"Can try to chew through it... If I get there." The fastest way surely would be a few careful cuts of Dawnbringer. Alas, not the most inconspicuous. And Sekkar did not have a knife but did trust his perfect teeth.

Pax puts her hands out to her side in a flabbergasted expression, "We don't have a single knife among us?"  To Sekkar she shrugs, "Well, if we need to hurry it up, i'll make you fly so you cna use Dawnbringer, but lemme try this first."  She pulls out a crossbow bolt and thumbs the edge to check for sharpness, then shrugs and flies back to the egg.  She looks at the webs that string off in different directions.  "As soon as I start cutting, everything around here is goin to come running...or slither, or crawling.  Just....be ready."  

She begins chopping through the web with the crossbow bolt. 

Momentarily letting go of his staff with one hand, Kirin pulls out his dagger and toss it to someone around him, keeping his eyes on the surrounds. 

Despite several of the group taking additional defensive measures, all seem rather unperturbed by the wispy voice. Pax makes slow progress with the crossbow bolt until Kirin, who appears to be suspended in mid-air himself, hands his knife off to Pax.

With the original warning largely ignored, the voice returns again, still soft as cotton but this time with a sense of heightened urgency:

“Fools! Flee now! This is your final warning!”

There doesn't seem to be a specific source of the voice, but as it returns, Kaylyn looks around once more, scanning with her latent magical sight. Her eye catches movement in the tunnel to the west. There is a figure there casting illusion magic. It is a simple cantrip, but the eerie disembodied caution that results is effective enough.

Pax glances around at the voice, but....she's got a job to do, best do it fast. With Kirin's knife now in hand, she begins cutting as quickly as she can.

"In the tunnel to the west!" Kaylyn calls to the others.  "Under an illusion it seems." 

"I'm afraid we can't do that.  We'll only be a moment and we will only take two of the eggs.  We wish to kill nothing but collect what we need to set the underdark back right again. Demons infect the underdark and we must stop it.  Perhaps you don't understand this, but you must at least know why we do what we do." She answers the voice. "Now we do not take threats lightly and are capable foes.  Let us be and we will allow you to live.  Attack us at your own peril"

She speaks slowly trying to draw the conversation out, stalling.  She also tries to see if she can see through the illusion.

Sekkar, using his relative invisibility, began to carefully move in the pointed tunnel. For now - just to look.

With Kaylyn's words, the figure steps out of the darkness and approaches the group rapidly, gesturing for Kaylyn to lower her voice. It is a female drow in mage's garb, and a relatively young one. Sekkar remains unseen and raises his weapon to the ready in response, but the drow is unarmed, and walks past him without any sign of threat as she hisses at Kaylyn in as loud a whisper as she dares: Be silent, elf! Your wish will mean nothing if you do not bridle your tongue! It is clear to Kaylyn now that the figure itself was not an illusion, only the sound of the voice in the cave. The drow approaches a little closer so as to be heard with a minimum of volume, but keeps a cautious distance. You are like a thunderous pack of duergar! Do you know nothing of harvesting worm eggs? As if to reinforce this new warning, a low rumble is felt in the ground which reverberates through the cave, but passes after a few seconds. The drow continues to talk in a hushed whisper. She seems curious of the group, and also as though she hasn't spoken to anyone in some time and is grateful to see a face - even that of a surface half-elf. My mother leads the Dark Hunters, you know. They are the most successful egg-collectors in Menzoberranzan. She taught me all about it. Up this close Kaylyn can see that the young drow is exceptionally thin and rather weak-looking, and most likely hasn't eaten in days.

Pax: Make a Sleight of Hand check. DC 10 to avoid damaging an egg in the haste of cutting. DC 15 to reduce the required time by one minute. DC 20 to reduce by two minutes. If your roll is less than 10, then you hit the egg with the knife. To determine if it gets damaged, make an attack roll (with a STR basis, so attack modifier of +6) against AC 20.

Pax isn't the most graceful individual, but she seems to be making good time slicing the egg free while the group chats with the drow.

Kaylyn lowers her voice.  It seemed prudent at the least and this drow was not what she was expecting, but there was wisdom to her words.  But they needed the eggs, so they would harvest them either way, and if this drow was willing to help they could use her knowledge to their advantage.

She then whispers to her "Then help us, because we are taking eggs either way.  And besides that you look like you haven't eaten in days.  Are you lost down here?  We have food to spare and water if you would like it, but we are in a hurry.  We did not mean to be so loud, I hope the noise we have made has not attracted any of the purple worms, but knowing our luck we have."

Rhayna pays attention to the young Drow mage, checking to see if she is, by any chance, affected by any sort of madness, or she is just another Drow.

Sekkar laughed silently at the boasting drow calling them "loud" yet missing the lizardman in the shadows. He did not revel in that feeling of superiority for long (as pleasant as it was, arrogance is a death sentence in the tunnels). That female drow did look weak and hungry, but it was a drow nevertheless. Sekkar was ready and waiting - another familiar face in Menzoberranzan (how did they allow to talk themself into that mad visit there?!) could be useful. Kaylyn might convince this drow to help. Or at least not interfere.

Pax makes good use of the dagger and with her deft handiwork, she makes progress with the egg extraction.

Rhayna has enough personal experience with madness to see that this drow isn't mad. But she and Kaylyn can see that she is clearly stressed: probably a combination of solitude in a dangerous place, hunger, and trying to maintain an affectation of superiority among a group of obviously powerful surfacer-dwellers. Kaylyn's offer of food is enough to break the young drow's facade, and she nods eagerly. I'm not lost, she says through a mouthful of the offered food. I came here alone when the rest of the Dark Hunters were... when a purple worm attacked and... when my mother...

The young drow looks about to break down with emotion, but at the last moment steels herself and returns to an attitude of stoic haughtiness. Anyway, those eggs are quite heavy. That one up there doing the cutting needs to make preparations to support it once it comes loose. Even the fomorians that care for these nurseries often carry around... The drow stops talking suddenly and listens. The snoring! It has stopped!

The drow spins around and looks to the tunnel in the south. Sure enough, a hulking figure looms in the darkness, glaring stupidly at the group. As its head slowly rotates and spies Pax floating up near the garland of eggs, it opens its mouth and bellows: Argh! Egg thiefs! It then shouts a long and rather high-pitched shout, and the resin strands in the chamber behind it begin to reverberate, creating a loud humming the echoes throughout the surrounding caverns. The ground rumbles louder as the giant begins a swaggering lope toward the nearest person...

On Rhayna’s turn. “Psss!! Everyone quiet. I will try to calm that fellow down.” She will cast Calm Emotions on the Fomorian when in range (60ft.) (CHA save DC 18)

The fomorian suddenly stops short, stares blankly at Pax with its jaw hanging open, and then turns to face the southern tunnel as if to leave. However the humming noise coming from the resin strands in the southern chamber continues, and the rumbling being felt through the floor increases. A rushing noise is heard from the north, which builds rapidly, turning into the loud flapping of hundreds of wings, until a great swarm of bats flies right into the central egg chamber, completes a clockwise lap of the cave, then fly out the eastern tunnel. The bats fly over most heads, but Pax and Kirin are more elevated and are caught in the swarm...

Kirin and Pax: Please make a DC 10 DEX save to avoid taking 7 bludgeoning damage.

A worm approaches! How long until it appears is not clear, but it seems there is at least a few rounds worth of time to prepare. Anyone can use an action to make a DC 15 Survival check to determine how long until the worm appears. Rhayna's spell will last one minute (10 rounds). Pax has been working on the egg for two minutes, and has about two minutes more to go.

Kirin, could you please state where the Wall of Force platform is?
