Guilliame and Master Wallash leave the Administration building and make their way through the rain to the Library where they then both proceed to dry themselves off in the vestibule using the Prestidigitation cantrip. After doing so, they then head towards one of the small private study rooms that Guilliame has previously used on the first floor.
As they do so, Guilliame catches sight of Velma going about her daily routine as the assistant librarian. Velma also sees Guilliame and gives him a quick little smile before abruptly turning back to her task of returning books to the shelves.
Once in the room and seated at the study table, Master Wallash looks Guilliame directly in the eyes and asks, "Now Guilliame, before we talk about what you might like to study, I have to ask: Have you ever been placed under the influence of a magical enchantment spell?"

"Yes," says Master Wallash. "People like to think that their thoughts are their own... I believe your School's gatekeeper was distrusted for his ability to hear people's thoughts. Even though he no longer hears thoughts, I wonder if he is still carrying that stigma because of what people think he might know about them?"
"However, I digress," he says getting back to the point. "The idea of having one's thoughts controlled by another is considered even worse by the general public. That is why there is generally an adverse reaction to the use of the spell you mentioned, despite the fact it can be used to avert physical violence."
He pauses for a moment before adding, "What people fail to understand is that we are being influenced by others all the time through means other than magic. In a way, magic is a cleaner, more reliable way, to do this... As long as it is used for the right purposes, of course."
Once again he pauses before saying, "Are you willing to be the subject of a spell? As an experiment to see what it is like to be on the other side? It is something I think you should experience at least once and it might help you decide if this is the way you want to go with your studies."

"No. I really want to help make this city a better place to live and there's lots of weird stuff going on. I won't misuse any additional powers I get although I may try to create a situation where I can say 'Those aren't the druids you're looking for.'"
"Good, good," says Master Wallash. "I don't understand everything you just said, but I think I get the gist of it. Now I'd like to show you something I've learned."
He then reaches into his pouch again and while keeping his eyes on Guilliame wipes something onto his face below his left eye.
"Would you dance for me please, Guilliame," he says. "It's important."
[OOC: Wallash's Persuasion roll at Advantage; 9 ]
Even though you were not affected by Charm Person and his roll was terrible, I still need you to make an Insight check, if you want to not dance.
Guilliame easily ignores the command to dance and Master Wallash briefly frowns before smirking.
"You resisted my first spell," he says before adding, "Good, I hadn't realised. And that is a good lesson for you to learn. It can be difficult to be sure of the success of some Enchantment magicks as there can be no obvious signs of success other than having the person respond as you want them."
[OOC: Mechanically, this is because the Charm Person spell does not require the caster to Concentrate on it. Not having to concentrate on a duration spell is a distinct advantage because it allows you to cast other spells that do require Concentration (normally, a caster can only Concentrate on one spell at a time), however, the disadvantage here is there is no immediate feedback on whether the spell has been successful, which is the case if a Concentration spell is used.]
He then takes something cloth-like from a pocket of his robe and deliberately drops it on the ground.
[OOC: Wallash's Persuasion roll at Advantage: 20 ]
"Ignore that bag with a snake in it for the moment and look at me," he says, "Can you see the other spell I am using?"
[OOC: Make another Insight check for Guilliame, if you wish to avoid him doing what he is being told to do.]

[OOC: As Guilliame knows the Charm Person spell, he recognises that Master Wallash is using some sort of spell from the School of Enchantment. However, the spell has not been cast on Guilliame. It is instead enhancing Master Wallash so as to make him hard to resist when he makes suggestions.
"Can you see the spell?" asks Master Wallash.
Guilliame can't help himself nod his head in reply.
"It is a simple cantrip," says Master Wallash. "But more important were the words I used..."
He then bends down and picks up what he dropped previously and shows Guilliame that it was a simple handkerchief and not a bag with a snake in it.
"What I said about the snake made it easier to control what you did. You became uncertain as to what was more important: my demonstration of magic, or the chance that there was physical danger. That weakened your resolve allowing my suggestion to take hold causing you to look at me..."
"However," he adds, "Even if you had looked down, you would have been at a disadvantage if I had indeed been trying to use my magic to gain advantage in a face-to-face confrontation. This technique is called 'misdirection' and it is used all the time in a non-magical way by con men and thieves in the markets when they practice their sleight of hand... In a lot of ways, we enchanters are doing the same thing; fooling the subjects of our spells into believing something that is not true."
Master Wallash pauses for a moment before saying, "However, the brain does not like being forced to believe things it doesn't want to and so there will be consequences."
He pauses again, looking at Guilliame with an uncertain look to his face before asking, "How are you feeling now?"
Guilliame is momentarily confused by the question and then he feels a sudden anger come over him at what Master Wallash has done to him. [OOC: The after effect of the Friends cantrip.]
[OOC: Please have Guilliame make an Insight check with Advantage against a DC of 10 to avoid him doing something rash in response to what has been done to him.]
