Tabesha'l gives a satisfied pout as she sees the results of her bolt of lightning, yet her eyes widen slightly after realizing that the two snakes are still very much alive ! She readjusts her massive pointy hat - its wide brim was starting to slide down over her forehead - and concentrates as she prepares the arcane words for another spell...

** Using the Hat of Wizardry to try and cast a cantrip: Arcana roll is 8 . **

... unfortunately the wild bucking of the raft under her feet breaks her concentration, and she loses the thread of her spell.

Connak moves to the back and stands poised ready to strike the first snake to crest the water and try to land on board.

(Ready action).

Corwin helps Pell climb up on top of the stack of supplies and then turns to face the water in an attempt to help Connak spot a snake by covering his blind side.

Minsys hefts his maul and looks back at the others and says, "im gonna get me a fancy pair of boots or a nice belt."  He then smiles a wicked smile and turns back to the snakes and lets out a roar.  He then raises the maul ready to strike.

Bonus action rage

Action: ready action to smash first snake on the raft.

Readied Attack: 7 Damage: 15

Just then, a (BROWN) snake nearly as big around as a crocodile shoots forth out of the murky water at Minsys!

(OOC: Connak may make his attack roll from the readied action)

Attack (Constrict): 13 vs. AC 14 (Minsys); dealing 13 bludgeoning damage on a hit. Additionally, if the hit succeeds, the target is grappled by the snake, requiring a successful DC 16 Strength (Athletics) check to escape. 

Connak sees the opportunity he is waiting for and strikes!  (Advantage from Corwin, Sneak Attack from advantage and Minsys)

Attack: 17 Damage: 13

ANDO is assigned the dodge by the DM.

From the side of the raft opposite Minsys, the green snake lunges at Connak with mouth wide open:

Attack (Bite): 16 vs. AC 16 (Connak); 15 piercing damage on a hit.

Vaxis seems to jolt out of his funk. Ever since the bat spoke to him, he seems to have been having a mental conversation with whatever has been haunting him, and merely "following" from place to place.

The sudden attack of the snake on Minsys forcibly JOLTS him back to alertness, and he snarls.

"Stay back, beast! You will not eat thurirl Minsys!"

He stands up, but does not draw his mace, instead offering a prayer to Bahamut and pointing at the beast, launching a Guiding Bolt!

(Attack: 1st level Guiding Bolt on the snake grappling Minsys. To Hit: 7, Damage: 21 radiant, and the next attack against the target has advantage)

Ooc, the attack was shy of Minsys' AC so not grappled at the moment.

" Aldreyhn Un'athenar !"

 Tabesha'l shouts these words of warning in her native elvish at Connak, as she sees the archer besieged by the glistening emerald coils of the massive water snake. At the very same time a mote of fire manifests in her left palm, while the blue jewel at the head of her staff burns low with its own arcane glare.

With a supple fling of her wrist, the dark-haired elven mage hurls the small flaming globe towards the serpent's mid-section.

** Casting Fire Bolt at the Green Snake: Attack: 16 Damage: 6 **

"Yeah, no shit!" Connak barks back at Tabesha'l in common.

Turning to the snake that attacked him, Connak retaliates...

Shortsword Attack: 15 Damage: 17

Then follows up with the dagger in the offhand...

Attack: 10 Damage: 3

(Well, the 2d6 for sneak attack was in the first attack.  Should be +8 damage on the dagger attack if the first missed.)

The green snake hisses angrily as Connak's blade plunges into its soft, unprotected hide. Pell watches from atop the stack of boxes and crates while Corwin attempts to create a distraction while Minsys prepares to strike:

Minsys was moving deeper into his rage. The snake had tried to attack him after he was trying to be peaceful.  His loss as he tries to predict the movement and slam down his maul on it.

Attack: 19 Damage: 11

While group focused their attacks on the green snake, its darker cousin circled the raft looking for an easy target. Corwin's attempt to draw the green snake in to allow Minsys an opportunity to make a devastating strike, left him exposed and vulnerable. Before he realized what was happening, the old man looked down to see a slithering body gliding over his feet and between his legs!

BROWN SNAKE - Attack (Constrict): 7 vs. AC 10 (Corwin); dealing 13 bludgeoning damage on a hit and the target is grappled.

But Corwin was much more spry than his weathered frame revealed and he quickly twisted out of the snake's grasp before it had the chance to entangle him in an embrace of certain death.

The paladin continues to maintain his defensive stance.

The (GREEN) snake is bleeding from several deep wounds, and the water around the raft has become darkly stained with the crimson tint of blood. After Minsys' maul strike, it receded back into the water dipping below the surface and out of sight of the party.

GREEN SNAKE - Action (Hide): 18

"Me boots!" Minsys exclaims as the snake tries to get away.  He takes a final strike at it hoping save his prize.

Attack: 15 Damage: 15

Dex roll to grab onto the snake 5

"By the GODS Connak, stay alive!" Vaxis yells as he unleashes another guiding bolt, this time at the snake attempting to coil around Connak!

(1st level guiding bolt on brown boi. Attack: 22, damage: 12 radiant damage, and the next attack on it gains advantage)

Tabesha'l raises a perfectly plucked eyebrow at the dragonborn's outburst. " Hum, ah yes. Quite so."

She waves her staff towards the remaining reptile and the familiar sounds of lugubrious bells fill the air around the raft.

** Casting Toll the Dead at Mister Brown Snake: WIS Save DC 13 or 10 damage. **

Connak rushes over to help Corwin, saying, "Keep it distracted, but don't try to be a martyr!"  Connak attacks as soon as he sees an opening...

Shortsword Attack: 24 Damage: 9

Offhand dagger Attack: 14 Damage: 1

If Corwyn is beside the brown snake, and threatens it, then sneak attack...

Sneak Attack Damage: 8
