Prince Livid: Recharge 3 Pudding King WIS save v Toll: 2
The black princess clings desperately to the ceiling as Kastix's flaming rays burn deep smoking holes in it's shapeless form, but it seems to be too much and it drops to the floor. A desperate attempt to move and strike out again is quickly and permanently terminated by two more blasts from Kaylyn, and Princess Ebonmire finally breaks apart and spreads out across the cavern floor with a hissing sound.
With the Pudding King now taking pudding-form, his black mass rising up from behind the throne above Sekkar for all to see, he is easily targeted by all in the cavern. Two spectral books slam into it, causing small mossy patches to appear on its surface. Pax rushes in an strikes with a thunderous blow, but despite the obvious damage, the cut slices right through the black mass dividing it in two. The two halves begin to move in an attempt to encircle and flank around Sekkar, but with a ferocious and savage frenzy the lizardman sinks his teeth and blade into one half, then whirls around and drives his sword right through the other half.
The two masses sink to the floor, slowly merge together, and then shimmer and twist until the withered grey gnome lies prone on the ground in front of Sekkar and Pax. With a croak, he raises one feeble arm and says in Undercommon: You haven’t won! No! We will rise from our children! We will be reborn from the Faceless Lord! Juiblex will consume the banquet of the Queen of Fungi and we … will … all … grow … ! And with a final gasp the arm drops to the floor and Pudding King lies motionless.
Moments later, the sound of cheering can be heard from the distant caverns where the main fight is taking place. Clearly the tide of battle has suddenly turned in Bligdenstone's favour.
Pax raises her sword up in the air, "WOOOOOO!! Way to go guys!!!" She slaps Sekkars shoulder, "Ya!! Wooh......we did it. Take that slimes!" She grins and flashes a big thumbs up back towards Kaylyn and Kastix. "Awesome!"

Pax steps between Sekkar and Kastix with a smile on her helmed face. She pulls the helmet off, sweaty strands of orange hair tumbling down her face, "Hey now you two. Crap happens in battle, it was short, but...intense and people were moving all over very quickly. We'll all try to do better next time, I'm sure. So....let's go see how our gnome allies fared, shall we?"
She pats Sekkar on the shoulder once more and heads towards the cave where the gnomes were battling. Shadowy darkness swirls around her body, leaving behind a whispy trail of black smoke that fades behind her as she walks away.
The Pudding King is defeated and lies slumped behind his throne. Princess Ebonmire, the black pudding, is no more. The location or identity of Prince Livid, however, remains unknown.
If there is a silver lining to the unfortunate incident with Sekkar and the fireball, it is that the last explosion partially destroyed the moldy throne as well as a squat, woody mushroom that served as a footstool. The damage from the flames reveals a hidden compartment in the fungal footstool which contains 55 gp, 30 ep, a green potion in a gourd, two spell scrolls written on sheets of dried trillimac, and a somewhat large, varnished eye.
The group are still catching their collective breath when the ghost of Burrow Warden Jadger comes floating through the wall of the cavern, followed by three galeb duhr who come rolling in from the tunnels behind. Ah, so the gambit worked! he says in his spectral but still somewhat authoritive gnomish voice. Just moments ago the ooze legions suddenly broke, losing their unified will and acting much more randomly. I won't say they were fleeing as such, but they just appeared... confused, I guess. A good half of them kept trying to advance, but without any structure to their attack they were easily dispatched. The rest scattered in all directions, and the defenders are all busy now chasing them down as best they can. I dare say many will escape into cracks and clefts, but the threat is certainly neutralised. Come, let's check in with the Diggermattocks...
With that the three galeb duhr escort the group back to the main hall where the big spherical House Center is. Senni Diggermattock oversees various groups: healers tending to wounded gnomes, workers sweeping up the remains of broken elementals, and soldiers collecting expended ammunition. Dorbo seems to be coordinating the efforts of the remaining forces to root out any remaining oozes, but he turns from this task to greet the group as they arrive.
Excellent work, friends of Bligdenstone. Without your help we would have lost many, many more of our people today. As it is I think we may have only suffered the loss of about one-tenth of our total forces, and a good fraction of those being the elementals. We are forever in your debt, for this and all you've done for us. Not only have you eliminated the worst of our troubles, but you've gained us new allies and stronger defenses than we've ever had. If you'll be so kind as to endure our hospitality for one more rest, I'll see to it that an escort is prepared for your journey to Mantol-Derith as soon as you arise. A CHEER FOR THE OVERWORLDERS!
And with that, the assembled multitude raise their arms and shout a loud HURRAH! that echoes back and forth off the walls.
Would anyone like to do anything before taking a long rest?

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
Kirin - Level 15 High Elf Wizard (Evocation) - Zorg's Lost Souls - Overchannel Steel Wind Strike for the Win against Demogorgon Silas - Level 11 Human Cleric (War Domain) - Tomb of Annihilation Done
Out of all the "treasure" the pudding King kept, Sekkar approved only of scrolls or, to be precise, the material that was used for them - trillimac was a major ingredient of a good half of the Underdark dishes. The glossy eye looked either too mundane (the gnome was obviously crazy and could keep any kind of toy as a treasure) or too magical (he did keep it hidden) to be interesting. And finally the potion -whatever it was - surely spoiled the perfectly fine gourd. Well, money can be useful too.
Complete liberation of the city allowed to hope that grand quest for searching a guyed is over as well and Sekkar did not mind to spend one more night in this place resting. No longer, though - he did not forget about the drow on the group's collective tail.
Pax stood, towering over the small gnomish folk...shadows swirling around her and felt...conflicted. She was proud, certainly, of helping defeat these strange underworld creatures. Here she felt she not only represented her family name, but also all overworlders, and she believed she'd done well. But...a small part of her still glanced around at all these creatures scampering about deep in the earth and felt them beneath her. She could hear her father's voice in her head, "What good is accomplishing small deeds for small people." The context had been different, but....nonetheless the thought straggled through her mind...sticking uncomfortably and making her feel somewhat ashamed. Ug, was she becoming her mother? Locked in her room and agonizing over imaginary demons. Looking for a distraction she grabbed the scrolls, gourd, and eye, and muttered, "I'll figure out what these things do..."
She was quick to wander back into the city and find a quiet place to quiet her mind, letting everything go, except for the shadowy magic that filled her finger tips and seeped into the items, questing for their purpose. (Identify as ritual).
When she was done she informed the group of the results, passing them over to Kaylyn to decide how they should be divided...though if the scrolls held a particularly useful spell, she might decide to ask to keep it, and be able to record it into her book.
Otherwise she went for a walk. Heading into the gnomish town, she decided the more distraction she could find, the better, and decided to 'beg' for supplies. She looked for gnomes who previously had been selling the special inks and supplies needed to copy spells and inquired into their health.....though felt particularly deceitful when doing so, before, still feeling dirty, asked if they could spare her any of the supplies she needed. As she stared down at the gnome, a sick feeling in her, she suddenly wondered what she was doing. "Nevermind good ma'am. I am pleased you are well, I need nothing, best of health to you and your family." Taking her leave abruptly she returned to the caves where they rested and began to peel her armor off. Looking dark, confused, and angry at herself, Pax focused on each plate of armor, pulling out her meagre supply of oil and her dirty rags, she began cleaning each one, making sure no splatters of ooze remained to damage the metal. Once it was all oiled and cleaned and packed next to her bag, she undid her pony tail and put a hand through her straggly orange hair, glancing at her dirty hands....and laid back on her matt, closing her eyes to get some sleep.
After the battle, Rhayna goes to where the injured are being taken, and tries to help however she can. While helping the wounded, she notices Pax wandering around town. She leaves her duties for a moment, and goes to see her friend. She hears Pax finish speaking with the gnome, and abruptly head to a cave. Rhayna finds that a little odd, even for Pax. She finds Pax cleaning her armor with the oil. She retrieves the bottle of oil that she has in her rucksack. “Here.” She gives it to Pax. “It does more good if you have it.” There is an awkward moment of silence, for she is very self conscious that she’s not great at helping people not medically. “Humm... Is everything ok Pax?”

Kaylyn used her ability to Detect Magic prior to Pax identifying the items to determine which may possibly be magical to help Pax know which ones to focus her energy on. After receiving the items back she will study them to determine who may benefit most from them.
When getting the items from Pax
"I have had this scroll for some time now. You may be able to put it to better use than I have. It holds a spell of enchantment that allows you to charm a foe to attack others. Please take it, perhaps you can scribe it in your book."
After aiding any gnomes that may need it she spends the evening exploring the town and conversing with as many of the inhabitants that she can. She seeks to learn the history of the city and the area.
Kaylyn's magic detects that the potion is indeed magical (it appears to be equivalent to a potion of healing), and that the eye is also some kind of magical item. Pax spends time identifying them and learns that the potion is in fact only disguised as a healing potion but is in fact poisonous. The eye however is from a nothic, and has been varnished to preserve it and then enchanted as a single-use magic item. It functions as a crystal ball of true seeing but only contains enough magic to be used once.
Kaylyn finds the gnomes relatively talkative, but finds they care little about histories and legacies, and thus much of the ruined city’s past is lost to time, but gleans the following:
For centuries, Blingdenstone remained hidden and isolated from the rest of the Underdark, thanks to a combination of misdirection and magic. It wasn’t until they provided shelter to a drow exile named Drizzt Do’Urden that the deep gnomes began to take a more active interest in the world outside their caverns. Perceiving the threat the drow represented to all the peoples of the Underdark, the deep gnomes abandoned their isolation when they came to the defense of the dwarves of Mithral Hall, defeating an invading drow force from Menzoberranzan.
This alliance, however, would spell Blingdenstone’s doom. The vengeful drow bided their time, rebuilt their forces, and sent their armies out to strike back hard against the svirfneblin, returning in great force to lay siege to Blingdenstone. The deep gnomes were no match for the drow army. Thousands of svirfneblin were slaughtered, and those survivors who didn’t escape to Mithral Hall or the surface world were dragged back in chains to Menzoberranzan as slaves.
Within the past decade or so, the deep gnomes have returned to reclaim, resettle, and rebuild their city. Most are focused on re-establishing the mines and quarries, and housing new arrivals. The Stoneheart Enclave spend much of their energy raising earth elementals for defenders and laborers. A few members of the Stoneheart Enclave also seem preoccupied with locating something they call Entemoch's Boon, although it seems none have much idea what it actually is, and most dismiss it as mere legend or have simply been too preoccupied with the reclaiming and rebuilding of Blingdenstone to search for it.
Just reading back through the module, I realised I missed an important bit which is probably of interest to Pax, and that I shall now include here. I'll just copy it directly as written:
When Princess Ebonmire dies, the black pudding disgorges a pair of spellbooks with covers made from troglodyte hide and pages made from trillimac fungus. The covers and pages are coated with a magical varnish that renders them immune to acid damage, protecting them from the pudding’s digestive juices. The varnish also protects against water damage. A svirfneblin archmage named Lesla Carrowil authored both spellbooks.
The first spellbook, titled Underland Magick, contains the following spells:
1st level: alarm, color spray, comprehend languages, find familiar, grease, identify, jump, Tasha’s hideous laughter, unseen servant 2nd level: alter self, blur, crown of madness, gust of wind, invisibility, knock, magic weapon, phantasmal force, spider climb 3rd level: blink, dispel magic, gaseous form, major image, protection from energy, slow, tongues, water breathing 4th level: blight, fabricate, fire shield, hallucinatory terrain, locate creature, phantasmal killer, polymorph, stoneskin
The second spellbook, titled Magick from Beyond the Mirror, contains the following spells:
5th level: Bigby’s hand, cloudkill, hold monster, legend lore, passwall, Rary’s telepathic bond, telekinesis, wall of stone 6th level: chain lightning, disintegrate, Drawmij’s instant summons, eyebite, flesh to stone, Otto’s irresistible dance, true seeing 7th level: forcecage, mirage arcane, Mordenkainen’s magnificent mansion, prismatic spray, reverse gravity, teleport 8th level: antimagic field, feeblemind, incendiary cloud, maze, power word stun, telepathy
Despite Pax's reluctance to ask for supplies, one of the Stoneheart Enclave mages has obviously recognised Pax's arcane interests, and as gratitude for her aid has offered to provide any supplies she may require for her studies.

Kirin - Level 15 High Elf Wizard (Evocation) - Zorg's Lost Souls- Overchannel Steel Wind Strike for the Win against DemogorgonSilas - Level 11 Human Cleric (War Domain) - Tomb of AnnihilationDoneOut of all the "treasure" the pudding King kept, Sekkar approved only of scrolls or, to be precise, the material that was used for them - trillimac was a major ingredient of a good half of the Underdark dishes.

"Science is organized knowledge. Wisdom is organized life."
Kaylyn gives her the spell scroll Crown of Madness.
1st level: alarm, color spray, comprehend languages, find familiar, grease, identify, jump, Tasha’s hideous laughter, unseen servant
2nd level: alter self, blur, crown of madness, gust of wind, invisibility, knock, magic weapon, phantasmal force, spider climb
3rd level: blink, dispel magic, gaseous form, major image, protection from energy, slow, tongues, water breathing
4th level: blight, fabricate, fire shield, hallucinatory terrain, locate creature, phantasmal killer, polymorph, stoneskin
The second spellbook, titled Magick from Beyond the Mirror, contains the following spells:
5th level: Bigby’s hand, cloudkill, hold monster, legend lore, passwall, Rary’s telepathic bond, telekinesis, wall of stone
6th level: chain lightning, disintegrate, Drawmij’s instant summons, eyebite, flesh to stone, Otto’s irresistible dance, true seeing
7th level: forcecage, mirage arcane, Mordenkainen’s magnificent mansion, prismatic spray, reverse gravity, teleport
8th level: antimagic field, feeblemind, incendiary cloud, maze, power word stun, telepathy
Despite Pax's reluctance to ask for supplies, one of the Stoneheart Enclave mages has obviously recognised Pax's arcane interests, and as gratitude for her aid has offered to provide any supplies she may require for her studies.
