Rigel responds to Garet's question with, "You might be on to something there. Hopefully wr can convince or at least trick her into moving on. Hopefully these items might help do the trick." He picks up the long sword drawing Hew as well. He tests the balance between the two weapons. Finding the sword satifactory he places it back on the table. "I'll give this a try. Would help if you could tell us at least a little about each one. Perhaps we might make wiser choices."
Ronk picks up the rod and looks it over. cautiously extends a finger and sets it on one of the buttons, but then stops himself and sets it back down. "How do we decide who uses what? And HOW to use them?"
Vanzaren looks at Marcon. "Or..." he say innocently. "I take the sword and we talk about how I escaped in the first place. And maybe we find the missing boy and lovely acolyte."
"How can we trust you Harlan?" Says very slowly Garet to not stutter Maaybe you aare part of this P.phandalin judgement? How do we know these items are not cursed or at least just another t..trick t..to bring D..doom to us?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I believe him. Regardless if he's a part of this or not we're here now and I doubt anything we've done will be judged as righteous. It will be fine Garet. We've been offered these gifts and we shouldn't turn away from them. I don't believe they're cursed. Even if they are, we may very well need them to get free. So the question is, do we chance a curse and gain an advantage, or do we turn away and be cursed to remain here? I choose advantage. Now who wants what? Of course Van you should take the sword. I feel you'll put it to the best use. I already have an enchanted weapon so I'll go last. Garet, you should take the mace since that is more to your way of combat than a pick. I vote the pick goes to Marcon but I'll leave that choice between Ronk and Marcon. But I vote that Marcon should take it since you my furry friend are better with your fists. That leaves the ring and the broach for myself and whoever is left and for that I suggest a coin toss." Rigel pulls out a coin, "Heads I take the ring," and gives it a flip.

"Looks like the broach it is." He says and scoops up the pin and affixes it to his cloak.
Turning to Van he says, "That would be great, because I want you too know that regardless of why you ended up you have proven yourself unworthy of a fate like this. So I care not for why you were here only how you left. Even then really only if it was by magical or practical means because surely Isolde has closed that exit since."
While still waiting for answers, hearing Garet's concern has Marcon looking even more hesitant to touch any of the items. For even despite lingering trust issues with the others, which recent events with Van's connections having helped little in that department, the ex-farmhand still had enough of a 'want' to trust in some to eventually withdraw his hand altogether from the table.
He then sighs, and while rubbing the back of his neck says, "I've already.... I get where Rigel's coming from 'n all... I do, but.... ehh... I still got that Unicorn's blessing going for me as-is anyhow. Something I... still kinda regret accept'n as is, but too late now." Marcon said, ending the last note with a shrug, then regarding the others. "Not sure how long it'll last, mind'ja. But, so long as its there-..." He holds up a tattoo covered arm. "Should be more than enough. Shoot. Since this was like... I guess from a servant of a goddess, I guess, it might even pack a bit more kick than most of those things on the table anyhow. But, that's just me. Ya'll do what'cha want."

Ronk picks up the pick, hefting it. "I'm not really sure how to use this though... And it's pretty heavy..." He sets the weapon down and picks up the ring, and shrugs as he examines it. "I guess I can use this. I can still punch wearing it, right?"
Harlan looks at Garet with a finger held up, signaling to wait a minute. He then fishes around in a satchel at his waist, and eventually produces perhaps the tiniest flute anyone had even seen. He brings the instrument to his lips and begins tooting out a soothing melody, light but slow, enchanting but not ominous. As his magic takes root, those inside the tent can see the Weave begin to shift around them as his song plays.
The tune is very short, maybe six seconds long in total. He brings the flute down from his lips and says "There now, that should do it. My old circus routine," he says beaming. "Go ahead...one of you try to speak a lie. I'll bet you a Waterdavian gold dragoon can't do it!"
(OOC: The mystical charm bestowed on Marcon by Mielikki, god of nature dissipated 9 hours after it was applied.)
EDIT: The mystical charm has duration of 9 days, not 9 hours, so Marcon is still benefitting from the effects of Mielikki's blessing.
" My name is Gre,...Rigel. He's right!" Exclaims Rigel, "I can feel it. I tried to say my name was Greg but it made me change if to Rigel. Interesting!"

(@FC: Not sure if that's a retcon, or misread then on my part, as I could've sworn it was 9 days not hours, and its only been the 4th or 5th day at this point. But in any case, I'll assume its one or the other, and stop tracking. It can also be assumed delrium is kicking Marcon's butt to the point that he thinks he still sees the markings.)
"First off, ain't yer friend, if that's what yer implying. Second off, I'unno enuff 'bout magic ta really trust all 'n all is on the up 'n up with whatever ya just did." Marcon replied plainly. "But as far as I'm concerned, so long as a genuine effort to make sure the folk of phandalin at least get out of this nonsense safe and intact, I'm willing to listen and help in plans that support that effort." With that, Marcon crosses his arms, still refusing to take from the table anything.
Because Harlen was yet avoiding answering his earlier question, or genuinely didn't know the answer. In either event, while not the most insightful of people, especially on as bad a day as now, his trust could only be stretched so far. And besides that, so long as the others took something, what did it truly matter if he did not? If nothing else, he had his... own idea of how he might help, and trusted that enough.
Marcon's lips part, only to close without a word as the young man instead simply shook his head to the sides. As exasperated as he was with Rigel continually stepping in and speaking on his behalf, so too was he too exhausted to nitpick further, least he feed the very thing that pushed him into the current state...

"Marcon," Van says, picking up the sword and looking between the two. "I understand that this all sounds kind of crazy. But we're stuck here right now, and we need all the allies that we can get in the moment. I trust Harlen. And if anyone in this tent deserves to be trapped here it's me."
Marcon sighs and shakes his head softly. "That's cool 'n all.... well, not that last part, but... I'm not gonna get into that one. My -point- though is this.... I ain't say'n I ain't willing to work with him. Just stated my priorities. One of which being not to mess with those items." He said plainly. "Not to rain on anyone's parade, but they ain't exactly do their original owners much good anyhow, consider'n it wound up here." He said plainly. "But, if ya'll wanna take'm and wield'em, then that's... fine. I'm not gonna stop ya'll. But as Harlen here mentioned, we'll need to trick her, not fight her anyhow." He reminds, folding his arms a little more tightly across the chest. "So... there. Ain't no need to sweat me on this. Not without hear'n what the rest of the plan s'pose to be anyhow."

Rigel puts down the pick and picks up the mace testing the balance with Hew. "This one has a better feel if I'm being honest. Think I'll go with it instead. Those buttons make me think it might be more versatile anyway." Then an idea strikes him. "Marcon would you rather have Hew? I've seen your skill with an axe. It would be a good fit and we know it's safe." He holds out the axe offering it to the Barbarian.
