability floods her senses. DC 10 I guess? Yes, I'm actually punishing my own character in an attempt to role play. :-P

Tori obtains the Sentinel Shield+2 AC, ADV on all Initiative and Perception rolls, +5 to Passive PER.
Hey Grotex, I just want to check with you on how you want to play this out - this item puts Tori's Passive Perception @ 22, so unless you're opposed, I will begin role-playing her "noticing things" and wait for you to say what they are, instead of rolling for Perception. Am I under the right impression here? I've never seen a PER DC above 25, and that was like once, so it seems like 22 would mean she pretty much automatically notices things, assuming I remember to say she's looking.
What do you think? Her average Perception roll would be about 14 - 17 even with advantage now, so rolling Perception would really be more of a disability at this point.
I just realized Tori needs to get herself a set of police blues. Oooo weeee.
As she catches her breath, she turns to face the group with composure. "I vote we call this old tub of rotten wood the Wet Biscuit of Bacon Bay!"
Ring of Mind Sheilding - While wearing this ring, you are immune to magic that allows other creatures to read your thoughts, determine whether you are lying, know your alignment, or know your creature type. Creatures can telepathically communicate with you only if you allow it.
You can use an action to cause the ring to become invisible until you use another action to make it visible, until you remove the ring, or until you die.
If you die while wearing the ring, your soul enters it, unless it already houses a soul. You can remain in the ring or depart for the afterlife. As long as your soul is in the ring, you can telepathically communicate with any creature wearing it. A wearer can't prevent this telepathic communication.
Just making sure you are aware of this part and wondering... ;]
Tori's new senses overwhelm her for a second, but as the sensory wave recedes, she can now see tiny fish in the sea from the ship, hear every conversation onboard the ship...OOC unless the DC is higher than 22, Tori will indeed be considered to notice everything.

Finally, it seems like Captain X gets to name the Ship! Will it be the Christmas Carrier then?
The morning after the festivities and rompus room, Tam goes out on deck and breaks out her planar navigation system, hoping to find a course to the jail.
Tam may roll an Arcana check with Advantage to find the location of the portal to the Spike.
By Sunrise, the Christmas Carrier and its crew are fully ready to set sail into the Unknown. The rest of Santa's Fleet has departed, leaving the Party and their new ship alone on the Sea of Worlds
By the way, the Christmas Carrier is a 3 Mast Caravel (think Christopher Columbus), 75 feet long, and 25 feet wide. It has a crew of 30 Gnomes, including a Quartermaster, Helmsman, Navigator, Spotters (in the crow's nest), Carpenter, Cook, Siege Engineers, and all sorts of Sailors and deck moppers.
The Ship has an AC of 10.
Each 5 foot section of the Hull, as well as each Mast has a hardness of 10, and 30HP.
The deck is equipped with 2 Heavy Catapults. One on the fore, and one at the center by the Helm and central Mast.

She inspects the city below with her amazing new perception, hoping to get a glimpse of anything interesting below.
Tam fiddles with the navigation tools, and Astrolab she got from Liluminoy at the Observatory, assisted by the ship's Gnome navigator, who is actually used to Planar travel.
