Guilliame would not be armed but wearing light clothes. Go back into the shop and call out to see if Naomi is awake. 

Guilliame calls back into the shop for Naomi and see her at the doorway in her dressing gown.

"What is it?" she asks. "What is going on? Is there a fire?"

"It looks like something is happening down at Master Fini's house. I will go down. Can you lock up after me and don't open the door to anyone except me unless they say swordfish.

"Swordfish?" queries Granny Naomi. But then she nods and comes to the door. "Speaking of swords, should you be taking yours?"

"You're right. Close the door after me."

Pop back and grab father's dagger and go out with dancing lights spell casting light in middle of the street. Look both ways.

Heading quickly back inside, Guilliame grabs up his father's dagger in its sheath and then goes back to the front door and steps outside, after looking both ways to make sure it is safe.

The door to the shop is shut behind him and he hears the bar being put back into place by Granny.

He then re-casts his Dancing Lights cantrips [OOC: it only lasts 1 minute] and heads down the street.

There are five people clustered around the entrance to the Fini's store, and most of them are looking in through the door. However, as Guilliame approaches, two of them look at him; one of them even takes a step back.

"Guilliame?" says the braver of the two; an elderly man he recognises as a neighbour named Bart. "There's a man in here. He's been torn to shreds."

"Can you keep an eye out here for guards. I'll go in and have a look."

Have a look to see where the man gained entry.

The people step aside to allow Guilliame to approach the entrance of Fini's shop and he see a large sledgehammer lying on the ground that was clearly used to break the lock.

Pushing one of his Dancing Lights in through the doorway, he immediately sees a man's body lying face down on the floor in a pool of blood. 

"You are supposed to be looking after the Fini's place, are you not?" says someone behind him.

Go across to check on the man lying on the ground. Before getting too close see whether he is moving or at least breathing.

"I was keeping an eye on it. But I can't be guarding it 24 hours a day."

"No blame," says the voice, sounding apologetic. "But the guard will want to know who to talk to."

The man appears to be very much dead. He is not breathing and the pool of blood he is lying in is quite large. There is also a strong smell of the toilet in this room.

With a dancing lights spell and dagger drawn move through the rest of the house looking for signs of activity or disturbance.

Guilliame pulls his father's dagger from it sheath and tucks the sheath into the waistband of his trousers. He then directs his four Dancing Lights into the corners of the shop so that it is better illuminated. There is no immediate danger apparent and, apart from the mess near the entrance, this room looks as he remembers it from his last visit.

He steps in through the door and someone behind him says, "Be careful."

Moving between the various tables and benches that hold the wares of the shop, Guilliame makes his way towards the corridor behind the counter that leads to the rest of the building.

Suddenly, there is a thud of something hitting the wooden floor in the darkness beyond the doorway.

"Meow?"

The house cat that Guilliame has seen before on previous visits steps into view from behind the counter its eyes reflecting a lambent orange the light from two of Guilliame's glowing orbs.

"Hello cat. Do you remember me. I am a friend of your master come to tidy up this little mess."

"Meow," goes the cat in response. It then sits on its haunches and starts licking its paws.

Behind him, Guilliame hears someone say, "There is a cat in there."

Then a female voice says, "This shop has been locked up for days, the poor thing must be starving."

"Thank you for your concern madam, but this cat is well looked after. Please don't come in."

"I was not going to," Guilliame hears the woman say quietly behind him.

The cat continues with its washing, apparently unconcerned by the attention it has gained, or the dead body at Guilliame's feet.

"Where are the guards?" a man's voice says behind Guilliame.

"Ali has gone to get them," says another voice. "But that's quite a distance, so it might take a while."

Have a look at door. Is there damage to the door itself or just the lock?

The lock has been broken, presumably by use of the sledgehammer on the ground outside. However, the lock does look like it took a couple of heavy hits before it failed.
