Captain Blackhand: Sensing the Paladin's suspicious gaze, the Pirate laughs and says, "Now, now, Sir Reginald! I may be a scurvy-ridden old cuss, but I always be straight with me crew! Ain't no one better than meself to 'ave with ye on such a mission! We will, o' course, be takin' the ship fer ourselfs as payment. I'll try to convince any survivin' crew to spill their guts and work the lines fer us. We could track down these slavers and do a 'hole lotta good. What do ye say?"

Elias standing in the back listening finally says: "I care not about what happens to the ship. If Cap can gain ownership of it I do believe it could help us as it seems we have members of our group with the experience to run it. But do we have a plan to board it? Can we convince them to throw down a ladder? Or do you think they come to shore for the goods and then return to the ship? We do have access to their armor and cloths for a disguise."
"Sounds like a reasonable plan to me," admits Reg, "but there is no way anyone is going to mistake me for a smuggler," he adds, indicating his shining plate armor and posture reflecting years of service in the watch. Speaking to the *pirate* in their party (reformed, I hope), he says warily, "I'll hide where you think best, then come out and try to cut off their escape on your signal. I'm trusting you on this one--don't make me regret it."
"Do you think we can go ahead and deal with the proceeds from last night's events, though? It might help us provision ourselves properly for tonight's smuggler trap," asks Reg.
Fireborn says "The stolen goods will need to be returned, but the items you found on the smugglers are fair game for your group. I also agree that these stolen goods can be used as a trap for the bandits on the ship."
Captain Blackhand: Smiling broadly, Beric spits into his palm before offer it to Fireborn, saying, "We 'ave an accord! These smugglers ain't got a chance! And we'll, 'o course, be returnin' any stolen goods we discover."
Turning to leave, he asks, "Captain Fireborn, might'n you put in a good word wit' the local Smith fer us? We 'ave some work fer him. Now let us be off, me mateys! We've loot to sell and rum to drink!" With that, the newly reformed ex-pirate saunters off toward the markets, feeling good about earning an honest wage for a change.
Fireborn hesitantly takes Beric’s hand and then wipes his now spit soaked hand on his cloak as this is the closest piece of cloth he can find. He replies “Thank you and yes, we can let a smith know to assist you.”
Asking around, you easily find the directions to the Temple of Procan and find a few citizens inside taking a moment of private worship. Once they break away, you see they were speaking to the priest of the temple, Wellgar Brinehanded, an older human who is missing a leg much like Fireborn, and walks on a wooden peg.

Reginald of Neverwinter:
"Greetings, you must be Priest Brinehanded. I am Reginald, and we are relatively new to town. I hear you are the person to come to when one needs magical items identified. Can you help us?" he asks.

Brinehanded walks over to the group as the other worshipers exit the temple. He has a stoic look on his face as he begins to address Reginald, but his look changes as he sees both Beric and Keric. He loses the air of properness he displayed to the previous group and says "Men of the sea, aye? I know the look in those eyes anywhere! Come, come! Sit down for a while, honor an old sailor with a tale of the sea. I haven't been on the water since I lost my damn leg, but still want to hear about it" He knocks on his fake leg as he says this.
Elias also knows when to back off. He will go sit by Reg and chit chat. With a whisper and a grin says: "And people say Elf's are strange. We have nothing on a group of sailors."
”Eh, as long as they get us a good price on identifying the magic items and don’t tip our hand for tonight, they can tell all the stories they want,” says Reg.

The group listens as he regales tales of his time as a whaler “there we was, storm raging fierce, real pisser that night was. We felt something in the nets and i jumped down with my spear to land the killing blow and quickly found out it wasn’t a whale, it was a damned shark! Bastard bit me leg clean off. Lucky we had a cleric on board who healed me quick or i’d been a goner.”
Keric sits down and pulls out the waterskin that hangs from his hip, takes a drink, and makes a face and he swallows the harsh liquid inside.
"Of the sea, aye. I was a navigator on many ships out of Waterdeep. One job I took was on a whaling ship headed north. We had hired a Northman, big and burly as the mountains he hailed from, to help us in case we ran into any of his kin, " Keric leans in, and with a wink, adds, " and run in we did."
"On the return trip we were beset upon by long boats in the night, filled with axe swinging, fur clad howlers from the northern shores. Our own barbarian friend, his name Joryn if memory serves, treated with them and, may the ***** queen strike me down if I'm telling tales, bartered our passage with a wrestling match!"
Keric rocks back in the chair and lets loose a hearty laugh. "I watched on as these two brutes grappled each other by firelight, knowing full well that I'd be dead as the whales in thehold if our man lost. I tell you now, I've never cheered so hard for another as I did that night."
Brienhanded lets out a hearty laugh a Keric's tale. "Staking your life on a wrestling match! That's a new one on me! Tell you what, I normally charge 20 gold per item, but will give you a deal. How many items you lookin to have identified?"
Brinehanded looks at the pipe and scale mail that you placed down and says “aye, fine booty if I say so me self.” He scratches his graying beard and says “how you boys feel about a little bartering? I have a calling that i can use some help if you agree. The sea god has given me the vision of where some old shipwrecks are around the coast and the sailors who went down are still there. If you want to help recover there remains, i will identify these items for free and either give you credit toward other spell services or pay for your work.”
