Killian picks up the finger. “This is to prove to him that... we have your finger? You prisoner? That we have killed you? He will want more proof, no?”

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
"Very well, if this can get us close I can try to keep him from casting spells. How much of a fighter is he if it comes down to a contest of strength?"
"Whether you give him time to ask those questions is up to you," Ser Mary shrugs. "Surely it will give you enough of an element of surprise to give you time to do what you need to."
She looks to Gruun. "Whatever you do, do not underestimate him. Doramor is one of the quickest fighters in the Sword Coast, and there is a lot of strength packed into that little man. Part of that is thanks to his sword and cloak, both powerful magical items."
For Hox, Rycider, and Wes:
While Hox and Wes settle on a nearby rooftop to take in the surroundings, Rycider heads a half-mile further along the docks, slipping into the water and approaching via cover of nearby ships. Her approach takes her around 150 feet away from Doramor in the water, hidden along the prow of a quick sloop called "The Flying Mermaid".
Tanakir speaks up from his invisible position, "Before we pull any tricks, we should discern whether or not we are dealing with the real Doramor. If we try to deceive a Slaad, then all this effort will be for naught."
If she thinks it's possible, she will take a shot with her blowgun at the gem, in hopes of disrupting or distracting but praying to the gods of destroying the crystal.
With inspiration To Hit : 12Damage:5
As soon as the shot is off, Ricky will slink back underwater
Hopefully before the attacks take place, Gruun will try to start a parlay with Doramor.
"Mage! I want to get this attack stopped. We have Ser Mary and will give her to you if you give your word to take you and yours and leave. I have here her signet ring still bound to her finger as proof of my word. If you will agree to this terms shake my hand and our deal will be done."
If that is at all successful, when they go to shake hands Gruun will rage, attempting to crush the bones of Doramor's hand and grapple him, covering his mouth to prevent him from casting spells.
Aradurk will move in lockstep, about 7 feet away, in an effort to stay close but not look like he's trying to stay close. When he sees Gruun attack, he will close on Doramor, assisting in his attempt to grapple him.

The scouting team sees Aradurk, Gruun, Killian, and Tanakir approach around, a half hour after they've taken their places on the rooftops and ships surrounding the docks. Doramor and his contingent have shown no sign of awareness of the scouting team's presence as of yet.
Doramor stands at the back of the docks, behind a line of eight death slaadi and flanked by two hulking cyclopes. The latticed wooden docks struggle beneath the weight of the giants.
The halfling grins widely. "Ah, Killjoy and the Moron Brigade have arrived," he taunts.
He holds up his hands to stop Gruun's approach. As the bugbear holds up Ser Mary's chopped finger, the grisly scene only causes the halfling to smile wider. "Her finger, you say? You really think I would fall for such an obvious ploy?" Despite his words, he studies the signet ring still attached to the digit with a helpless curiosity, poorly hiding a startled look of surprise before the mischievous grin returns. "Well...it seems you either are not the hero this city claims you to be, Killjoy, you have little control over your pet bugbear, or you really are that desperate."
He bows low, the floating icosahedral gem dipping with him a few inches until he uprights himself. "I am a man of my word. I came for Ser Mary's head, and Ser Mary's head I will have. And when her blood drips from my hands, I will leave this city with the Hivemind in your hands. You can do with it as you please." He motions to the floating gem.
OOC: Aradurk and Gruun are standing 10 feet from Doramor and the cyclopes on the docks, with Killian and Tanakir just behind them. Hox and Rycider's actions are still held until the action kicks off.
Hox and Wes can see this all from the nearby rooftops, as can Rycider from the water behind the closest ship.
Aradurk and Gruun, please verify if your actions remain the same now that you've seen the scene.
Seeing what is happening Ricky changes her mind. She will slip under the water and make her way to the underneath of the pier. Her hopes is to end up below Doramor.
Gruun will maintain his ploy for a handshake, hoping to be upon the halfling before he can react. If the handshake is not accepted Gruun will still attempt to force it and will lung forward with the same intent.
With both cases, he will utilize those long arms(10ft reach huzzah!) to try and grab the crystal at the same time and pass it behind him to one of his comrades.
OOC > Sorry for being out, down with a 102º fever for a few days.
Killian smiles grimly at Doramor's talking. "There are neither heroes nor pets here, Doramor. But I would end your suffering if you would let me. Ilmater croons for your soul."
Planned action in the spoiler, for Barty...
Killian will cast Crown of Madness on one of the Cyclops, and instruct it to attack the other one, hoping they will take each other off the dock and out of the fight. She will back up to try to stay our of the first round(s) of combat so she can concentrate on the spell.

OOC: Hope you feel better soon, that can't be fun.
For Rycider:
As you make your way toward the pier that Doramor stands upon, you see through the murky water that this spot is already occupied. Beneath the halfling, lying in wait, is a fish-like aberration of immense size, almost twice your size.
Doramor's grin grows almost feral as Killian speaks. "What would the poor innocent citizens of Luskan think, to see Killjoy, the one they cried out to save them when they lay beaten and bloodied in the streets, trading another hero for their lives in such grim fashion? What would they say, to --" he cuts off as Tanakir presses his gem of revealing a little too forcefully into him. His eyes widen, and in a split second, the action kicks off in full.

Doramor begins to fall back, but an arrow from a nearby rooftop hits him in the shoulder before he can take a step. His grin quickly turns to a grimace, and his eyes follow the path of the arrow toward Hox. Gruun lunges forward and grabs the halfling's wrist before he can move. At the same time, a crown of twisting iron appears over the head of a cyclops, and its eyes burn a fierce red as Killian steps back to concentrate.
Round 1 Order: Players <===== Aradurk, Rycider, Tanakir and Wes are left Enemies (surprised)
Placement: Gruun and Tanakir are engaged in melee combat with Doramor. Aradurk is 20 feet away from Doramor. Killian is 50 feet away from Doramor. Rycider is underwater, 60 feet away from Doramor. Hox and Wes are on a rooftop, 120 feet away from Doramor. The death slaadi and cyclopes are spread around the docks, between 10-50 feet from Doramor.
OOC: Gruun, Hox, and Killian have used their readied actions in Round 1 of combat. Despite Tanakir alerting them, you have taken the enemies by surprise.
Aradurk, Rycider, Tanakir, and Wes still have actions remaining in Round 1.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Wes Flourishes his wand around his fist. Red sparks spin around his fist. A large red spectral gnomish hand appears as it’s fist clenched and slams into Doramor.
Wes casts arcane hand. Using the clenched fist to punch that halfling in the entire body.
Attack: 26 Damage: 20
(I remember saying Wes put the orb into his wand way back when we got them, turning it into a +1 right? If not take one off the attack roll.
Realizing he needs to get closer to be more effective. Wes will begin climbing down to the ground and making his way to the docks.
