AKA: Phillip Berrie: writer, editor and academic thrillseeker—a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
Does the School have a position on followers of Shari?
For Guilliame:
[OOC: Under the current Archmagus, the school tries to be as secular as its charter allows with the only 'god' strictly not allowed to be worshipped being Arion, the so-called god of magick. However, followers of Shari who gain benefits through sacrifice would be considered Warlocks by the school, an Arcane practice that is actively discouraged.]

Based on this knowledge would Guilliame have any idea what the liquid in the flask is?
For Guilliame:
[OOC: When Guilliame smelt the liquid previously, he thought it was possibly some sort of narcotic with possible mind-altering effects (seehere) and at the time he had no idea why Dora thought it might have something to do with black magick. However, it now seems like she was correct in thinking this, but he has no idea how she has that knowledge.
Considering what his Identify spell revealed to him, it would seem that the contents of the flask has something to do with the worship of Shari, but he would still have no idea why such a narcotic would be used by her followers. Maybe if he tried some, he might know a little more.
Later: According to the rules (see here), a magical potion can be identified with a sip. However, Guilliame knows that the liquid in this flask is not magical and even a sip of poison can be potentially deadly.]
[OOC: For the sake of clarification. Guilliame's Identify ritual was done on the flask, which is what the results I gave concentrated on. Guilliame could also use the Identify spell to find out more about the liquid inside the flask (they would be considered two separate things as they are not permanently attached to each), but to do so he would need to pour out some of the liquid and touch it as part of the spell. If successful, the ritual would then tell him more about the liquid and what it does without the risk of possibly being affected by it, unless it was a contact poison.]

[OOC my last post was talking to Guilliame in a quiet corner. I guess I just continue on from there ...]
"Well that complicates matters as we need to our findings to the Sherrif. Somehow we will need to avoid the bad apple you have spoken of. Perhaps you can put him to sleep. That brew in the flask I remember from a case involving followers of Shari. Samel has implicated the entire Hazluk family in the use of dark magik. I think we need your findings and Samel's testimony to have a case. One without the other will get us nowhere. Samel is rightly fearful and I have commited to protecting him as much as I can which is going to involve the Sherrif as well. All roads lead to the Sherrif. Oh, you should know too to keep an eye on Barrus, he is normally an affable man but he behaved very oddly after hearing Samel's story. I believe he may have been gotten to.
"So my thought is to keep the villians on the back foot and make for the Sherrif now. We can put the evidence to him and see what transpires. If the Sherrif does not act we will got to the Seekers. We will take Barrus with us where I can keep an eye on him and leave Jack and Alice to staff the post. Your view?"
"It will be an interesting night if we survive it."

[OOC: All good, Andrew has just been clearing up a few details regarding his spell casting, so you're good to continue the conversation as it was left off.]

"I wish we could completely trust the sheriff. If he has someone in his employ of dubious character that makes him suspect. Do you know Seeker Lomani. I have some faith in her but I'm not as certain of Seeker Harlan. Perhaps I can talk to Seeker Lomani's apprentice Bassily tomorrow."
"Do you have any idea of what the dark liquid is? If you don't then I can try another spell now. It will take a bit more time."
"Sorry but to be explicit about this, the Hazluk household will know that Samel has not returned and Brutha Hazluk was present when we were pursing him therefore they will put two and two together and will be seeking him or taking measures to ensure that his information is neutralised. The moere we tarry the more time we allow them to consider their position. And I am sure the seekers are called out at odd times."
[OOC: Dora and Guilliame would both know that the Seekers are based at the Temple of Donai in the Temple Ward on the main island (seeherefor the basic city map). However, there is no way of knowing where Seeker Lomani is at the moment as it is her general mission to 'seek' out the Restless Dead and peoples practicing black magick.]
For Dora:
[OOC: The City Watch does not have any jurisdiction in the Temple Ward. The guards of the various Mithran temples look after the security of this walled area of the city and it is a sore point amongst the Watch that the number of temple guards guarding the Temple Ward is about the same as the whole of the Watch for the rest of the city.
On the plus side, it is not the mission of the Watch to search out practitioners of black magic and it is protocol that such matters should be reported to the Mithran Temple authorities, the Seeker especially.]

Will wait to hear whether Dora got anything out of her interrogation before doing a spell. Will take no further action till then.

Is Guilliame aware of any animosity/friendship between worshippers of Arion and Shari?
"I doubt we will be permitted to see the Seeker at this time of night unless you have some special sway."
