Rhayna is furious now (more like a deliriously angry). She brings forth her pendant to creature that has been (literally) taking chunks of her flesh. Her eyes almost glows radiantly. "Sakonera espiraletara jaitsiko zara!! (Rhayna casts Guiding Bolt. Attack: 22 Damage: 18)

Zeno shouts a thanks to Kastix for the healing, then takes aim at the closest merrow in the lead boat with his hand crossbow, letting it fly then ducking down as low as he can get in the boat.

Feeling the harpoon's piercing blow, Joetaro's eyes flare with rage as he casts another Guiding Bolt to attack the merrow.

Attack: 9 Damage: 16

Sekkar rows the boat to flank remaining attackers. If the is still room for action, he will try to get one with the sword:

Attack: 10 Damage: 10

in a weak hope that flanking worked: Attack: 22 Damage: 12

"Get off!" Kastix shouts as he tries firebolt for lack of options.

Pleased to see the creatures attacking her boat gone she shifts her attention to one of the creatures attacking the other boat.

Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.

Sekkar's skill with the boat is evident, as he manages to paddle quickly up behind the lead boat while balancing his sword on his lap. As Rhayna calls down a moonlit bolt on the merrow's head, Sekkar stabs it from behind, and with a howl of frustration it slips below the water and swims away. Leaning around Sekkar, Kaylyn fires an eldritch blast at Joetaro's attacker, but hits the surface of the water. As the splash goes up Joetaro slashes a vicious cut through the merrow's neck, and it too sinks down into the blood-stained water. Sarith is behind Kaylyn, and can't reach any foes with his shortsword, and Hemeth has slumped below the gunwhales in exhaustion. Kastix can't quite manage to shoot a fire bolt at his target, but succeeds in keeping its attention away from Zeno, who places a crossbow bolt between its shoulder blades. Seeing the battle lost, the final merrow twists around and with a flick of a tail it flees. 

"If you got a way to accelerate our journey, I think we best take it!" Kastix shouts at the guide. 

Joetaro sits back and prays to Selune and closes his eyes. "I never want to see one of those again."

Sekkar shrugged, even if the question was not addressed to him, still, though water could have some disadvantages, but the drow squad was not any better, and at least here was no risk of meeting an illithid. But if Hemeth sped up, so would he.

With the last of the attackers having disappeared Kaylyn drops the spell of invisibility and reappears.

"I wonder if those were the same creatures that attacked the kuo-toa  that fled into the water when the demon attacked?  I guess a nice swim is out of the question?"

"One never knows till he tries, right?" smiled Sekkar, not expecting, though Kaylyn to dive in after the attackers.

After the last of the creature disappear under the water, Rhayna slumps back on the boat. She checks her backpack to make sure Stool is ok. "Are you ok my friend?"

She checks if anyone on the boat needs healing (does Hemeth needs healing?). She doesn't realize that she herself is covered with her own blood all over. She tries to move to check on Hemeth, but her strength fails her, and she sits back down. "Wow... Maybe I should take a break..."

Hemeth is no longer bleeding thanks to Kastix's healing, but he clutches the stump of his hand to his chest and nods weakly at Kastix's request to leave. With a subdued voice he gasps: Didn't expect that ... the merrow ... not usually so ... bloodthirsty. We must be cautious. Leaving the rowing to the others, he remains half-sitting in the back of the boat, peering into the darkness, using his good hand to point the way, and keeping the end of the steering oar tucked under his injured arm. The second boat follows along, with Sekkar guiding the movement of the craft and keeping watch for obstacles. The two boats pass through a network of caverns of varying size, each linked with archways and tunnels. Some are lit with phosporescent fungi that grow on the ceilings, others glow with the strange luminescence of faezress which Hemeth always glances at with caution, but most are darker than a starless night, and all are cloaked in the strange heaviness that utter silence bestows, with only the soft slap of the paddles in the water to break the stillness. After a good four hours of paddling, the duergar indicates a wide ledge nearby to stop and rest. We should be safe here, grunts Hemeth, the merrow don't come this way.

Joetaro nods. "Thank you Hemeth. I hope never to see them again." He stares at the ceiling, missing the stars.

 It was probably beautiful, even romantic - long dark passages dotted with glowing fungus like a night sky with stars. But Sekkar saw it from a practical side, trying to find and memorize the signs Hemeth was using.

When boats stopped, he fastened their to anything suitable and summoned 10 goodberry. Not exactly healing, but the group did not nave a meal for some time now and these should help a little.

"I'll settle for some sleep," Kastix states as he search for a spot to lay down. He'll provides what healing he can if request otherwise, he's sleeping.

Joetaro nods at Kastix's words before finding a surface to lay down. "I would like to get some sleep as well before we move."

Rhayna takes Stool out of the backpack. "It should be safe for you to out of that cramped space my friend." She checks on the little myconid to make sure it is ok. "I think I am going to rest a little..." And Rhayna falls asleep on the spot.

Kaylyn settles into a spot away from the water, Pensive curled up next to her.  After making sure watches had been set she fell asleep.
