The vrock takes almost no notice, glancing at the bolt now sticking out of its side. It screeches again, and takes a step towards the remaining group. Its claws slash out at Shuushar: Attack: 12 Damage: 14

The kuo-toa is hit squarely, and the claws open up his side and blood flows freely. Shuushar is still alive, but not doing very well. In a flash, the vrock's head lashes out at Eldeth: Attack: 21 Damage: 8

Eldeth sidesteps the beak just in time. The vrock screeches in anger. Sarith flees towards the exit, not even looking back.

Manju, then Derendil, then Don.

Manju - Launching towards the beast he will try to deliver a high spinning kick to the beast before landing on his feet and firing in an elbow.

Attack: 15 Damage: 7 Kick
Attack: 15 Damage: 6 Elbow

Regardless if he finds purchase he will take off with the group dropping to all fours and using his Feline Agility

The blows land, but the vrock looks at Manju like a fly had landed on it. With everyone starting to draw closer to the exit, Derendil roars at the vrock, and takes off towards the exit.

Don, then Eldeth.

"Get the hells out of here, to the passage, double time!" Don will run to the west passage, using his action to dash if needed to get there.

The vrock at this point takes notice that most of its prey is heading to the west, and looks up, getting ready to follow. Eldeth steps up in front of it, looking at the exit, at the rest of the party, then at the vrock. She seems to make a decision. Looking at Gadvelt, she unslings her shield, then tosses it with a clang at his feet. Go! I'll hold it off! She shouts. If I don't...take my shield. Escape this wretched place, and take it back to Gauntlgrym for me. Tell them...tell them I stood firm. She turns away, and you catch a glisten of tears in her eyes in the fading light. She yells a battle cry and charges the vrock.

The vrock turns its attention toward the small dwarf now hammering away with a short sword.

Turvy scampers off after Topsy, and Shuushar, bleeding profusely, limps away as well.

Jimjar, then Ront, then back to Egret and Gadvelt.

Jimjar scampers toward the west entrance, he turns and fires his hand crossbow at the vrock Attack: 8 Damage: 14 (Sneak attack damage, if hits, because Eldeth is nearby) then uses his bonus action to dash toward the west exit.

The bolt slams into the vrocks outstretched arm, but it takes no notice.

Stool is making for the exit as fast as it can, but its unable to move very fast.

Ront never got close to the combat, so was probably closer to the west passage, and moves into it then turns in a defensive stance several feet in.

Gadvelt picks up Eldeth's shield as he passes, saying in dwarvish I'll meet you in your clanhall or Moradin's, Cousin! and thinking I'll not dishonor your sacrifice by denying it, but I don't like it. Follow if you can next chance!

Gadvelt needs two turns of movement to reach the passage even dashing, so he'll disengage and move that way, planning to dash next turn

If possible, Egret will try and help Stool hurry to the west exit using his action to dash, and he does so, he'll call upon Gond to heal Shuushar.

Healing Word: 8

Stool is incredibly light, so you're able to grab him up with no penalty to your speed. Shuushar's wounds start to close, and he gives you a grateful look as you hurry towards the exit.

Along the way, you're able to just make out at the edge of your light the broken bodies of a drow and a bugbear. They missed the webs and the pool completely. Topsy speeds on, and hits the entrance to the tunnel and turns back, looking for Turvy.

Tempest, then Buppido.

Tempest dashes to the western tunnel, then turns back to make sure others are making it.

Buppito Moves into the tunnel, and then a bit further down, waiting as the others collect inside the tunnel.

The vrock snaps and claws at Eldeth, who seems to still be doing a fair job of holding her own. But then, the body of the other vrock lands with an earth shaking thump between you and her, and you can no longer see her. 2 of the chasmes swoop down and land, and all you can hear is the thrumming of their wings and the otherwordly demonic shrieks.

The demons are paying you no attention now...you can exit initiative.

"Come on all of ye..."  Buppito calls from a bit ahead.  "Let's put some distance between us and those fiends..."  He will start leading the way Westward, towards Darklake.

Gadvelt was also between most of you and Eldeth fighting the vrock. He dashed to reach the tunnel and avoid the falling demon, running in with tears in his eyes. He looks over Eldeth's shield, and offers his own to anyone who can use it. He thinks at Tempest

 He grits his teeth and marches at or near the front

"I wouldn't have put money on her being the first to fall." Jimjar says somberly, "Brave and strong she was, even if she wouldn't ever make a bet."

Tempest, looking a bit confused as she is hit by multiple mental questions at the same time, staggers a bit as she puts her hand to her head.  Then she heads onward, following after Buppito for now.

"Not even the stories my first mate told of the Underdark were as grim as those flying fiends." Don says with a grimace. "I hope not to see them again." Don shakes his head, as if trying to clear the image from it. "Lets get moving, far enough away that those things won't come after. Can someone tell me about this Darklake we're headed to? How long will the journey take and what can we expect to find there?"

Shuushar looks around and zeroes in on Egret, but thinks to everyone Thank you for healing me. This passage will lead us to the Darklake. We can head around to Sloobludop...it is rather close and there are many boats available to get us across to Neverlight. Depending on how fast we travel, it will take around 8 days to get there.
