Though his first strike was less than graceful, Rigel's follow-up was executed with near flawlessness - however, the hobgoblin simply got his shield up to intercept the ranger's blow at just the right time.
The brute then executed his own follow-up, bringing his longsword up from below in a sweeping, inverted chop: Attack (Longsword): 6 vs. AC 13 (Rigel); dealing 9 slashing damage on a hit.
Ronk sighs and unceremoniously drops Gundren's body. "Can we just LEAVE?!" He storms over to the bugbear Rigel just attacked, thrusts at the creature's gut with his spear, throws a punch at his fave, then a bugbear foot to his knee.

Vanzaren stands back, not really sure what to do at first. He eventually manages to bring himself back to the present and draws his scimitar. He slips behind his bugbear friend and takes a swing at the hobgoblin.

The wizard's blade plunges deep into the hobgoblin's gut and blood begins to pour forth from his mouth with each of his ragged breaths.
HOBGOBLIN 4 runs to the door on the west side of the room and opens it exposing a dark chamber on its other side. "Targor! Targor! They're here!" he yells into the darkness before drawing a longbow, knocking and arrow and taking aim at Rigel:
Attack (Longbow): 17 vs. AC 13 (Rigel); dealing 9 piercing damage on a hit.

At the sound of shouting an already defeated Marcon had not the will to even sigh. Yet, knowing better to wait again for the inevitable, he strode up to the doorway, broke out his handaxe and flung it right for the hobgoblin entangled with the others. His only warning is an almost belated "One Side, Ronk" before the axe is sent flying past the hobgling.
If he should with the axe buried in its skull, then would he gingerly make his way into the combat area and as close to the archer as possible. In goblin he says plainly, "Look... Either you and yours step aside, or we cut ever last one of you down like we did your boss. Or don't. Honestly, I... couldn't care less."
The farmboy's hand axe flies past Ronk head, leaving a wisp of bugbear ear hair drifting untethered in the breezy throughway. The axe lands dead-center of the swordsman's forehead, buried all the way to the shaft and the hobgoblin goes down in a heap at Ronk's feet.

Rigel doesn't even see the hobgoblin body hit the ground. As soon as the Marcon's axe strikes home the ranger is moving on the bow wielding threat. A few fleet footsteps is all it takes to cross the hall and strike back at the one who struck him.
Ronk runs at the remaining hobgoblin and gets within arm's reach - for long bugbear arms at least, not so much for a hobgoblin - so this time he leaves a little room in case more axes come flying past his head. He once again goes for the Spear-then-punch combo
Spear attack: 18; Damage on hit 4 piercing
Bonus Unarmed Strike: 20; damage on hit 6 bludgeoning.
Ronk takes advantage of the window of opportunity to strike at the hobgoblin while his attention is focused on Rigel. Once again, his blows hit center mass and the brute hollers in pain as the tip of the spear impales his body.
The magical dart bounces harmlessly off the wall as the enemy steps aside (5 ft to the south) and launches another strike at Rigel, this time with both hands clasped around the hilt of his longsword for added momentum:
Attack (Longsword): 12 vs. AC 14 (Rigel); dealing 7 slashing damage on a hit.
The wounded ranger is able to avoid the attack, but as the blade cuts through the air only inches from his head, three goblins come pouring through the doorway on the east side of the room! One is missing an ear, another is horribly scarred across his face and the third is wearing colored robes.
As more foes rush into view it hardly seems to altar Marcon's demeanor. He just sighs, stepped calmly into range the closest goblin, and without any of the previous sense of some shred of hesitation or holding back, swung his fist with as much as possible at the goblin's head; breaking something permanently if it proved to be as flimsy as they appeared. But if the blow is survived, again came the hand during the moment of disorientation to grab them the neck.
In success, he had add sounding weary, "Leave this one to me."
Bonus Action(If hit): Tavern Brawler(Grapple) Attempt on Grickbait - Athletics: 19 vs target's Strength(Athletics) or Dexterity(Acrobatics).

Marcon's punch drops the goblin where it stands. The human had to position himself to the south of the creature in order to get within striking distance, and in so doing he found himself standing in the middle of another large curtain - this one leading south out of the room. As the curtain was pushed aside, Marcon could see a hallway leading south, and sunlight showing through a cracked door at the end of the hall.
Rigel ducks just under the two handed strike from the hobgoblin. Seeing an opening the ranger brings both axes, one from each side, sweeping across the front if his body.

Attack: 14 Damage: 3
