Before he arrives (if there is time) say quietly to Dora "I didn't see anything suspicious. He may just have good technique."
The townsman arrives just as Guilliame finishes relaying his observations to Dora. "Handleader," he says, "My name is Brutha Hazluk. My family runs a clothing establishment in the Mercantile District, perhaps you have heard of us?" He then lowers his voice before continuing. "Would you be heading back in the direction of the inner city anytime soon? If so, I would like to accompany you. I am a little concerned that those four ruffians who tried to hex me might be waiting outside to enact some sort of revenge."
[OOC: Both of you please make an Area Knowledge check for me against a Difficulty Class of 15 to see if your characters know the family name.]

Tyrus Mountson: Lvl 3 Dwarvish Bard; Waterdeep Campaign (Dragon Heist) Nanoc the Younger: Semi-retired Lvl 2 Rogue / Level 2 Barbarian Human; The Knuckle, Mror Holds, Ebberon. The Honourable Jaden Fellan: Level 3 Human Eldritch Knight; Band of Sunswall
AKA: Phillip Berrie: writer, editor and academic thrillseeker—a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
[OOC: If you see this, don't respond because I am still processing the move.
The name is unfamiliar to Dora, but that isn't surprising as the Mercantile District is on the main island and is not somewhere Dora normally would shop.
Roll for Experience: 18
Dora gains some experience, which I have added to her character sheet. You can also now access Brutha Hazluk's page on the World Anvil site here.
11 (I added +2 but that is for Scholar's Ward - is that relevant?)
[OOC: I allowed it for Paul, so that's fine.]
What Guilliame knows:
[OOC: Unfortunately, that was not high enough, but I will make a roll for experience for Guilliame.
Roll for experience:3
Unfortunately, the roll was not high enough for experience, but you now have access Brutha Hazluk's page on the World Anvil site here.

In response to your lack of recognition, Hazluk sighs and then adds, "Well perhaps you have not heard of my family, but I would appreciate the company on at least part of my walk home. What say you, Handleader?"
[OOC I am oiling the deck and need to actually research the city map and the chap's background before I can give a measured answer. Which will probably be this evening..]

[OOC: Not a problem. Obviously the weather there is nicer than it is here. We have had rain on an off for days.]

I fix a steely eye upon Master Hazluk "we have duties here to conclude, and then hopefully we will be leaving for the Scholars Ward. Ironically though it is not safe for you to accompany us. We will have our hands full just dealing with whatever the gods throw at us tonight without the distraction of looking to your safety. No, you came to the Shepherds Rest by free choice, you must solve your quandary. My advice is to take a room here for the night. You will be safe under Master Brock's roof."
I look to Guiliiame for his acknowledgement that he has witnessed my advice to Master Hazluck. I pause before softening my tone "let me know if Brock can fit you in, tho' I've never known him to turn away a paying guest".
Hazluk is silent for a moment and then spares a glance at Brock before turning back to Dora and saying, "I am sure Master Brock's accomodation is very nice, but I must make it home tonight... Anyway, Venuss seems to me with me tonight, so I believe I will test my luck one last time. Goodnight Handleader. I hope the rest of your evening pass uneventfully."
He then turns and starts making his way towards the door.
[OOC: Both of you please make both a Perception check and an Insight check for me. A roll of 5 or less will be considered a failure for the Perception check, whereas you will need a roll greater than 13 to succeed with the Insight check.]
Apart from the unchanging colour of his face, Dora notices there is also something strange about his hair... It doesn't look natural, perhaps he is wearing a wig.
Dora's Insight:
Although he is trying to hide it, Dora gets the impression that Hazluk is slightly amused and that he never really expected her to provide him with an escort... And perhaps didn't want one.
However, there has also been no evidence that Hazluk has done anything against the law tonight, so Dora acting out on her feelings would run contrary to proper procedure.

I wait a moment for Hazluk to move out of earshot, then turn to Guilliame, lean closer and quietly remark "Hazluk is like a bell cast in a second-rate foundry, he does not ring true. Too many times he has played the victim card tonight and yet he won the contest. As well he seemed totally impervious to the effects of that foul liquor. As for his fear of being waylaid ..."
Now that Guilliame was able to get a closer look at Hazluk, knows what Dora is talking about. The man's face is Stemian pale, but the colour seems to due to the careful application of makeup, which is being used to cover some sort of skin rash, perhaps. Also, though it is well fit, Guilliame now believes Hazluk is wearing a wig. Finally, although he reeks strongly of the grog, Guilliame is of the opinion the man is not in any way inebriated.

"Speak plainly Guilliame."
"To make sure the peace is kept I think accompanying Master Hazluk might be wise."
