Captain Blackhand: Casually perusing the variety of wares in the market, the seasoned Pirate carefully selects everything they'll need to successfully board the smuggling vessel. Being his personable self, Beric shares a laugh with the shopkeepers before asking about any jobs, work, quests, missions, bounties, evil wizards, cats in trees, etc. in the area.

Finally, he'll seek out a Tanner to measure him for some sleek, form fitting seaman's armor to wear underneath his tattered vest and sea-stained navy blue officer's jacket.

An older gentleman says “what kinda work are ye looking fer? They always need hands down at the dock to unload ships, probably find work as a ship crew if ye can handle that.”
Keric takes a few minutes after discussing with the group to put on his new armor. "By the salty depths, she fits me like a glove." He says, clearly pleased with the piece. It consists of supple leather and finely worked steel scales that have a blue-green sheen when the light catches it. The scales are etched with swirling patterns that look like wind swept waves on the open the sea.
Captain Blackhand: Moving to a table in the corner, Beric takes a long swig of rum before huddling in close, saying quietly, "So, me plan be simple 'nough. When they signal, ye all be ready in the cave, disguised as smugglers. I'll return their signal and then run down to meet ye b'fore they can row out. It'll be dark so they shouldn't notice us until it's too late."
Taking another drink, he continues, "We jump 'em, take their britches, and ye disguise yerselfs again. Me and Keric will swim out and disable the vessel whilst ye take yer time loadin' the cargo and rowin' out to meet 'em. Again, it'll be dark and they won't be riskin' no light, so they won't notice ye. If they do catch on, Keric and I will dis'tract 'em whilst ye use these 'ere grapplin' hooks to board the ship instead."
Captain Blackhand: Ordering a meal and another bottle of rum, Beric sits back down and says, "Let's play it by ear, eh? We'll camp out at the ol' haunted house every night 'til them smugglers show up. Durin' the day we find work or drink!"

Growing restless at the apparent inaction of the group, Reg joins Beric for lunch and says, "Let me take a look at the locations of the shipwrecks on the map. If we can make it to one and back by tonight that would be a better use of our time than sitting around here in the tavern all day."

Captain Blackhand: Sensing the Paladin's unease, Beric takes one last long swig of rum before rising to his feet. He says, "Aye! A bit of treasure huntin' might be jus' the thing to pass the time! Let's see 'ere..."
Studying the Almanac they'd found and the locations of the shipwrecks, Beric attempts to choose the one that would be easiest to get to and explore.
Okay so you have a map that shows where some of the shipwrecks are. The closest one is just off shore. Do you want to get any information from Brinehanded or charter a boat to take you there?
Reg will leave the decisions about how to get to the shipwreck to the more nautically skilled, but he will be nervous in deep water while wearing his plate armor...
Captain Blackhand: Deciding it best to bring his new gear along in case it is needed, Beric quickly returns to his room before rejoining the others. He says gingerly, "Let us be off then, mateys! There be treasure to find!" The Captain wanders out the door in no particular direction.

If you wish to head down to the docks and look for a ship to take you to the first wreck, Beric can use his pirate background to obtain passage on a small sailing ship that is currently docked in Saltmash awaiting a shipment to come into town from Neverwinter. After discussing with the captain, he is aware of Brinehanded and is willing to take you out to the closest shipwreck, which is just off shore south of the Saltmarsh port for 10gp if your group is willing to crew his ship during the journey. His crew is currently on shore leave and this saves having to pay them as well.

OoC - I am not sure, it's less AC than my chain mail, though having a swimming armor would fit nicely with a cleric of unberlee...sure!
Elias would have liked to went with Cap to see if he could also have found a set of studded leather. How much would it have cost? 35gp?
When back at the tavern he will ask: "Well, what is the plan for getting aboard the ship?"
