Tell the students to keep going with their practice. Do a see the arcane in the direction of where the girl went and head in that direction, looking for movement.

After giving his orders to the group of students, Guilliame heads off in the direction he saw the young girl go. As he walks, he quickly closes his eyes and opens them with his mage sight active. Looking around, he can see no suspicious concentrations of mana within the 30' range of his special sight.

Keeping his mage sight going, he enters the quiet contemplation area and finds the girl—she seems to be about fourteen years old—sitting under a large tree. Now that he is closer, he recognises her because she is unusual even for the School of Occult Studies.

She is not of either Sorian or Stemian blood, and is tall for her age and big-boned. Also, her hair—under the plain scarf she normally wears to hide it—is the colour of flax—a washed out golden colour. Guilliame remembers that her name is Heva and that she is apparently not a magi, which is confirmed by his mage sight because she has no aura of mana around her head. Instead, Heva has the gift of numbers, and is apparently able to do difficult sums in her head without the need for an abacus.

Now that he is closer, Guilliame can see that she is quietly crying.

"Hello Heva. My name is Guilliame. What's wrong?"

Taken by surprise by Guilliame's approach, Heva looks up. "Oh, you startled me," she says.

When Guilliame asks her what is wrong, she replies hesitantly, "It's Seb. He... We... She made us kiss... I don't know what came over me."

[OOC: Seb is a student about the same age as Allus. Older than this girl by a number of years.]

"How did she make you kiss?"

"I... I, don't know. But everyone was doing it."

At this point, Guilliame notices that the girl has twisted a silver bracelet around the fingers of one of her hands. It has small tokens on it representing the phases of the moon and he recognises it as an item of jewellery commonly worn by worshippers of the moon goddess.

"Master Minton said she was an avatar of Aieda come down amongst us, and Master Narim challenged her to prove who she was..."

She pauses for a moment before blurting out, "I wanted Seb so badly. Wanted him to take me. Make love to me, despite his having been nasty to me for so long because I don't come from around here..."

"I am so confused, I don't know what to think now."

"If she really was an avatar of Aieda she does have powers to make you do things you might not want to do. Don't feel badly if you have been made to do something you might not have wanted to do. Think about what do you really want and act on that."

The girl nods, but says nothing. Then she wipes her tear-stained face.

"Where did this happen?"

"In the dining area," says the girl. "There was a sudden meeting of the School called. Why weren't you there?"

"I was looking after the self-defence class. What did they say?"

"Master Minton called the meeting," says the girl. "My friends and I were already in the dining area when he brought her in... She looked magnificent, like a princess. She almost glowed. Master Minton told us all that she was the moon goddess herself, Aieda, come down amongst us."

The girl looks around before continuing, "They talked a bit and then Master Narim challenged her to prove herself... That's when... That's when it happened."

"Was it just you or did other people react as well?"

"No," she says, "It wasn't just me and Seb. It was everyone."

"So she could make everyone do things they didn't want to do. It wasn't just you. Just think about that. Why don't you come across with the other children. That are practicing their fart sounds and smells." 

[OOC: While still being young, she is several years older than the students Guilliame has been looking after and is probably just on puberty.]

The girl is thoughtful after what Guilliame says, but allows him to give her a hand up and starts to follow him back to the training area.

"Could she really be the goddess?" she asks.

"I don't know. What some people have asked is if she is the goddess why did she come here and not to the church? She obviously has some powers so who knows."

The girl is [OOC: and so am I] confused by the above, but she is happy to follow Guilliame back to the training area, where the younger students welcome her and she puts on a brave face as though nothing had happened.

"Can we go and have lunch now, Master Guilliame?" says one of the students. "I'm hungry."

"Yes. Let's all go as an orderly group to the refectory. Just stay close and keep your eyes out for anything unusual, please."

Guilliame leads the small group of students back towards the refectory. As they approach the main buildings of the School, he starts to see small wandering groups talking excitedly to each other, and yet others—mainly individuals—looking nervous and embarrassed.

They reach the dining room to find most of the rest of the Schools students and masters all talking excitedly with each other, food forgotten in the aftermath of whatever it was that happened.

"What's going on?" he hears one of his young charges say.

"The Moon goddess was..." says the older girl.

Guilliame—who has just seen Master Narim, Mistress Althea and Master Minton over near the entrance to the Archmagus' private dining room—turns to see why the girl has stopped talking and sees her staring at the student he knows by the name of Seb, who is talking with another young man.
