When Guilliame turns towards the Maclans he sees no obvious magical activity and it appears that Janny de Maclan is being introduced to Eddard.

Guilliame sees no subtle magicks at work in what appears to be a family reunion, Gulliame turns back and follows Handleader Ahman out of the Nook and into the street.

"It is a nice little tavern," says Latisha before adding, "And a nice area of town. Shall we walk on a little way towards North Port?"

"Then, before Guilliame can answer her question, she says, "The aura on the older Maclan was very impressive. As strong as some of the masters at the School, from what I can remember."

OOC How did the book buying go?

"I didn't observe Zed as being Master strength magic from what I saw. But maybe I'm mistaken."

[OOC: The book buying isn't until early Monday morning; August 7th their time.]

"Perhaps they have all grown stronger since my time there as a child," says Latisha. She then points in the direction of the ocean and asks, "Shall we walk on?"

"Certainly. Are there any dangers in this part of town to look out for?"

"The closer you get to North Port, the rougher the area becomes," replies Latisha. "But the Watch does not have jurisdiction there, so we will not be going too much further."

As the two walk on Guilliame does indeed notice that the houses start to either become less opulent or better fenced. Finally, they come within sight of another tavern on the corner of another crossroads, this one looking much more seedy than the Nook.

"Well, this is where the Watch's responsibility ends," says Handleader Ahman. "From here to the water is the responsibility of the North Port coop." 

She then looks to the left (northwards) and says, "Shall we take the long way back and check in on the Shepherd's Rest? You can tell me the details of what happened there last night while we walk."

Can I just indicate the points to cover:

1. There was a fight outside the inn as we were arriving which was ended with a Sleep spell.

2. There was a sporting competition which was betted on where there was some clear magical manipulation of the result.

3. Came cross 2 travellers who didn't know (they said) about the weapons restrictions.

4. A young lad was apprehended with apparently stolen merchandise.

5. On further investigation a double murder was discovered.

6. On of the victims was a magic user with access to dark magic and a demon or some magical creature in his cellar.

7. The Mitrans are investigating the murder because of the dark magic element.

[OOC: That's fine, you could have actually just says Guilliame tells her what happens. A list like the above would only be necessary if there is something you would want Guilliame to not say.

Also, he would not need to go beyond point four because Handleader Ahman was involved with what happened at the Brassman Residence.]

By the time Guilliame finishes his detailed retelling of last night's event, the Shepherd's Rest is in sight.

"I just want to pop inside for a moment to let Brock know that we are keeping an eye out on things here," says Handleader Ahman. "If the others dropped in as well, then it will really let him and the customers know that we on watch."

Then she adds, "Do you want to come in?"

"Certainly. I probably need to show my face around a little to let people know I'm out and about."

"Come on then," says Latisha, as she leads the way into the tavern.

There is not as many people in the taproom tonight as there was last night, but Guilliame recognises a number of faces: Bran Brock and his staff; the two visitors to Constantine who were warned about their weapons; and a couple of the participants from last night's competition.

Handleader Ahman leads the way across to the drinks table where Brock is standing.

"Hello Brock," says Latisha. "How are things tonight?"

"Handleader Ahman," replies Brock. "Long time no see. Care for a drink?"

Latisha turns to look at Guilliame. "Do you want one?" she asks.

[OOC: This will also give you the chance to ask any questions, etc.]

"A small brew would hit the spot and not overly addle the bounce, thanks. No competition tonight?"

OOC Did you manage to purchase your book. The initial payment doesn't cover postage - I should have said that earlier.

[OOC: Re: the book. I think so, I used Paypal and it seems like the transaction has gone through, but I haven't heard from Centipede yet. They also didn't include postage in the transaction, so I have contacted Jerad regarding this.

At 1:30 am last night their site got really slow, so I suspect I was one of many waiting to buy the book.]

At Handleader Ahman's nod, Brock gets out a couple of smaller mugs. "I will run one if there is enough interest," says Brock as he starts filling the mugs. "... though I doubt either of you would be interested in competing, am I right?"

Latisha laughs and says, "You would be right there. It would not do to get drunk while on duty." [OOC: If Guilliame wants to compete, we can go back to here.]

"So, anything out of the ordinary happening tonight?" says Latisha as Brock hands over the drinks.

"Not really," replies Brock casually. "It is pretty quiet. No minstrels tonight, and not enough interest to have a drinking competition." He then pauses for a moment before adding, "It also does not help having the Watch popping in every candle or so... No offence intended, but twice in one night is perhaps too much, my customers want to relax and not have to worry about the Watch looking over their shoulders."

[OOC: Stopping here so Guilliame can take part in the conversation, if you want.]

Definitely not competing and just listening to the conversation for now.

Handleader Ahman laughs at Brock's comment and then says, "Do not worry, Brock. We will finish our drinks quickly and be out of your hair in no time."

So saying, Latisha takes a long draw on her drink and turns back to survey the room.

"So, what happened to Handleader Wallus?" says Brock to Guilliame. "She was with you last night."

"She was continuing the investigation after I returned with the sheriff. I'm not sure what else she uncovered, if anything."

"Investigation?" queries Brock, sounding interested. "What investigation?"

[OOC: If you want to start telling him this information, just paraphrase. However, if you want to leave something out, you need to tell me what.]

Describe the double murders(?), funny things in the cellar and Mitran entry onto the case.

Brock listens on with rapt attention while Latisha, who has just heard most of the story, sips her beer and keeps an eye out on the room.

"Busy night then," says Brock laconically, once Guilliame finishes his tale. Then he turns to Latisha and adds, "Sounds like I am in the wrong business, Handleader. Do you think they would take me on as a member of the Watch? I miss the old days when I was in the army and saw some action."

Latisha chuckles and, politely ignoring the fact he has one hand that is a metal hook, adds, "No, Brock, I am afraid you are too old. You would not be able to keep up with all the walking we have to do." 

"Old? Who are you calling old," says Brock with a laugh.

The two banter on in this manner for a while and it becomes clear to Guilliame that there is history between the two... and perhaps something more.
