Neither the orcs, the gnomes or the drow give the lizardman or the tiefling a second glance. The humans and half-elves attract significantly more attention, particularly from the orcs as they continue leering and laughing and making jokes in Orcish (presumably by the loud laughter that follows). Sarith gasps and stiffens when he sees the drow in the corner, but retains his composure through the meal. After leaving the room, Sarith confers with Zeno saying:
Drow hori Faen Tlabbar fakziokoa da, nire Mizzrym fakzioaren aurkari mingotsa. Arazoak sor ditzake.
That drow belongs to House Faen Tlabbar, a bitter river of House Mizzrym. He could cause us some trouble.

Kaylyn made the right shopping list: backpacks, rations, weapon/armour of better quality (Sekkar would not search for a weapon, of course, but better armour/shield - why not).
"I am very sorry my little fellow. Perhaps a little stroll through this town might cheer you up?" Rhayna says with a smile then picks up Stool. "I believe that we are close to your home. Just hang in there a little bit more."

Arising after rest, the fugitives feel more rested and refreshed than they have in many days. Evidently the 'day' has begun in Glackstugh, as the noise from the cities forges and the nearby bazaar drifts down from the streets above, and the group soon head up the stairs to see what is on offer. The atmosphere as before is thick with haze and heat, making it somewhat difficult to breathe, along with the constant clanging from the forges throughout the city, making it difficult to think! A red glow seems to reflect off every surface, making the whole area feel like an industrialised version of hell.
The majority of shoppers are duergar, and they haggle in Dwarvish. In addition, there are lots of foreign shoppers: about a dozen deep gnomes, two pairs of hobgoblins, the three orcs from the inn, and a couple of drow. Most of the merchants at the stalls are duergar, with the odd deep gnome, but some of the manual labor is supplied by slaves, which vary between quaggoths, grimlocks, and a few shield dwarves, kobolds or goblins. Scattered throughout the crowd are several duergar guards on patrol. They seem so few in number for the size of the crowd in the bazaar, until the first time someone notices a guard appear or disappear using their racial power of invisibility, suggesting that many more guards are actually present than can be seen. Giant tarantulas as large as ponies are used as beasts of burden and crawl past carrying goods to and from the market. Several even larger spiders (or 'steeders' as they seem to be called) are used as duergar mounts, either by merchant bosses or Stone Guard captains, both of whom look down with disdain and suspicion on the 'outsiders'. And amongst all this, the occasional grey-skinned stone giant ambles casually along, the crowd wisely parting to allow it to pass.
It is soon clear why the market is called the Blade Bazaar - most of the items on sale are weapons. The Steelshadow clan seems to dominate the market for bladed weapons, and their stalls and tables stretch far along the waterside and are the most popular among the foreign races. There are longswords, broadswords, bastard swords, claymores and katanas, there are glaives and halberds, voulges and bardiches, there are battleaxes and handaxes, there are scimitars and falchions, rapiers and sabres, shortswords and saxes, daggers, dirks and stilettos. The Ironhead clan don't seem to have the same panache for blades, but they produce a much wider range of high quality weapons, and the duergar customers seem to gravitate here. Heavy weapons such as hammers, maces, flails and mauls, and all their variant sizes and shapes, are displayed alongside clubs, staves and spears, as well as bows, crossbows, javelins, slings and darts.
It is quickly apparent that the weapon vendors expect to sell in bulk, and they bargain more enthusiastically with the hobgoblins and orcs, who seem to be purchasing large quantities of armaments. They are more reluctant to sell individual items, especially to outsiders, but not too proud to part with their wares for a little extra than the market price. (All weapons and ammunition will cost 10% more than stated in the PHB)
Most of the other merchants are less focused on bulk sales, and willing to trade for fair prices. The Thrazgad armorsmiths deal in all metal armors, while the Parlynsrk clan sell clothing as well as armor constructed from leather and hide. The Anvilthew toolmaker clan sell all manner of artisan tools. The Thordensonn clan trade in rare jewels and gems, while the Thuldarks deal in precious metals. A refreshing variety of food and rations is available from the Henstak clan stalls. All are willing to sell to 'outsiders' for market prices. Only the Xornbane clan, who have the best variety of general adventuring gear, make an attempt to overcharge for their wares, but some brief inquiries into the name given by Hemeth lead you to Kruthga of the Coalhewer clan, who has most of the same items for sale at regular prices. Besides all these, the metalworking clans buy raw ingots from the Firehand smeltering clan, who in turn are buying ores from the Xardelver, Saltbaron and Coalhewer mining clans. The Blackskull stonemason clan, the Muzgardt brewer clan, the Hammercane construction clan, the Xundorn steeder-breeder clan, the Bukbukken farming clan and the Burakrinwurn dockworker clan are also represented.
At one point, the din of bartering is briefly interrupted as several duergar conduct a brief slave auction from a nearby platform. A miserable-looking halfling and three wretched goblins attract enough interest to be eventually sold off and carted off, while two subdued grimlocks are enthusiastically bid on and likewise led away.
Sekkar:
While browsing through the market, a duergar merchant from the Saltbaron clan approaches Sekkar and tries to convince him (against all obvious evidence to the contrary) that he is a long-lost member of the clan, and insists on giving him and his friends food and shelter. Dawnbringer's voice is heard in Sekkar's mind saying with amusement "Got a few too many notches in his blade, I'd say!"
Kaylyn:
While browsing through the market, Kaylyn occasionally activates her detect magic ability. At one point while browsing through the stalls of the Thordensonn jeweler clan, Kaylyn senses that one of the polished and cut lapiz lazuli gems among a pile of identical gems has a magical vibe. To avoid bringing it to the merchant's notice, Kaylyn engages the merchant in conversation, then with Pensive watching the pile of gems, Kaylyn activates the aura, allowing Pensive to recognise the glow of evocation magic around a specific gem. The gems sell for 10 gp each.
Rhayna:
While browsing through the markets, the observant Rhayna can't help but notice out of the corner of her eye a curious figure darting between the stalls and shops of the bazaar, apparently unseen (or perhaps ignored) by the guards or the merchants. He resembles a small dwarf, with blue-grey skin and white hair and beard, but with uniformly pale white eyes, reminding her of Buppido from the drow slave pits. He is dressed in rags styled in imitation of a fancy jacket. He wears a wide-brimmed hat to the crown of which have been sewn two tentacles of some unidentified creature. A large satchel hangs from his shoulder, and he constantly mutters to himself. Rhayna watches him for a short while, but soon loses him in the crowd.
Kastix:
Sarith accompanies Kastix as they browse the markets, keeping a wary eye out for any danger. At one point they both witness a rather disturbing event. Several of the Stone Guard (who patrol invisible more often than not) stop one merchant and become abusive. Overhearing the argument, it seems the guards have taken offense to the merchant wearing a gold pin, and claiming that such adornment is frivolous and heretical. They begin beating the merchant, and Sarith quietly warns Kastix not to intervene, saying that such interference would surely get him arrested or killed. The guards leave the merchant bloodied and unconscious, and even other bystanders refrain from going to his aid, though the drow and tiefling overhear them comment on how unnatural the guards' violent response is to such a minor matter, and how common such behaviour is becoming.
Zeno:
The Thordensonn jewelers casually inspect Zeno's gemstones, then offer him a total of 180 gold for the three azurites, the moonstone, the eleven zircons, and the onyx ring. (Zeno can multiply the above offer by a percentage equal to what he can roll on a Persuasion check)
Zeno receives a cold reception from the Thuldark goldsmiths until he shows them the bronze cup. The duergar admire it and hand it around, and offer Zeno 30 gold for it (more than he valued it at himself), and then seem willing to inspect his other valuables. For the gold ewer, gold bracelet and silver necklace, they offer him an additional 375 gold pieces (again, multiply by a percentage based on another Persuasion check).
The only duergar who seems to recognise Zeno's subtle Thieves' Cant is one of the Henstak clan food vendors. Her name is Ylsa and after a few non-verbal passes she invites Zeno into a small back office. Ylsa explains to Zeno that minor crime is rare in Gracklstugh. The duergar live by a strict code of honor, and as both guards and regular citizens are able to turn invisible, and with capital punishment as a penalty, theft and burglary are almost unheard of. Although she is willing to sell him the burglar's supplies and thieves' tools he is seeking, she tells him this as a warning, but also to ask for his help.
As one of the very actual few thieves and smugglers in the city, Ylsa doesn't want the increased vigilance of the Stone Guard to hamper her operations. But there is a new guild of thieves operating within Gracklstugh, using derro and 'outcast' duergar (known as calassabrak) and the odd escaped slave, which are gaining notoriety. Ylsa has been unable to detect where they are operating from, but expects it to be based somewhere in derro territory, which is a place the duergar can't easily enter. If Zeno is able to find out about the Gray Ghosts as they have become known, and where their base of operations is, then she would be willing to part with a piwafwi, and magic cloak of concealment crafted by the drow, of which she has little use herself.
Joetaro:
The Steelshadow clan offer a wide range of longswords and their variants, so its easy to find something if that is what is desired.
The Thrazgad armorsmiths offer the best in heavy armour, and it is a relatively simple matter to purchase ring or chain mail to fit. However, a suit of splint mail will require two days to modify to size, while a full set of plate armor will require five days to adjust.
How about we do the buy/sell discussion and calculation in the private chat thread, and you can roleplay it (and everything else) here.

Sekkar was admiring a breastplate (sadly, at least 65 golds too expensive for him) when the "long lost clansman" came to beg him to "return home". The dwarf looked harmless enough and guards were way too close to apply any force, so, lizardman (completely agree with his sword that this is is not a trap but one crazy loony, simply promised in dwarven to visit as soon as he gets the time and turned away (if need to be, he is ready play hid-and-seek with annoying "cousin").

Rhayna will check the merchants for anyone that might sell a whip, and also adventuring gears for the travel ahead. While looking for her item, she tries to see if she can see the small odd looking dwarf she saw earlier. (Perception: 17)
She will also look for a armor smith that might sell chain shirts for her size.
Rhayna asks Stool in her backpack. "Hey Stool, do you sense any other myconid in the area?"

Kaylyn perused the wares for sale, buying the gear and supplies that she wants and needs. It feels good to have gold to spend and be able to get properly outfitted again. With some extra gold left she wanders the stalls of the Thordensonn jeweler clan. Nothing too fancy she tells herself but maybe something will strike her as befitting.
Surreptitiously she casts detect magic as she shops, one never knows. One of the gems catches her eye, the pale blue glows briefly as she quickly ends the spell. Selecting another gem along with the one that seemed to have a magical hint she makes the purchase.
Satisfied with the gear she has acquired she accompanies the others.
When she overhears Sekkar mutter about being short gold to buy the breastplate she offers to help cover the difference.
"I'd feel better if you had the better armor. I'll help cover the extra, maybe one of the others could also."
"Thanks, that will help indeed."He gave his usual toothy smile: "Will stay longer between you, mages, and the whatever attacks us next. But say, do we plan to stay in that inn for the rest of ten days? Might ask around for a work while we are here. I say something is still allowed for outsiders."
Zeno peruses the wares of the various stalls, picking up his goods and arming himself further.
Persuasion #1: 23 His tradings with the jewelers go well enough, and hie is able to make some fair coin off of the gemstones they’ve picked up.
Persuasion #2: 15 He’s a bit suspicious at their interest in the bronze cup, and studies it himself some more at their offer. He does succeed in haggling a bit more on the other jewelry.
He is immensely pleased with the encounter with Ylsa Henstack, and with the goods he picks up at her shop, and he agrees to do what he can to look into the Gray Ghosts.
Returning to the others he fills them in on what he learned about the gang operating out of derro territory, and that there would be some personal benefit to himself if they can find the location of their base in derro territory. (OOC: Um..where is derro territory?)
Rhyana, quietly, mentions to Zeno that she briefly saw someone that looked like at the market. No one seemed to pay him any attention. Unfortunately, she lost sight of the person.

Kaylyn made sure the innkeeper was promptly paid each day for her room, reminding the others to do so also."

Back in their rooms, Zeno speaks up. “I traded the trinkets at the bazaar. Why don’t I keep these as party funds and take care of paying for our rooms with them?”
”Also, I would like to look into this thieve’s guild that has formed. Rhayna’s derro sounds shifty... likely a member of this organization. The Duergar seem to be really concerned about it. If we can follow him back and find where they are hiding, I can secure an item which would be very helpful for someone with my talents in the road ahead. Sekkar would you want to join me on this? Anyone?”
"Sure, why not."Sekkar was curious - as much as the more cautious part of the group (and his own coldblooded and practical side) was right about waiting in the inn... he felt that spark of interest (or may be it came from the sword that spent hundreds of years underground alone?). Anyway, Sekkar would be glad to stretch his lags.

"Thanks, that will help indeed." He gave his usual toothy smile: "Will stay longer between you, mages, and the whatever attacks us next. But say, do we plan to stay in that inn for the rest of ten days? Might ask around for a work while we are here. I say something is still allowed for outsiders."
(Added a breastplate)

Stool does something that reminds Rhayna of sniffing the air, but in actuality was a chemotactic sensory detection of myconid spores. Stool could only convey to Rhayna an impression of disappointment at not finding any trace of its kind. There is no further sighting of the odd character from earlier.
(A brief post, but I wanted to finalise the shopping before moving on, including whether anyone decides to wait for armor to be fitted or weapons to be silvered)
How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
"I feel better now that we are outfitted properly again. I would personally prefer to lay low for the remaining days until Hemeth returns. I'd rather not draw attention, my Half-elf features have drawn enough I think."
Kaylyn made sure the innkeeper was promptly paid each day for her room, reminding the others to do so also."
"We do not want to draw attention to ourselves. We are still on the run and the drow seem welcome enough here that news of our escape may reach this place. "
Back in her room she spends time trying to determine the nature of the magical gem she purchased. If she cannot she'll ask Rhayna to do cast Identify on it.
Zeno will look around for the derro Rhayna mentions.
(Assuming nothing found...)
Anyone?”
"Sure, why not." Sekkar was curious - as much as the more cautious part of the group (and his own coldblooded and practical side) was right about waiting in the inn... he felt that spark of interest (or may be it came from the sword that spent hundreds of years underground alone?). Anyway, Sekkar would be glad to stretch his lags.

After going to the shop, Joetaro goes back to rest at the inn.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
"Sure.... I am interested in that strange fellow." Says Rhayna hesitantly, but excited.
