Rhayna looks up in time to see the slime oozing through the cracks in the ceiling, and smacks it with her spore-infused staff as it drops. In response, the ooze lashes out with a slimy pseudopod (Attack: 4 Damage: 6 bludgeoning + 4 acid) which impacts on the shoulder of her splint armor, leaving an acrid residue that causes the metal plates to sizzle and burns through the underlaying leather and into her skin.
The ooze above Zeno attempts to land on top of him (Attack: 20 Damage: 4 bludgeoning + 8 acid) and does so, but schlumpfs off before it can engulf his head. But the impact leaves a similar painful acidic residue on Zeno's head and neck.
Zeno's action to come, but I'll add one more important detail...
Amongst the sudden chaos of the attacking oozes, the strange floating skeletal figure in the corridor draws nigh to the room's doorway. It isn't quite upright, and beside it floats a black metal mace. Suddenly realisation dawns on Rhayna. The skeleton and mace are suspended inside a large block of transparent jelly that is slowly moving into the room, and behind which the water is building up. Is the voice coming from the skeleton trapped inside, or from the jelly itself?
We will fight the Lady. We will feast on... the fungus. I am gathering... them. (And Rhayna gets the idea that it is referring to the oozes) Oh... Are you food? You are talking food. Food is good, but talking is better. I will tell them. I will lead them...
Rhayna gets the impression that the intelligence behind the voice is learning new words and new ideas as the conversation progresses. But after the last phrase the mental connection abruptly breaks off. An instant later there is a change to the behaviour off the attacking oozes, which immediately back away a few feet from Rhayna and Zeno.
First round action for Zeno, and then second round for Rhayna and Kaylyn. Not very inclusive, I know.
No-one else is privy to the conversation in Rhayna's mind, but Zeno notices the behaviour of the oozes. Anyone that subsequently enters the room will simply see Zeno and Rhayna in combat mode, five oozes scattered through the room, and a gelatinous cube in the north doorway with a skeleton inside.
(Providing Pax's action in advance.) Pax, hearing battle, taps her boots together (BA), and rushes into the room. Looking around at the enemies spread before them, she casts a spell (Armor of Agathys at 2nd level), the shadows on the floor seem to crawl up her legs, a blue mist pouring from them as she becomes sheathed in the magic. Then she rushes into the midsts of the smaller oozes, hoping to draw their attention away from her allies.

"They can melt metal!" Sekkar's suspicion was confirmed a bit sooner than he hoped, so on the way to the battle he hurried with information that could help. "It's like fighting a lot of water - you can not burn it or really freeze."He assessed the danger preparing to strike.
Stepping to the entrance of the room Kaylyn focuses her attention on the ooze that is closest to Rhayna. She realizes what would have stripped the skeleton so clean. She sends 2 blasts of energy at the ooze closest to Rhayna.
Rhayna holds her staff with one hand, and with the other she raises it signaling for her friends to halt. "Please, be ready, but do not engage the oozes. There is a presence here, and we may be able to work with it...?" She then addresses the skeleton/jelly. "If you would like to fight The Lady, she is actually not that far from here, and I can tell you where she is headed. Perhaps, we can help each other."

Rhayna calls out her warning, but as the others have not entered the room yet, her voice echoes off the walls and her words are poorly understood. Kaylyn rushes in and slams two energy bolts into the ooze closest to Rhayna, which seems to lose its structure and breaks apart, dissolving into the surrounding water. The other oozes keep their distance, retreating further toward the edges of the room and climbing partway up the walls, so Pax takes guard in the room's center, turning vigilantly and preparing to defend against any that strike. Sekkar and Kastix soon follow, but with the immediate danger averted they too stand alert and waiting.
The voice touches Rhayna's mind anew and says: They will not eat you now. They follow me. Oh, more food! Does it also talk?
Then responding to Rhayna's invitation, the voice says: Yes, help each other. First I lead. You follow.
The next sentence is accompanied by a mental impression conveying the child-like delight and pride that the intelligence feels at having constructed a complex sentence with several new words.I will lead the talking food that doesn't like water to something that will help each other. And with that, the gelatinous cube in the doorway starts moving slowly away from the room along the northern corridor...

"Apparently, talking to the jello." After conversations with the fungus, weapons, floating fluff and whats not, talking to jello was not such a big deal, but Sekkar did not trust that blobs of nastiness for a bit, and watched their every move.
"This is point, I'm sure we're entered wonderland and just high from shrooms in a dark comer I think." Kastix remarks as he keeps a distance but follows the party.
(I should mention, to due holidays and many other things, I'm brunt out, a bit lost in this story and one other adventure so I'll be lagging behind in activity as I try to right myself and figure out what's going on)

"Who is talking to the Jello and why aren't the rest of you fighting these creatures off?" Kaylyn remarks as she watches the remaining jellos retreating further toward the edges of the room and climbing partway up the walls. "What is going on?" she asks her arms up ready to blast another jello but her voice clearly is confused.
Sekkar glanced at Kaylyn "Rhayna befriended one of the oozes, I think. Asked us to not attack them and looks like they are going away too. But keep an eye on the monsters - never heard of them honoring any deal. Heck, never thought you can try to deal with them."
Now Rhyana put both of her hands up, one still holding the staff. "Please do not attack friends, for they are standing down. Follow the skeleton. It believes that it is Ghaunadaur, an ancient drow deity. Or at the very least it believes that it is him. If I am not mistaken, its domain is abominations and slimes. Now, one thing is for sure, it doesn't like fungi, and I believe that it thinks that we are food. It is, however, willing to help us for the moment, with the flood. Also, I proposed that it goes after The Lady, for she is the mother of all fungi afer all. So, hopefully we can help each other out." Rhayna starts to follow the skeleton/jelly.

The gelatinous blob fills the space from wall to wall, and almost all the way to the ceiling, taking roughly the form of a large cube as it moves slowly up the corridor; slow not just due to its ponderous nature but because of the large buildup of water behind it. (Well, now in front of it, I guess. Unless it is now going backwards. Or was it going backwards in the first place?) But it is only about fifteen feet before the corridor widens considerably and the cube can no longer extend across the entire width, when the built-up water comes rushing around the sides and gushes down the corridor past the group. The wave is easily three feet high and the smooth stone floors and walls make it difficult to retain a solid footing.
For the sake of simplicity, I'm going to make an executive decision here and say that Rhayna is the first to follow the cube, followed by Sekkar, then Pax, then Kaylyn, and all need to make a DC 13 STR save to avoid being washed away by the wave. (Zeno and Kastix are more cautious and haven't made it into the hallway yet, so are exempt from the wave.) But if the person in front of you fails their save, then they get swept into you and you have to roll with disadvantage. So... Rhayna is in front and can roll as normal, but Sekkar/Pax/Kaylyn please roll with disadvantage, and I'll apply if needed. If you fail the save you take 3d6 bludgeoning damage and are knocked prone and swept back into the room with the oozes. If you pass, you stay put and take no damage.

(One small erratum... gray oozes apparently don't climb walls. The adventure said they poured through cracks in the ceiling, which I suppose is legit, but otherwise they stay on the ground. So ignore the bit about them climbing walls. It didn't happen. You're seeing things. This place can make you go crazy like that...)
