The goblins all begin talking at once. Krub reaches out and smacks one of them and they immediately go silent. "Castle is north, in the forest. You not go there," he says. "Many goblins, and more bad ones," he says, shaking his head sadly.
Victor - as you search your memory, you recall hearing about a talented wizard-noble of old Phalorm, an ancient realm that once controlled much of the North. It seems likely that the castle was once his stronghold.
Sildar nods at Krub's words. "He's right - we're going to need help. I need to get to Phandalin - I'm searching for another friend who's gone missing. Perhaps once I find him he can aid us in this," he says.
Torwen Looks at the tied up goblins and says:" We are going to let you go to return to your home and families . You are not to return to this cave or ambush people or caravans. If we have to come back here it wont end like this again. Do you understand?"
Torwen looks at Krub and says: "Turn them loose but wait about leaving I want to talk to you"
After the goblins leave Torwen hands Krub a pouch containing 20 cp, 10 sp, and 1gp and says: " I told you we would reward you for helping us. Maybe this will help you and your family. Thank you for helping us. you have done a good thing and I hope you continue to do the right thing. May you have a long and happy life my friend."
With that Torwen shakes Krubs hand turns to the party and say's: "Lets get Sildar and these supplies to Phandalin."
At Torwen's words, the goblins all nod, still cowering. As soon as the goblins are released, they immediately scatter, running from the cave. Krub looks at the pouch Torwen hands him, and then looks up at Torwen, tears glistening in his yellow eyes. "Th-thank you," he stammers. He nods at Torwen and the rest of the party. "Krub will remember you. Many thanks, tall friends," he says and then makes his way out of the cave.
The party begins to head back to their wagon and get back on the road to Phandalin. It will be well after dark by the time the party arrives in Phandalin. The journey is uneventful, and after some time, Sildar points out the lights up ahead that signal the town.
"There won't be much open here besides the inn at this time of night," he says. "Best to just head straight there and take care of other business after a good night's rest. Toblen and his inn came highly recommended - though, of course, he's the only inn in town," Sildar says, laughing. "I myself am looking forward to a night of rest that doesn't involve a beating and a cold stone floor," he says soberly.
Is there a safe place to store the cart and ox tonight? If not I'll sleep in/on the wagon tonight. I don't want to loose 2 shipments - the original and the rescued one.
As you all enter the inn, a short, smiling human man looks up from the table he is cleaning. "Evenin', folks. Another hour and you'd have found me in my bed," he says, laughing. "Aye, we've got rooms. How many?" At his question, Sildar turns to the rest of the party with an apologetic glance, and then says to the man, "I'd prefer a room to myself, if you please, Toblen, is it? You came highly recommended by the Lord's Alliance."
Toblen smiles at Sildar. "Of course, of course, sir," he says. He turns to the rest of the party. "And how many for the rest of you? Any horses you need taken care of? And will ye be wantin' breakfast in the mornin'?" he asks. "Rooms are 5 silver each, and breakfast is another silver - though my Thea's cookin' is worth a gold," he says with a smile.
Torwen asks Toblen: " you have a stable for our ox and cart? if you don't mind i'll sleep there but i do want breakfast in the morning. how much for breakfast and the stable for the night?"
OOC: I totally forgot about the chained wolves. Can we retcon and say we turned them loose on the way out or do we need to go back tomorrow and turn them loose? Or did the goblins turn them loose on their way out?
((Retcon is fine - wolves were released on your way out, assuming no one else in the party has any objections))
Toblen nods at Torwen. "There is plenty of room in the stable, and the stablehand can take care of the ox and cart. You are welcome to sleep in the stable, but a room would be more comfortable, no?" he says. "But it is up to you - 2 silver for the stabling, 1 silver for breakfast." He turns to the rest of the party. "So 3 rooms for the rest of you, then?"
"Yes, sir. Here's 2 gp for the rooms and another 5sp for breakfast tomorrow." Kierro says, handing him the money. "See you all in the morning!" he says, finding his room. He prays to his deity, Pelor, for a bit before sleeping.
Torwen will take the cart and oxen to the stable. He will unhook them and make sure they are fed and watered. He will unroll his bed roll on the wagons bench seat and take his long rest.
Approaching Torwen victor speaks up, "Thank you Torwen, much appreciated and I will grab the next set of rooms when we need them." Then turning to Toblen, "I nice wine would be appreciated right now and maybe some duck if you have it? I need to catch up on some of my notes and research before I head to sleep." As he will then walk over to an empty table and sit down.
Toblen pockets the coin with practiced ease. He points up the stairs, saying, "The rooms are up there. Take your pick of any open door." Toblen looks a bit nonplussed for a moment at Victor's words , then his face relaxes into an easy grin. "I've got some mulled wine, but no duck. I'll go see what's left in the kitchen, since it's closed for the night." He heads off into the kitchen, whistling. He comes back with a bowl of steaming stew and a large cup of mulled wine. "'Fraid that's all I've got left," he says apologetically. "Enjoy your dinner," he says. "Just leave the dishes, someone will clear them away in the morning." He heads back into the kitchen.
((You may all take a long rest and level up to level 2))
Torwen wakes up early the next morning feeling re-invigorated and a bit stronger. He feeds and waters the oxen and makes his way into the Inn for breakfast. He looks to see if anyone else has made their way down. If so he will go sit at the table - if not he will choose a table.
Victor wakes up refreshed and goes downstairs to hopefully fund Toblen. "That was an excellent meal last night, almost made me think I was back home. Whats on the menu for breakfast? Any more of that mulled wine?"
At which point he will wave to Torwen and join him at his table. "Looks like we might have a day in town or at least a morning dealing with returning some goods to their owners and then talking to Sildas. Once that is all taken care of we can continue our search for Gundren at this castle that is a little bit a ways. Hopefully we don;t have to cap under the stars, the ground is awful for ones back."

Torwen asks: "What castle? Where is the castle? How do we find it?"
Victor would like to do a history check on any Castle's he might know of in the area, after Torwen gets a bit more info from the goblin.

“Sounds good. This goblin king sounds dangerous - we have to be sure we’re ready.”
Victor perks up at the mention of going back to town, "I would not mind sleeping in an actual bed tonight instead of the ground, shall we hurry then?"

Kierro smiles. “Sounds good. I can pay for our lodgings tonight.” he offers. “We’ll meet up and see Mr. Barthen tomorrow morning.”
As the group heads into the inn, Kierro goes to see Toblen. “Hello, sir. May we get rooms for tonight for the five of us?”
(@DM: 2.5 gp for all of us?)
