Tempest will get up and prepare. She will move to a spot where she is not out in front of anyone and has some cover, maybe even just behind another person.
Buppito will move to the side, having his crossbow ready.
Don gathers his weapons and slips off to the side, blending in with the shadows as best he can. Circling back along the wall of the cavern toward the entrance the voices are coming from, Don lies in wait.
Stealth, 21
(please let me know if that description doesn't make sense)
Egret will wake, quickly utilizing Blessing of the Forge on his shield, and simultaneously casting light on the emblem on the front of the shield and... (if the cavern is large enough) stand about 30 feet from the passage entrance, make himself a visible target and hopefully leave the edges of the cavern near the entrance in dim light. (if the cavern is not large enough) stand to provide cover for Torrent, Stool and (if possible) Shuushar. He will also hold Toll the Dead for a visible enemy.
Two deep gnomes leading a giant lizard laden with supplies appears out of the tunnel. They freeze when they see Egret, and a look of fear is etched on their faces.

"You have nothing to fear if you intend no harm to us." Tempest says as she pushes off from the wall she was standing near. "We will only harm those who mean us ill..."
Tempest steps towards the center of the room, ready to blast if things go bad.
Seeing Tempest move forward speaking to them, Egret will dismiss his held spell, but still hold his spear at the ready and try not to do anything to provoke anything until someone translates.
"They are traders." Tempest tells the others mentally.
To the gnomes in under common...
"You should know that drow are probably coming up fast behind us." Tempest informs the gnomes. "We escaped from them two days past and they will be hunting us."
Deciding the threat is past, tempest then moves back towards her bedroll, hoping to get a few more hours of sleep before they need to get moving again. She will let the others take over any talk with the gnomes.
Jimjar steps from the shadows and greets the fellow gnomes.
In gnomish:
Hello, friends. Sorry for the fright. We were all prisoners of the drow a couple days back in an outpost they called Velkynvelve. We escaped when demons attacked their outpost, but we fear the drow will be following us, if they were able to deal with the fiends menacing them.
Ten gold says they aren't expecting to be ambushed! They may be in force though, so don't get yourselves hurt. Say, do you have any food you could sell us? We've been going full speed two days now and are nearly out of rations. I wager we have maybe another day of travel before we'll be gathering mushrooms while the drow keep running.
Ront's grunt holds a lot of dismissiveness, as he thinks Huh, they sell us out for pocket change - or whatever, forced to tell, not their fault, how would we know - goblins say "trader and traitor alike for a reason". Can you magic up some insurance, god-boy or spell-girl?

"No I cannot." Tempest will think back as she lays down in her bed. "Now stop thinking at me, I am going to sleep... If you think I am grumpy normally, wait till I am kept awake half the night..."
I bet we have a few things we might be able to interest you in. Some of these surface dwellers have their full packs from up top, I'd wager they have some coin. We also raided an armory on our way out. There are some spare shortswords, shackles, a spot of drow poison, who knows what else. How much food can you spare? I'll check with the topsiders and see what they might part with to keep eating.
To the group, in common,
"These fine gnomes are traders by trade and happen to be carrying a bit of food that could help us keep up the pace for a bit. If anyone has any coin or supplies, spare swords, drow poison, or anything else of value that we won't need for our immediate survival I bet it could buy us some time before we have to forage for food ourselves."
Answering Jimjar, Gadvelt thinks (and sparing those that need to sleep because they have a watch later or already) The Drow didn't rifle my pack, I got 15 gold if that'll help - not much else to spend it on

Mentally to the group...
"I am trying to see if they mean us harm or not..." Tempest explains her speaking to the gnomes.
One of the gnomes replies:
"We's just traders...we was just travelin' 'round. Don't be meanin' no harm ta nobody."

At the mention of the drow, the distaste is clear on their face. To Jimjar, they say:
"If we see them, we'll see if we can hold them up a little for you. Good luck traveling with the surface folk"
