Ronk's spear impales the hobgoblin's eye socket, followed up by the bugbear's fierce punch, not to the foe himself, but rather to the end of the spear's shaft driving the tip of the weapon clean through the brute's cranium and out the back side, lodging firmly in a crumbling masonry seam joining two large granite blocks of the aging castle's interior walls.
The scarfaced goblin recoils in horror as he watched the grisly scene unfold just a few feet directly overhead. The impish minion drops his rusty scimitar and darted through the heavy curtained portal on the north side of the room out of sight of the party.
(OOC: The goblin will take disengage as a bonus action before fleeing.)
No sooner than the goblin retreated through the curtained portal, two vicious wolves leap into the room from the darkened chamber to the east! Marcon recognizes the beasts as the same ones he encountered outside the castle just a little while earlier.
ROLLING INITIATIVE: 22 - WOLF 1 10 - WOLF 2 18 - UNSEEN ENEMY
Watching the goblins flee upon hearing Garet's stern warning was a relief, however that relief quickly turned into more concern for his injured allies as the wolves leapt into the room. Injured himself, and wanting to bring the combat to a quick and decisive end, the wizard pointed his sword at the wolves and uttered an incantation under his breath while tracing a sigil in the air with the tip of his blade:
Casting (magic missile; 2nd level): Vanzaren creates four glowing darts of magical force, directing 2 at each wolf. WOLF 1 takes 7 force damage WOLF 2 takes 8 force damage
The motes of force blast WOLF 2 against the stone wall and the beast falls to the ground, motionless. WOLF 1 absorbs the magical darts and is critically injured, but still alive.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Marcon steps up not only to kick the remaining wolf, but also keep stomping on it once its down to make sure it stayed down without mercy. "Followed the wrong master, pooch."He mutter after the job's done, and then look to the others with flat expression. "There's a door to the south past the curtain. Likely a way out. Someone get... get Gundren."He said solemnly, before then marching as far south and past the curtain as possible.
Movement: Into Melee with remaining Wolf.
Action: Stomp the Yard on the Wolf. (Lethal)Unarmed Fighting - Attack: 7 Damage: 4 bludgeoning damage.
Movement(remaining): As far south as possible, past the curtain (and if possible, opening the door to immediate south).

Marcon makes quick work of the remaining wolf before moving south down the corridor and thrusting open the door, bathing the dark hallway in sunlight. He notices another door leading east just a few feet ahead of the castle exit.
The party hurries towards the southern exit of the castle, and manage to get everyone outside. The southern face of the crumbling structure is set with arrow slits. To the south of the party, the gloom of the Neverwinter Wood seems to invite them in...
"To the trees! Without the wolves we should be able to lose the rest of them there. Or at the very least, it should be harder on them to fight outside their home turf."Marcon suggests. And if his word is to be accepted, he had been prepared to take up rear guard in the retreat to the trees, shieldless of hand, but more than willing to put life and body on the line to ensure the others reached said cover. Though even as the others might pause to at least consider their choices, he promptly turned about to close the door, and even hold it shut until everyone else at least had a ten to fifteen foot headstart.

Rigel is the last to exit the door. "Yes, go! GO!" he exclaims in response to Marcons suggestion. He pulls at Marcon as he passes, "You too! Come on! You're in no shape to stay alone. Hopefully they'll be too busy trying to figure out who the new leader is give pursuit." Rigel makes the run for the woods with the rest.
If Rigel's goal is to move Marcon even in the slightest, the ex-farmhand resists and tries to shake him off. "I'm figuring as much, 'nd I ain't planin' to stay behind. Just go. I'll be right behind ya. Just hold'n it fer a sec." He said, and hopefully after convincing or forcing Rigel's hand, turns on the door to try and wedge his last handaxe inbetween the henge side jamb to at least make it harder to open it properly, let alone fully in theory.
Regardless of whether he gets it in place well or not, he races after the others, still aiming to be at the back of the bus to avoid anyone lagging behind being juicer targets than himself before they reach the trees.
The group makes it to the edge of the forest roughly 100 feet away from the southern exit of Cragmaw Castle. Pausing briefly to look back, they see no goblins, hobgoblins, bugbears or wolves giving chase.
"Probably.. Don't know much about druidic magics, but I wager he can do somethin' of the like. Though, likely at the trade of dealing with that dragon sooner than later." Marcon mentions, breathing lightly despite the near death experience, injuries, and hundred foot run. He also never took his eyes off the castle as they spoke, still yet leery of pursuers at any moment. "... good a way as any."He mutters under breath.
