Tabesha'l's heart raced as she stared at the dantesque battle unfolding ahead: as brave - or foolish - as they were, she feared the stakes were too high and her companions would not hold on long...
She looked about, then down at the book, her mind reeling as she tried to mentally flip through the various ways this could go, and none of them seemed to hold any serious chance of triumph. Her only hope lay in her certainty that sooner or later the undead form of the dracolich would reject Viathirix's soul, thus providing them a short respite... while it returned... to... No, it could not be !?
Her eyes rose up to look at the cobalt stone encased atop her staff: it was it that had erupted in bright light, it had been the way the dragon had used to appear and invest the dead body of the younger white wyrm ! She pushed her doubts aside and took her decision there and then: if she was wrong, she'd gain as much time as she could...
But if she was right...
The elven maiden shuddered at the thought of what Viathirix would do to her if she dared to threaten its immortal being, yet she still had to try... after all, the Gift of Flowery Speech was all she had left, she reflected as she plowed ahead and exclaimed:
" Ô Mighty Viathirix ! Look upon THIS: 'tis mine staff, blessed by the Magics of the Pananthyrith ! Thee hath only moments left to exist in thy present form till Cryovain's young carcass reject thee, and thou knoweth 'tis the truth I speak !!! I KNOW THY TRUE SOUL, FOR ITS MOST RECENT RECEPTACLE RESIDES HERE, IN MINE VERY HAND !"
With that, she brandishes her staff, showing the blue stone to the undead monstrosity, all the while telepathically throwing a flurry of frantic thoughts towards Tink:
' If things go astray, tell thy iron friend to stand at the ready... Watch my every move ! And mine thanks, once more. For ever'thing.'
Turning back to Viathirix, showing the staff again:
" IS THIS WHAT THOU DESIRETH, MIGHTY WYRM ? IS THIS THY PHYLACTERY ?"
And all the while the grimoire, almost forgotten, lay craddled in her other hand...

Lonely Existence. It takes her a moment to emerge from the frozen darkness. A sharp light. Her head throbs viciously. She gasps, rising out of unconsciousness to take in a mixture of shapes and a cacophony of sounds, the loudest of which she realizes is the thumping of her own heart. The first thing she feels is that her right cheek is glued to the stone floor by a small layer of ice. Her right eye is frozen shut as well, and she winces as she forces herself to lift her head, tearing away skin, eyelashes and more than a few strands of her beautiful black hair. There, on the floor, lies her crumpled wizard's hat, now a sagging pile of frozen cloth. Next to it is a small puddle of ashes with the remnants of what she identifies as the cover of the grimoire she held in her hand when...
The memories come rushing back at the same time as a sickening wave of pain and abject, almost animal fear. As bile rises in her throat, she spots her arcane staff laying on the floor, almost within arm's reach... there ! Her hand clasps around it, the fingers still stiff and nails purple from the cold.
She hears voices behind her. With a grunt of pain, she turns stiffly towards two figures she vaguely recognizes. The one with the scaly, dragonlike face is Vaxis... the other girl is... elven maybe ?
Tink. Her name was Tink. Everything slowly continues to piece itself together... Her thoughts are sluggish, heavy. All seems to move in slow motion, as in a dream... or more likely a nightmare.
She remembers now, and starts crawling towards them, risking a quick glance to the side from her good eye to see Minsys still in ferocious battle with the dracolich. Wait... was this a runic circle ? And her arcane stone, now black and throbbing with this... evilgleam... ?
Tabesha'l feels a small satisfaction inside the depth of anguish she's enduring, knowing she'd guessed right.

VIATHIRIX Dark energy swirls forth from the magic circle beneath Viathirix, forming the faint image of giant skeletal hands grasping upwards for the undead dragon. Tabesha'l feels a small satisfaction inside the depth of anguish she's enduring, knowing she'd guessed right.
" I... have his phyl... the phylactery..." she says in a raspy trickle of voice as she reaches her companions. " Here..." she points at her staff feebly, " We n... need to... des... troy..."
** Movement: stays prone and crawls 15 feet diagonally to the south-west, using the corner as cover. Free Action: grabs her staff / whispers to her companions. Readied Action: either Dimension Door (if her new level 7 spells are available) if Viathirix moves for her staff OR (if not) Witch Bolt at Fourth Level if the dracolich shows intent to attack her, Vaxis or Tink. **

Unexpectedly ending up in some armory and not in a hallway that circles around the audience chamber, Connak ponders if he should continue to try to circle around, or return? The roar of the dragon's breath being unleashed makes Connak wince and he turns to return back to the arrow slit where he was just moments ago.
(Using movement + action dash + cunning action bonus action dash to undo Connak's last turn)
VIATHIRIX
Dark energy swirls forth from the magic circle beneath Viathirix, forming the faint image of giant skeletal hands grasping upwards for the undead dragon. It's eyes glow fiercely red and it lets out a harrowing wail: "WHAT....IS....THIS?!" booms the monster's hissing voice in anger and confusion. The dracolich lashes out at Minsys:
Multiattack (Bite): 22 vs. AC14 (Minsys); dealing 9 piercing damage plus 4 cold damage.
Multiattack (Claw): 25 vs. AC14 (Minsys); dealing 8 slashing damage.
Multiattack (Claw): 21 vs. AC 14 (Minsys); dealing 4.5 slashing damage.
An evil laugh begins to echo throughout the fortress, but not that of the dracolich...something darker and even more sinister, if that could even be imagined...
Minsys takes the blows and then swings trying to return them. "Just go down!"
