"Is he from around here?" asks Latisha before she suddenly comes to some sort of realisation. "Wait, did you say 'de Maclan'? So, are they family of sorts?"

"Half brothers I would guess, or de Maclan is a half uncle, maybe?"

"The de Maclan is too old to be the same generation," says Latisha. "We might need to keep our eye on this; it wouldn't be the first time there was trouble between an heir to the family and offspring born out of wedlock." Then, after a moment, she adds, "Do you want to go and have a chat with the young Maclan heir? Find out what he is doing here."

"Why don't we wait until they are done talking, or maybe I can talk to him Eddard at the school."

Handleader Ahman shakes her head and says, "I would prefer to nip any potential problem brewing here in the bud rather than try to break up any fight between two magi, especially one as powerful as the older man."

She then gets to her feet and adds, "Come on Guilliame, introduce me to young Eddard. Just knowing we are here might prevent something happening."

[OOC: Does Guilliame introduce the handleader to Eddard or do you want him to do something else?]

Go up to the pair. "Hello, Eddard. How is it going this good evening."

[OOC: The two are not together. Eddard is standing back against a side wall while Zed is closer to where the musicians are performing. Zed apparently is not aware of Eddard's present at the moment.]

Eddard looks round in surprise. "Oh, hello Guilliame. What are you doing here?" He then notices Handleader Ahman and Guilliame's armband. "Are you on duty? How exciting."

"Yes. This is Handleader Ahman. He has a small amount of skill himself and was interested to meet you."

[OOC: N.B. Handleader Ahman is female.]

"Hello Magus Maclan," said Latisha. "Guilliame tells me you look after the entrance gate for the School. Can you tell me what happened with Master Minton? ... I used to be so scared of him hearing my thoughts when I was a student at the school."

[OOC: Guilliame gets the distinct impression that Handleader Ahman has asked this question for an ulterior motive... Which doesn't seem to work.]

"He has sort of retired," replies Eddard, continuing to stare at Zed.

"So, do you know that man?" asks Handleader Ahman, looking at Guilliame for support.

[OOC: If Guilliame tries to help Handleader Ahman as she is wanting him to, she will be able to roll again at Advantage. Do you want him to do this?]

"Something happened the day that that woman turned up at the school, didn't it?"

Both Handleader Ahman and Eddard turn towards Guilliame, looks of confusion on their faces.

"Sorry? What woman?" says Eddard.

Meanwhile, in the background, the musicians seem to be finishing up.

"Were you there the day the woman claiming to be a goddess got into the school. I was there but I didn't see anything."

"Yes," says Eddard, looking a little uncomfortable. "I was in the refectory when she demonstrated her power..." Looking down he adds quietly, "It was embarrassing."

"What woman?" asks Handleader Ahman, sounding very confused.

"Do you want to explain Eddard. I didn't actually see what happened."

"Yes, please," says Latisha eagerly. "A goddess? This sounds fascinating."

[OOC: Could I get you to roll a Persuasion check for Guilliame against a DC of 10 at Advantage because Handleader Ahman is helping.]

Eddard looks over Guilliame's shoulder at the musicians who have now finished playing. He then turns back to look at Latisha and says, "Of course, happy to help the Watch, though I do not know a lot about it... Apparently, the woman was smuggled into the school by a discredited former student by the name of Bhail Nochadan. They were initially caught, but then she managed to escape—rendering Mistress Althea unconscious in the process. Everyone thought the woman had fled the grounds, but then she—"

At this point, Eddard is interrupted as Guilliame suddenly finds Zed de Maclan at his side.

"Excuse me," Zed says, looking at Eddard, "But it is young Eddard, is it not? My how you have grown..." He then opens his arms wide. " Come and give your uncle a hug."

There is a moment's hesitation on Eddard's part and then the two embrace.

Handleader Ahman pulls Guilliame to one side and says, "False alarm. There do not seem to be any problems here. She should leave them to be reacquainted."

[OOC: What do you want Guilliame to do at this point?]

Be led off by Ahman.

"What were you concerned about that you wanted to understand what happened?"

"False alarm," replies Handleader Ahman, as she leads Guilliame away. "I just was not sure that it was going to be a happy reunion and, with power like that older man has, I just wanted to make sure that there was not going to be any risk of a battle of magic. The younger man seemed quite intense in the way that he was looking at him."

Then, taking a look around the room, she says, "We should probably continue on with our rounds, unless you have something you want to do... There are toilets available here."

Looking around the room himself, Guilliame sees Zed de Maclan beckon the young woman—Janny—to join in the familiar reunion.

[OOC: Is there anything else you want Guilliame to do here?

On other matters, that Centipede Press volume of the expanded version of Dracula goes on sale this Sunday (9:30am their time). This is 1:30am Monday morning our time so I am wondering if I need to stay up late on Sunday night to make sure I get my copy. Do you have any idea as to how quickly their editions sell out?] 

OOC Just about everything they publish sells out fairly quickly but I don't know whether that will be first day.

As Guilliame walks away do a See the arcane looking away from the Macclans but then turn around and face them to see whether there has been any magical activity since last look.
