Zeno hears the.shouts from his compatriots and he turns, reaching for the stick and whipping out his new sword to slash at the one on Kaylyn.

Kaylyn immediately tries to blast the creature with her Eldritch Blast

 True. Thanks for the reminder. Go ahead and post an action for Round 1, and if you like, for Round 2 (seeing as the Darkmantle missed its attack against you).

Round 2 - He blast missing completely she then tries to push the creature off of her

Ugh, failing completely!

Round 1: Rhayna, still holding high her pendant, blesses Kaylyn, Kastix, Zeno, Sekkar.

Round 2: Rhayna sees that one of the creatures has attached to Kaylyn and casts Guiding Bolt at that creature.

Wow, this took me about 2 hours to figure out. I hope this covers everything, including any requested changes, but I think it works to everyone's advantage.

The five creatures silently float down from ceiling, behind those in the lead boat. Only Sekkar in the vessel behind notices the movement. The airborne pseudodragon also notices and telepathically sends a frantic thought to Kaylyn, who fires a blast of magic almost as a reflex. The shot misses and strikes a stalactite, and the creature descends and wraps itself around Kaylyn. Sekkar speaks a sibilant spell and strikes at the creature with his glowing blade of light, and thorny vines spring out and wrap themselves around the creature.

Four of the creatures descend on the lead boat, wrapping their tendrils around each of the unsuspecting inhabitants. Sensing the commotion in the other boat, Rhayna instinctively raises her amulet to cast a spell of blessing on her companions. The movement is fortuitous, as her outstretched arm prevents one of the creatures from grasping her with its tendrils.

Frantically, Kaylyn attempts to rip the creature off her, but it is damp and slippery and she can't get a grip on the leathery skin, despite the vines entangling it. Sekkar however slashes at it again with Dawnbringer, and the glowing blade slices through the creature's flesh, causing it to loosen its hold and flop lifeless into the boat.

Rhayna is still holding her pendant, and fires a moonbeam at the creature, striking it and causing it to glow with soft moonlight. It retaliates by again lashing out with its tendrils, and manages to latch on to Rhayna's shoulder with painful force. Joetaro manages to rip the creature off his own shoulder with brute strength. The impulsive Kastix risks self-injury by firing rays of fire into his own assailant. The attempt is successful, and he burns three deep holes in its flesh, but as the boat is plunged into darkness, the injured creature slides up Kastix's shoulder and manages to engulge his head, cutting off all light and air. The tiefling channels his inner fiend, mentally lashing back at the creature and causing it to burst into flame and slide off him into the boat.

Kastix's vision does not return however, because at the same moment, the entire boat is plunged into sudden darkness, blinding Rhayna and Joetaro as well. Even the light from Rhayna's spells seems to be extinguished, and the group in the other boat can only see a dome of blackness where their friends used to be. Seeing the sudden darkness engulf the other group, Sarith rolls out of the boat, leaving it rocking in the water. He swims over to the other boat, and disappears in the darkness, although Rhayna can suddenly feel an extra pair of hands trying to pull the creature off her.

Sekkar: Since there were no targets in melee range on Round 1, I changed your turn to a Ready action, and made the first attack as a reaction when there WAS a valid target. You unfortunately don't get the extra attack from Dread Ambusher though.

Zeno: Your target is dead and there are no more targets in melee range. Would you like to take a new action for Round 2? I made a damage roll for crossbow in case you want that, but let me know if you have a preferred target (the creature attacking Rhayna, Joetaro, Hemeth or Kastix)

Joetaro: Is under the effect of Sanctuary 

Kaylyn: Please make a DEX save to avoid falling from the boat after failing to detach the Darkmantle

Kastix: You can survive without breathing for 4 rounds, and continue to act as normal. You're OK.

Rhayna: Make a Concentration check. Passed. 

Kaylyn, Sekkar, Zeno and Kastix are blessed

Kastix will like to use reaction to use Hellish Rebuke for being crushed by #1.

Rhayna CON save: 16

Joetaro is going to cast Sanctuary on himself as a bonus action. 

(So, remaining Darkmantles are on the first boat only now?)

 Yes. Sekkar/Kaylyn/Zeno can't see the other boat though, but there are still three darkmantles there.

Kastix will fire a Fire Bolt at any Darkmantle he cant.

Kaylyn feels the body of the creature pulling her to the water and she tries to maintain her balance and stay in the boat

Zeno’s first attach can go against the one attacking Hemeth.

Zeno is kinging up his next shot, then the other boat goes black. He looks back and forth across the boat for a moment, dumbfounded, then swears, holsters his crossbow and dives into the water.  (Movement and Bonus Action to Dash.  If Action left, I’ll help Kaylyn if she’s in the water, or Attack something from the water. If needed, will use Action to Dash instead also.

(Sarith is laying at the bottom of the boat panicking? :) This is probably the time to teach him boats handling, so at least he could relieve everyone from that duty.)

While Zeno was saving Kaylin, Sekkar kept the boat from spinning and crashing into anything. When/if everyone is safely on board, he would try to get us closer to the leading boat and continue the fight.

(Is Rhayna still blind? If so, can she cast Guiding Bolt on the same creature that attacked her?)

Just to clarify ...

Kaylyn wasn't being pulled into the water by the creature. But because she failed her STR save to unattach the creature, there is a chance she would lose her balance and fall out of the boat. She passed her DEX save though, so there is no need to rescue her from the water.

Sarith isn't panicking - in fact for once he's being kinda useful. He voluntarily jumped out of the boat and swam to the other boat to help, and is now trying (albeit failing) to remove the creature from Rhayna.

Rhayna is in darkness and can't see, so yes she is blinded, but Guiding Bolt doesn't say 'a target you can see', only one within range. She can attack with Guiding Bolt, but with disadvantage (both for being blind and for a ranged attack at point-blank). All others in the same boat are also blinded (Kastix, Joetaro, Hemeth, and now Sarith).

(Sorry. The creature was hit before, so does that cancel out the disadvantage? That’s why I am giving Guiding Bolt another shot.)
