Kirin can't be sure, but he thinks the black bands surrounding the box might be made of a rare alloy known as Infernium, that can only be smelted in the Nine Hells. Kirin's Knock spell causes one of the two black bands to snap open, and it takes a second casting of the spell to release the second band. Curious as to what manner of treasure would require such secrecy and protection, he opens the box and sees what appears to be two fist-sized white furry spider eggs. No sooner does Kirin view the contents than he feels a sensation of dread in the pit of his stomach. An exclamation of alarm is heard from someone outside the shrine room (it sounds like Jimjar) and the webs that surround the outpost begin shuddering with movement. The sound of clicking mandibles is heard as every spider in the cavern leaves their recently-acquired prey and begins to converge on the shrine room...
Vizeran looks more annoyed than afraid, and simply says: Time to leave. Glancing about to make sure he doesn't forget any of these pitiful worthless souls, he casts a spell and vanishes, along with Jimjar, Sarith, Shuushar, Derendil and Eldeth.
Confident that there is nothing further to be gained by remaining here, Kaylyn likewise scans for her companions (including Rhayna's friend Stool) and activates her helm. The drow outpost swirls and vanishes....
...as the multi-factor merchant outpost of Mantol-Derith swirls and materialises around everyone. The group is near the duergar enclave, a dozen feet from the central rift and with one of the two spanning bridges just nearby. There is a commotion just across the rift in the main Zhentarim market area as svirfneblin, drow, duergar and humans gather agitatedly around the strange mixed group that arrived moments before. There is no small degree of shouting, and the gist seems to be about whether this group is allowed to be here (in the largely secret outpost), whether they represent some new trading faction, whether they should be tossed into the Darklake, whether they have actually broken any of the standing rules or not, and so on. The excitement is such that no-one seems to have observed Kaylyn's party arrive.
Besides Vizeran and the escaped slaves, a few vaguely familiar faces can be seen among the crowd - mostly gnomes or elves or dwarves that were amongst the groups encountered before (in the future). Zilchyn the scarred drow sits calmly under the giant mushroom as before (or as expected to be in the future). Kinyel, the drow that was (or will be) influenced by the demon gem is among the excited crowd. A human female with bright red hair in a green cloak is among the Zhentarim, and certainly wasn't here before (in the future). Peebles the gnome eye-stalk surgeon is nowhere to be seen, nor is Yantha the gnome mage gem specialist. None of the enclave leaders are seen in the crowd.

Pax pulls out her rod, ready to assist Sekkar, the potential treasure within the box turning out to be an evil nightmare. But before the deed can be done the world flips and suddenly they’re in the Mantol-Derith. She raises her hands in frustration and turns away with a huff. After a few frustrated steps she turns back to the group. “That is unfortunate.” She sighs, “That could be the reasons the demon ended up going there. To get those eggs.” She glances over at the other group that is yet to see them, then looking a bit weary strolls casually over to Zilchyn. When she nears him she nods casually, “Hey there. They'll probably just modify their memories and send them on their way. Then looking up again he adds: Say, you have the look of a mage... you wouldn't happen to have any snake's tongue on you? She looks herself up and down, clanking on her armor, and then pulls her helm off, letting her stringy hair tumble out and down her face. She “pshhs” it aside with a well aimed exhale. “I look like a mage? Well spotted I suppose. I’d worked so hard to make myself look like not a mage. She then looks around as if she doesn;t really know who is there and settling her gaze on Kinyel calls to him. "Good to see you again Kinyel. Are you well? I see my companions have arrived. Sekkar, preoccupied with eggs destruction, was a bit slower to react to the change of scenery. (No, the drow spellbook was taken from a mage that was helping Ilvara search for the escaped slaves. He wasn't at the outpost to begin with. But yes, there is the spellbook from the magic tower, and also a rudimentary spellbook from Droki in the Whorlstone Tunnels, I believe.)
Zilchyn's eyes widen as Pax offers an entire spellbook for no reason at all. A most generous offer! The drow accepts the book from Pax's hands. I recently mislaid my own spellbook, and have taken to scribing a new one. But this... this will save me many days of labour. Again, I thank you. And with that Zilchyn moves in and attempts to hug Pax, whispering softly: I am called Zilchyn K'leptin.
Pax:
(9)
While attempting to hug Pax, the drow also makes an attempt to steal one of Pax's Tentacle Rods. But Pax notices it...
The awkward moment passes and Zilchyn again takes his seat and asks: So you're not a trader then? Have you come with that other group? And he points over to where...
Kaylyn is speaking to Kinyel (who is a female by the way... the one the gargoyle fell in love with) who looks extremely surprised and taken aback by the greeting. In an obvious attempt to disperse the crowd and diffuse the source of her discomfort, Kinyel says: Of course, of course. Your contingent can use the grove over there (pointing to where Pax is speaking to Zilchyn). Come this way. And with that, Kinyel ushers the newcomers toward the drow enclave, which seems for the moment to satisfy the gnome/duergar/Zhentarim traders.
As they depart, Kinyel approaches Kaylyn and whispers harshly: Are you mad? Why would you blow my cover? Did Druu’giir send you? Or Vandree? Then she looks over and sees four more female drow emerging from the warehouse area, one of whom is Sirak, the drow chief negotiator. Wait! hisses Kinyel. You must do as I say. The two drow and their quaggoth slave will be allowed to stay here, but you must promise Sirak that the gnome, the kuo-toa and the dwarf will depart after resting.
Sekkar looks around but sees no sign of Peebles, the svirfneblin that works for the Eyemonger. He also sees no sign of Krimgol Muzgardt, the duergar who first brought the gem to Mantol-Derith.
Pax shoves Zilchyn away roughly when he gets 'handsy' with her 'rod'. "Hey, that's no way to treat a future friend who just gave you a gift. You didn't try to pick my pocket in the future when we met. Jerk." She softens the tough words with a grin, then takes a seat with a metallic clunk. "Seriously though, try to steal from me again and that face is going to get even uglier." She smiles sweetly. "No, not traders. Yeah, we're with Vizeran. For now." She thumbs in the direction of the group moving their way. "We have to stop a horde of demon lords from taking over the underdark." She shrugs casually, "It's a pretty big deal." Suddenly, remembering something, she opens her eyes wide and looks around, "Oh my gosh, where are the Zhents....they have the most amazing food." Remember Zilchyn she looks back, "Look, I don't super trust you, but we did get along pretty well in the future, so, I'd be willing to give it a go. We're going to need help getting into Mezo-er-ban-a-baan? At some point. We've got someone to help us, but.....another pair of hands, helping to save the world from demon lords....could be helpful. Think about it. And....it's that way to the Zhents right? Oh drat, everyone is coming this way. The food may have to wait. Talk to you later Zilchyn, be good."
She gets up and walks up to the rest of the group as they approach Sirak.
Rhayna follows Kaylyn and Kinyel. She tries to determine if the female drow is already being influenced by the gem.
