Master Minton smiles and pats Bruxa on the head as Guilliame heads out once more into the rain towards the Administration building.

Entering the foyer, Guilliame sees Mistress Salazar, the apothecary, talking to someone Guilliame hasn't seen before: a deeply tanned, bald Sorian man with thin features who is dressed in thick winter clothes. On the man's chest is a shiny, new, gold master's medallion similar to Mistress Salazar's.

If there is somewhere to lurk so that Guilliame can go across when the conversation is completed without looking like lurking then lurk there. Otherwise head up to the library.

[OOC: The two masters aren't the only people in the foyer. There are some younger students (4) looking at a notice board on the other side of the large room. Note: the Library is a completely different building to the Administration Building. Upstairs in this building leads to a formal meeting room, a small lecture theatre, and the archmagus' private rooms, the last of which Guilliame has never visited.

With regard to places to lurk: Apart from the main stairs that lie directly opposite the main entrance, there are corridors leading out of the foyer on both sides and doors to two rooms closer to the entrance. One of these leads into the School's official administration area where the student records are kept, while the other leads into a lounge used as a waiting room for visitors or a relaxation room for people on a break. There are also numerous paintings, displays of an arcane nature, and other things on the walls that it would be feasible that someone could be interested in.

Based on the above description, Guilliame could either pretend he is looking at something on the walls and hope to go unnoticed, or duck through one of the doors close to the entrance. If you choose the first option, make a Deception check to try to make it look natural that Guilliame is present. If you choose the second option, make a Stealth check to try to slip in through one of the doors without anyone seeing (If you choose this option, please indicate which door: Administration or Waiting Room).

No matter what you choose above, you will be able to keep the two masters in view while they stay where they are, which is near the bottom of the stairs. However, the success of your roll is to determine whether Guilliame is noticed in so doing.]

Guilliame pretends to look at the School's honour board while occasionally taking sly looks at the two masters. However, he is actually taken a little by surprise as a female voice behind him says, "Hello? Can I help you?"

Guilliame turns to find that Mistress Salazar and the unknown master have approached him.

"It's Guilliame, isn't it?" says Mistress Salazar. "Are you looking for Master Narim?"

The man with her is one step behind and stays silent.

[OOC: The man looks innocent enough, if perhaps a little too thin to be healthy. But there is something about his eyes that is a little disconcerting.]

"I was trying to wait inconspicuously to talk to the new master. Is it perhaps Master Wallash?"

The man smiles, gives Guilliame a little bow and then speaks in an accented form of Sorendenese.

"I am he," he says, "And you would be?"

"My name is Guilliame de Marchant. I'm a student here. I was hoping to talk to you about specialising in the School of Enchantment."

The man's eyebrows raise and he says, "But you are an adult... Are you not already a journeyman?"

"There you go, Aldus. I told you there would be interest," says Mistress Salazar. "I will leave you two to talk and I will catch up with you later."

So saying, Mistress Salazar heads off up one of the corridors after replying with a nod of her head to Master Wallash's slight bow.

"I am a latent magick user only discovered later in life. I've nearly completed my studies and now want to specialise.I've decided of late I'd rather resolve situations with persuassion rather than getting bashed up."

"You do not have the look of most of the students here," says Master Wallash, looking Guilliame up and down. "Do you live on campus? I would think not, considering your coat is soaked. What is your normal occupation, if you don't mind me asking?"

"I help my grandmother at our shop."

"Are you sure avoiding being bashed up is the real reason," says Master Wallash slowly, his eyes staring unblinkingly at Guilliame. "Or are you perhaps a shopkeeper who wants to be able to persuade people to buy their wares?"

"In the past few days I have seen priest guards threatening people because of their religion, thugs robbing old people at markets, street thieves, and been robbed myself. Good things can happen if people listen to common decency and good sense but it needs a push. I'd like to be part of the solution."

"Really?" says Master Wallash, a little taken aback. "I had no idea that Constantine was such a dangerous place... What do you mean by 'priest guards'? That sounds most unlikely. Have you reported it?"

"I have spoken to some in the church and something has been done. There are lots of things going on in town. Did you hear about the strange events at the school last week? There have been assassinations at high levels. I was attacked by a stirge last night and that is unusual. There is still a lot to do I think." 

"And here I thought I'd come to a nice quiet city," says Master Wallash before adding, "I have just arrived from New Nineveh and places further south."

Changing the subject, he then says, "So, you seem like a hearty enough fellow, why choose Enchantment over Battle Magic? I have been told that Master Narim is seeking a protege."

"My future lies in Constentine. I want to settle down and do what is best for this city rather than travel as I once did."

"I understand, I think," says Master Wallash. "I also led a more... adventurous life in my younger days, and I also would like where I live to be a peaceful place."

The two speakers are interrupted as one of the younger students laughs loudly at some joke.

"Perhaps we should find a more quiet place to continue our conversation," says Master Wallash. "However, the only place I know so far is my quarters, which might not be appropriate... Do you know of anywhere we could continue our discussion in private? Perhaps the library?"
