"Seeker Lomani has taken an interest in this case and there was a flask containing a mysterious black substance found in possession of someone last night. I was able to use an Identify spell to link the flask back to Saladin Brassman. We found him dead later. In fact I have the flask here."

Show it to Mistress Althea.

Mistress Althea takes the flask and inspects it—especially the unusual lid—then she opens it and takes a sniff. Grimacing, she hands it to Narim, who also takes a sniff before resealing the flask and handing it back to Guilliame.

"Potent stuff," Mistress Althea says. "I can guess some of the ingredients... And I would not drink this for a pouch full of gold."

"I've done an Identify on the flask itself. I might do one on the liquid inside to try to work out who made it."

"Can that ritual tell you that?" asks Mistress Althea. "It is not something I know."

"Me neither," says Master Narim, "but I believe it can. The archmagus would know... Or perhaps Mistress Vidon."

[OOC: Guilliame would have been taught this ritual by the archmagus most likely.]

"He taught me this spell. But I'll try it and see rather than bother him with it."

"Yes, I would not try to bother him now," says Narim with a smile. "He has a visitor and I doubt his personal secretary will not be letting anyone get anywhere near them."

"Well, I'll let you know how things develop. Have a good day."

Head up to library.

Guilliame makes his leave of Master Narim and Mistress Althea and makes his way towards the Library, the stairs of which he reaches without meeting anybody else he knows.

However, while climbing the stairs to enter the building, his attention is caught by an unusual sight. Leaving the Administration Building is a group of four people: the archmagus and his personal secretary, and a woman in the midnight-blue robes of a priestess of Aieda and a man in robes that glisten in the morning sunlight. The man in cloth of gold robes can only be the dawnmaster of the Temple of Mithra.

The four reach the bottom of the steps of the Administration building and turn towards the entrance of the School. The archmagus and the dawnmaster are in conversation while the two women are walking dutifully behind them.

[OOC: The group of four are about 200' away from Guilliame and have not noticed him.]

Continue on to the library.

Guilliame enters the Library to find Velma in the process of opening the shutters on the ground floor to let in the morning light. As yet, there is no one else in the Library.

"Hello again. I just saw the archmagus chatting to the dawnmaster. Do you need a hand opening up?"

"I already have an extra hand," says Velma with a smile, who then gestures up to to where a Mage Hand can be seen pulling open another of the heavy wooden shutters on the high windows that sit atop the shelves that line the walls. "What I would like is a hug."

Give Velma a hug and kiss. 

"I'm sorry I won't be around much in the near future. I think I will take up Narim's offer of working at the school though. Provided it puts enough bread on the table."

Velma returns Guilliame's hug and kiss enthusiastically and then stays in his arms while he tells her of his plans to work at the School.

"That would be nice," she says. "I would also like to stay here when my king's patronage finishes in a couple of months... And my stipend will increase, I assume, which would be nice."

The sound of young feet entering the Library makes Velma break the clinch the two are in. Looking a bit sheepish, she says, "Now I need to do some work, will I see you later?"

"I am going across to the sheriff's office soon. I want to get to the bottom of this case myself and I'm rostered on for night duty for the next few nights. Once this 10day is over I might try to get the guard to consult me and take up Narim's offer as my main job."

Velma gives a little pout when she hears that Guilliame will be busy at night, but then she brightens up and says, "I hope they are paying you well and I would love it if you dropped in to see me when you can."

Then she turns away and heads towards the two young students who have entered the Library.

OOC How long before Guilliame needs to be at the sheriff's office?

"Velma, is there any literature on Shari worship you know of. It was involved in the case last night."

Velma frowns momentarily and then points at a set of shelves and says, "I do not know of anything in particular, but everything we have on the Mithran religion is over there."

She then continues on to talk to the students.
