Aye, this here is Ghohlbrorn's Lair, and the only inn that outsiders be permitted to stay at. It would be best if ye stayed here until I return, but if ye need to buy and sell then the Bazaar be just up top. That'll be where all the commerce is at, ye need not look elsewhere. Just keep a low profile. As fer contacts, well to be honest I don't really operate in the established circle of merchants, so I cannae recommend anyone, but I hear that Kruthga Coalhewer is a fair trader. Ye'll have to ask fer her.
If ye cannae last a tenday without a drink then maybe ye can seek out the Shattered Spire tavern at the other end of the district, but no further. There's only one temple in the city, which be just across this road. It's the temple to Laduguer, but it also happens to be the headquarters of the Stone Guard, so unless ye wish to end up in the dungeon, then I'd stay away from there if I were ye. As fer books and libraries, well I don't know myself, but if there are they'd be in the Southfurrow. But outsiders are not allowed there. Ye cannae leave the Darklake District.
"Ohh." Says Rhayna half disappointed, but she did figure the odds were not good. "May Selune guide your way Mr. Hemeth. Thank you."
Rhayna looks forward to sleep on a comfortable bed, and she just remembered that she still has to record the strange dreams she had the other night.

"I can live without the booze," (he truly can and actually did not understand the point of alcohol) "but if we are staying we need a room. Or rooms". Personally, Sekkar did not care, just needed a corner to sleep safely, without some monster trying to eat you. "Who keeps the coins?"

"Personally, I also have no need of alcohol, so no reason to go there. We'll only find trouble if we head for the tavern. Tomorrow though, I will need to get some gear unless there is time to do it now. But we will need to stay together. We'll be less likely to have trouble, and most of us won't be be able to communicate." Kaylyn says thoughtfully. "I would like better armor, a pack, rations, etc..."
Sekkar nodded to every word - pretty shiny baubles are great when you need to sway a mate, but in normal days weapon, armor and food were much more important. Still, room was needed - who knows, someone else can claim the last one while the party is gone.
Zeno walks up with the others to find rooms, laying down the necessary gold for the night’s stay from his pack. “I’d love to look around, but no reason to get into trouble.” He casts a look back at the Darklake. “Sure hope nothing comes out of that thing again.”
As the group turn to look for the innkeeper, they spot a squinty-eyed duergar sitting at a stone bench in a nearby dark corner. He calls out gruffly: One gold per head per night, includes a meal. No making any trouble or you'll be staying with the Stone Guard. And with that he holds out his hand. Coins are handed over, and he reaches for six heavy iron keys and offers one to each.
So much for sleeping in a comfortable bed! The rooms are the most plain and austere accommodation imaginable - in fact Zeno has seen prison cells with more decor. Each room is hewn out of the rock, and has a raised stone platform that serves as a bed, and beside it on the floor is an iron washbasin. Another stone bench on the other wall appears to be a simple shelf. Either the duergar like to sleep on cold hard stone (which might actually be true from what you've seen) or they just don't see the reason to put much effort into an inn for foreigners. At least each 'bed' has a musty blanket, and Rhayna's room even has what looks like a quaggoth-skin covering the stone, which a former occupant probably left behind, so at least that's something.
At the end of the hall another large room features several long stone benches and simple iron stools, and appears to be the dining hall. Seated at the benches are two orcs eating loudly nearest the door, two dark-skinned gnomes talking quietly in the middle of the room, and at the far end is a male drow seated alone.
It is a little over halfway through the day.

Compare to the drow's slave pen and wet rocks the party used to sleep lately, the stone bed with some blanket on it was a luxury. Getting food on top of that all - a pure blessing. The place did not feel like an absolutely safe heaven, but what did? Sekkar was the first one to the dining room. He narrowed his eyes at the drow, took his food and sat closer to the orcs, nodding in acknowledgement of their presence without intruding.
Once in her room and alone Kaylyn inspects the sparse room. She quietly casts Prestidigitation to clean up the blanket and bed space and anything else that looks too dirty.
Once settled she takes her meager belongings with her. Heading out to the common area she joins Zeno. She notes the other occupants but does not nod or acknowledge them.
"We have plenty of day left. Im not keen on waiting a ten day for Hemeth to return to gather supplies. If we need to leave town quickly I'd like to have better gear. You speak some Undercommon do you not? Can you help me do a supply run? " she asks Zeno.
"Friends, if you do not mind. I would like to retire to my room. I have much to catch up in regard to updating my Journal." Says Rhayna looking forward to spend some time alone with her thoughts.

Joeato nods. "Yes, thank you Hemeth. Would you know of a temple we could visit?"
