Reaction: Attack Of Opportunit(AoO) vs Wolf - Attack: 7 Damage: 4 of non-magical bludgeoning and fire.
Even Marcon, tough and half-blinded by rage as he was, cried out in pain from the blade biting deep into a thigh. Though unable to react to the goblin's retreat moreso from pain than anything else, the wolf would not be so fortune. A both wild and instinctive swing is made at the beast in passing prior to the blood-soaked human fully solidifying his footing.

In the moment that it takes Rigel to withdraw the hand axe, he surveys the room and the options before him. Just at the edge of his vision he thinks he sees Marcon stumble, but between him and his possibly fallen comrade lies a couple obstacles. A hiding half-blind goblin, who's obviously off his nut, and one BIG gnarly looking wolf. Who, it seems, is about to eat poor Ronk.
Realizing what he has to do but regretting having to make the chioce, Rigel breaks from his original notion of rushing to Marcon in favor of heading off the wolf aimed at Ronk.
"Ronk! Grab Garret, he can't see! " Rigel shouts!
Scrambling past a stalagmite and over the rock walls of the dam Rigel ends his charge just as the wolf arrives face to face with Ronk.
Rigel snaps off an upward dagger slash followed by a downward chop with the hand axe
Klarg cracks a wicked smile as he sees Marcon wince with pain. Certain his vicious pet can fend for himself, he tightens his grip on his morning star and moves forward to finish off the meddlesome human that has dared to enter his domain. “Night, night...,” he says as he swings a powerful uppercut at Marcon:
Ronk’s first strike sends the animal airborne, the second smashing it into the ground. The wolf’s head hung at an awkward angle, and it did not move with the exception of some errant twitching of the limbs as the last of the neurons fired before going completely dark...
Hearing the exchange between Klarg and Marcon, Hiccup steps out from his hiding place ready to declare victory in the goblinoids’ favor. Looking through the portal, he’s sees several more interlopers and starts to panic a little. He hastily lets and arrow fly in Rigel’s direction before making a break for the western side of the room:
(Attack: 11 vs. AC 13, dealing 8 piercing damage on a hit.

(OOC: THE PARTY IS UNABLE TO SEE WHAT TICKLE IS DOING ON HIS TURN.)
Tickle attempts to climb down the fissure: Strength (Athletics) check 14 vs. DC 10, taking 8 bludgeoning damage on a failed attempt.
A character attempting to ascend or descend the chimney shaft must make a DC 10 Strength (Athletics) check. If the check succeeds, the character moves at half speed up or down the shaft, as desired. On a check result of 6–9, the character neither gains nor loses ground; on a result of 5 or less, the character falls and takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage per 10 feet fallen, landing prone at the base of the shaft.
Stopit peaks over the top of the crates and spots Rigel standing on the other side of the entrance. Seeing that Marcon is now lying face down, he manages to work up the nerve to knock an arrow which he releases in Rigel’s direction:
Attack: 19 vs. AC 13, dealing 8 piercing damage on a hit.
Not sure whether his arrow found its target or not, he quickly ducks back down hoping no one saw him. (He takes hide as a bonus action - 13)
Just as Rigel starts to turn towards the opening where Marcon lays, a crude goblin arrow flits past his face and over his left shoulder. Wide eyed at the near miss, he snaps his head to the left, instinctively following the arrow's flight. The head turn is just in time to spot the goblin archer leave it's spot with a weapon drawn. The goblin comes in swinging wildly, giggling with insanity. Rigel turns the momentum generated from the head snap into a full left spin. The twirl not only allows Rigel to avoid the undisciplined attack but also sets himself up for a dagger cross slash counter. The hand axe sweeping in close behind.
Dagger Attack: 23 Damage: 6
Axe Attack: 14 Damage: 2
Unfortunately the maneuver exposes Rigel's back to the stairwell. He curses through clenched teeth and a gasp of pain "Awe!.. MOTHER Fff.." He bites off the rest of the last word as the deep sting of the arrow finding purchase in his right shoulder fully registers.
Vanzaren nods as Ripper falls over dead, ducking around it and kneeling down next to Marcon. Using what knowledge he's learned from injuries in the circus he tries to keep Marcon from going the way of a trapeze artist who missed.
Klarg rounds the corner to find the very same bunch of adventurers he had sicked his pack of wolves on earlier now at the entrance to his “throne” room. Seeing his prized wolf, Ripper laying dead at his feet, he quickly surmised that his other wolves were likely dead as well. Realizing he had horribly misjudged the skill and ability of this group, he roars with anger:
”Aaaah!! What you do?! You kill my puppies! My goblins! What Klarg do to you?! You pay for this one day puny squishies!!” With that, he snaps a javelin off his back and heaves it with all his might at Ronk, who he assumes is at the center of this plot to overthrow him.
Attack: 17 vs. AC 15, dealing 7 piercing damage on a hit.
The bugbear then turns and retreats back into the southern chamber, screaming unintelligibly to himself in goblish.
Vanzaren hears some rustling among the crates as the goblin tries to avoid notice, but realizes his luck has run out. A worn out short bow and bent scimitar are tossed out from Stopit’s hiding place, landing near the fire pit. Standing up slowly, the goblin reveals himself, hands in the air, trembling with fright. “Stopit! I Stopit! Youse stop-it! No hurts me!”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Stopit is too scared to believe the party means him no harm, and Vanzaren’s clipped speech does not do much to convince him otherwise.
UNDISCLOSED ROLL:
Charisma (Deception) check: 19 vs. DC 10 (Vanzaren’s passive insight)
The goblin prattles off some information in a mixture of goblish and common. Vanzaren hears the dwarf’s name mentioned several times, but can never quite pick up on what the goblin is saying (or meaning to say.)
