Kaylyn stays in the market place to help calm the gnomes and hopefully provide some reassurance that they as surface dwellers mean to help and protect. She'll take the opportunity to don her new armor and hand out items that have been purchased to those they were meant for.
Rhayna is ready to investigate this "oozing" problem further.
(I was also going to suggest to "lock" the door behind us. :-)

The intrepid adventurers assemble at the large steel door, while several dozen gnomes look on, talking excitedly. Word has travelled fast, and half the city seems to have turned out to observe the surface-dwellers enter the forbidden parts of the city. Jimjar can be seen moving among the crowd, no doubt attempting to financially capitalise on the opportunity. A guard approaches with a set of keys, and inserts them one at a time into a series of locks and bolts. It takes four gnomes tugging at the heavy door to budge it, but with a loud creak it slowly opens to reveal a dark tunnel beyond. The guards wait nervously for the surface-dwellers to enter the tunnel and then, with another loud creak, close the door behind them with a clang. The sound of locks being re-engaged echoes in the dark tunnel.
Immediately noticeable is the feeling of humidity and the sheen of dampness on the tunnel walls. The heavy door also insulates sound most efficiently, and the eerie silence of the tunnel is a stark contrast to the bustle of the busy trading grotto of a moment before. As eyes adjust to the darkness, and ears to the silence, more details slowly begin to emerge. The tunnel runs a short distance and then opens into a large cavern, about 200 feet high. Half-visible from their current position, the group can see the edge of a huge sphere in the cavern, itself about 150 feet in diameter and seemingly floating between the roof and the floor. Echoes of dripping water can be heard bouncing off the walls.

Rhayna's magical light illuminates the area, causing stalactites on the ceiling in the cavern beyond to cast moving shadows. The curious cleric only needs to move forward a few dozen feet before she notices that the walls and ceiling at the end of the tunnel and of the entire cavern beyond are coated in slime — dripping, sickening green slime that drips from the stalactites and splatters squelchily to the floor. As the sphere comes into view, Rhayna can see it is elevated 10 feet off the ground, held up off the floor by pillars, and has several wide ramps without railings climbing to small, open doorways. The sphere's surface is covered with all manner of slime - black slime swirls with yellow and gray slime in a disgusting soup, the unearthly patterns in the movements of the slime straining the eyes and tugging at the mind.
The slime dripping from the ceiling draws Rhayna's eyes toward the floor. As each drop splatters to the ground, Rhayna can see that the ground is not the solid stone that she expected. The floor is moving! From the end of the tunnel and throughout the cavern the floor is covered with living oozes of all descriptions - hundreds of them filling the cavern, heaving slowly in different directions, crawling around the pillars and over each other, reaching out randomly with grasping pseudopods, and making soft squelching noises as they move.

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
Pax stands very still for a few moments watching with horror filled eyes.....and then spins about on one heel and walks out of the cave back towards the door.... at least that what she wishes could do. Instead her feet both stay planted solidly on the ground. She sucks in a slow deep breath, and then in a whispering voice says, "Ok....who knows about these creatures. We should all know what we're dealing with before we do anything else. Green ones, black ones, clear ones....what kills them? How do they work? Does anyone know?"
Is there a check we can make?

Kaylyn slowly moves forward with Rhayna and she realizes her vision is better than she realized when Rhayna sends out a light but she can see just as easily before the light. She watches the oozes for some time wondering what types they were.
Nature 14
But ooze was not something she knew much about.
"We're going to end up going in that sphere aren't we?" She whispers to Rhayna.
Silently she orders Pensive to fly up and around and recon the area as she watches through his eyes.
Pensive flies into the cavern, circling around the sphere without getting too close. The swirling morass of slime on the sphere's surface makes it difficult to look at, but through Pensive's eyes Kaylyn catches glimpses of what she recognises as Dwarvish runes carved above the doorways. The oozes spread out on the ground stretch beyond the main cavern and continue into the tunnels beyond - hundreds of them all smooshed together. The green slime continues to drip from the stalactites, and Pensive has to duck and weave to avoid it
(Please make a DC 10 DEX save for Pensive)
As Pensive is completing his circuit, a disembodied voice fills the cave, speaking in Undercommon: What’s this, what’s this? Visitors? Now? Not yet! We’re not ready! Go away, pests! Just as the last words echo off the walls, the mass of oozes stops moving in its usual churning randomness and starts softly rippling in the direction of the group...

Of course it was talking! And really, had to be expected even by Sekkar. THough, why "even"? Anyone not blind could see the pattern - from talking mushrooms to sort of small talking jell-o to the big one. Natural progression!
Right now Sekkar sounded in his head more irritated than Dawnbringer ever was and had every reason to.
"Ssssoooo...," as always in moments of ... let's say "distress" the lizardman's hissing was more prominent, "another great Ooze awaiting for a great feast! Or is it yet another demon? How many do they have down there?!"

Other than the large heavy steel door with multiple locks behind the group, there is no way out other than past the endless swarm of black puddings, gray oozes, ochre jellies, gelatinous cubes, and the-gods-only-know-what-else, filling the green slime-coated tunnels and moving ever closer. Kastix's question seems to be answered as the closest oozes start to extend hungry psuedopods toward the nearest of the warm fleshy morsels before them...
