Making your way north going out the back foot of the house. You begin try and navigate through the maze of streets. It all looks so much different than when it did before. You never know when turning down a road, if it’s going to be cut off or worse have Kolyyt’s soldiers looking or waiting. The distant battle has died down, it’s much more quiet now, now that the smoke has blocked out the sun. The Smokey twilight is good for keeping out of sight. Solomon continues to lead the group around a corner to a side street. It’s about 20 feet wide and it’s difficult to maneuver over all the chunks of debris and timber from the nearby buildings.
Reginald says “I think the best advice dealing with anyone these days, just be honest.”
Right as the group turns the corner, Fouder and Others catch out of the corner of their eye that a group of soldiers are jogging their way, looks like you’ve been spotted. Alerting the others you begin to go faster. You hit a wall of crumbled building and make a left, only to find another caves in building blocking your continued path. You’ve seemed to run into a dead end. Knowing the soldiers are not far behind Elyse stands tall and says “Get ready!”
You’re standing in the street that’s still 20 feet wide. There is rock, plaster, wooden logs scattered amongst other items that were once cast aside during someone’s attempt to rummage through. Things like buckets, rope, 2 x 4’s, scrap metal, and other various things. The wall behind you is about 20 feet tall above the pile of rubble your standing on. The debris feels like loose shale under your feet, making it difficult to maneuver. Reginald is struggling to keep his balance being off weight carrying the egg. (You have about 2 rounds to prepare as the group of soldiers arrive - roll your initiative and whatever you plan to do to prepare)
Fouder scans the area. "I propose we move forward," he says. "Counter-intuitive, I know, but we can conceal the egg in aFog Cloud. Reginald too, if he does not wish to leave it. We too can hide within the cloud, which will give them a disadvantage against being able to target us. We will be able to move in and out of it to strike."

PHB pg 243, Fog Cloud: You create a 20-foot-radius sphere of fog centered on a point within range. The sphere spreads around corners, and its area is heavily obscured. It lasts for the duration or until a wind of moderate or greater speed (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses it.
PHB pg 183, Vision and Light: A heavily obscured area - such as darkness, opaque fog, or dense foliage - blocks vision entirely. A creature in a heavily obscured area effectively suffers from the blinded condition (see appendix A). [The range is 20ft so most of us will be able to go in and out of the cloud on a turn]
PHB pg 290, Blinded: A blinded creature can't see and automatically fails any ability check that requires sight. Attack rolls against the creature have advantage, and the creature's attack rolls have disadvantage.

Fingolin tries to find a spot that gives him a better footing, then he plays a few notes on the lute, saying in a singing voice: "Calad gaur an hen rhugarol".Minor Illusion
A replica of the dragon egg appears in the rubble to the side of the group, as if poorly hidden. Fingolin points to it: "That's an illusion to distract them."
Tennezaz curses and readies his crossbow before deciding to hold that in one hand while drawing his rapier in the other. "Aim to kill?" He asks as he looks forward.
Arell moves to stand next to Tennezaz, drawing his axe nervously. "I doubt they will hold back, so yes."
He takes a glance at the wall now at his back, noting it's height. "That's too high to climb in a hurry, we'd be easy to pick off. I think we have to do this the hard way." Having said that, he quickly starts looking for a place to hide to at least have some semblance of a surprise for the soldiers heading in their direction. Once in position, he lays down the axe within easy grasp, then draws his crossbow, loads it, and trains it in the direction of the soldiers.

Solomon draws his sword and hefts his shield in the direction of the soldiers. “Animals always fight harder when they’re cornered, I suggest we do the same.”
Everyone begins to scatter and take their places in the alley while Elyse begins to command orders the Chryl and Lektyr. “Start blasting a hole in that wall, we have to get out of here. Reginald, you better not lose that egg!.” She holds her wand at the ready and stands near Fingolin in the center of the Alley.
Arell and Tennanaz move to the right side of the alley, hugging the wall while Fouder and Solomon find themselves on the right side. Both the elves get two rounds of fire bolt onto the wall as brick and plaster begin chipping off, but it’s going to take some time to make a hole big enough for Reginald or at least the egg. The fog rolls in as you begin to hear the footsteps of the guards marching around the corner. The mist hangs thick in the air obscuring all vision. The marching stops and silence falls.
A voice shouts out from behind the fog. “Surrender now, there is no where to go. Hand over the egg and you shall keep your lives”

You stand in the fog, knowing just feet away from the soldiers even though you can not see them. The ones armed with melee are positioned about 5 feet away from the end of fog wall. The others 10-15 feet back.
Fouder lurches out of the fog and, using both hands to grip it, slams his battleaxe into the nearest soldier at melee range, before retreating back into the fog.

Arell copies Fouder's actions, darting into the fog only to emerge just out the edge on the other side. With a nimble sidestep he does his best to avoid any attacks headed his way, and quick as a cat, lashes out with his handaxe before tumbling backwards into the safety of the clouds.

Solomon lets the others test the soldiers with some initial attacks, while he positions himself between Fingolin and Fouder and takes up a defensive stance, waiting for a body to materialise through the fog.

(Those holding their attacks in the fog, will be at disadvantage. You are blinded and have to wait for them to bump into you except for Fingolin with prestidigitation going.)
Fouder, Ten, and Arell burst out to to find two lines of soldiers. Four infantry men lined up first with swords with three men behind them filling the gaps with spears pointing at the ready. One Soldier stands off to the side with a silver brooch on his vest. Probably the leader, the one giving orders and yelling.
The formidable sight is enough to let Tennanaz hesitate as his rapier is deflected off the shield. Arell uses that opening and lodges his axe into the infantryman in front of him. They quickly retreat before the soldiers can react. Fouder swings his axe as he comes out of the fog, but find himself slightly askew to where he thought the soldiers were and misses as he tries to side step and adjust. As he returns the soldier and spearman take an attack of opportunity: vs AC 18
Soldier vs Fouder - Attack: 6 Damage: 5
Spearman vs Fouder - Attack: 11 Damage: 6
Both Soldiers strike true as the blades gash deeply into Fouders flank and back. Reforming the line in the fog, Tennanaz and Arell can’t see Fouder, they can hear the wheeze and wince next to them.
You hear the order from the captain. “Forward, March!”
as the formation of soldiers trudge onwards. Unbeknownst to them prior to walking into the alley the slippery loose gravel slide under their feet. Dex save 12 or fall prone.
The Infantryman on the left flank recovers himself as do the spearmen in the back as they had more time to react. The other three infantrymen *and one spearman however, go ass over tea kettle immediately fall prone. They use the rest of their turn getting back into formation. The last infantryman continues to move forward in the chaos and bumps into
