"I guess you're thinking about a few things. Understandable... Here, pass me the map. Here is where I found those foul people gathering, if you seek it to be a destination. I'd recommend getting help. I will focus my eyes around, if I spot any more foul goings on, clues or sightings; I'll keep you updated. If anyone else has been kept in the loop, like Sylde, don't hesitate to ask for help..." Prini talks over the map that is spread over a tree stump.
((The red cross is where Prinhi saw the group of shadowy figures, The purple circle is where you are, The blue circle is the estimated area where you were awoke))
Khazan points at the mountainous area south of Tildeholme
"Ah think its pretty safe tae assume we can search aroun' safely, their cover was blown an' the villagers know they were there. They can't operate in the are anymore, they'd need a big force, an army, tae do so an' I don't think they 'ave one. They woulnd't 'ave sneaked around otherwise. But we can't exclude there maybe a few "agents" lurkin' around tae keep an eye on things or tae retrive documents, or destroy 'em."
He then moves his finger to the area west of Pebrycyg
"On the other hand, we can assume there'll be at least one elite agent in the area an' Moradin knows how many hidin' in an' around Pebrycyg. If we want tae attack 'em there we need tae be fast, way faster than we actually can be. We need tae take 'em out and be outta there before any possible reinforcement can arrive an' we'll have no time tae search the area for clues on their leader."
Khazan traces an imaginary line from the position of their party to Tildeholme and then to Pebrycyg "Ah say we recruit folk we can trust tae help us scout the area aroun' the city or tae slow down any potential cultist while we deal with the masked bandit an' the others. It'll take time, but I think its the best we can do if we want tae take 'em out."
Prinhi wishes you all the best of luck and hands a ring to Khazan and allows the user to cast an animal communicator to relay messages to keep her updated and she will do the same to you. As she guides you all back to the river and the edge of the forest, you see the roots, leafs and mud have formed a sturdy bridge for you all the cross safely.
The travel is as swift as the mules take you. Over a course of three days, you head back to Thildeholme, with only the nights getting colder and colder give you any trouble as the season sinks deeper towards winter...
You enter the gateway into the village mid-morning, with the mists from the night still lingering, but people getting on with their day all the same.
“Look at them all,” Daffafle whispers to her party. “Continuing on as if nothing is wrong in the world. I suppose we were like that before...” she paused, needing nothing more to say. “I suppose it’s time to wake people up.”
"Maybe a Guard or some official could be our person for that?" Wulcrath suggests, stretching out a bit as he sits up from his spot in the cart.
"We could split up for a bit, maybe ask a few different people? Get some different opinions from different people?"
Wulcrath shrugs, frowning a bit as he scans the streets around the group. "I could be overthinking this a bit though..." He mumbles, chuckling a little at himself as he stares into his lap. "One of us SHOULD probably park the cart anyway."
"Why don't ye take care of it, Wulcrath and meet me at the tavern when yer done? There bound tae be at least one bored or drunk guard in there."
Khazan jumpes off the cart and heads to the tavern he and the group slept in the last time they where in the city. On his way there, he keeps an eye out for the buzzcut brawler he fought before.
"Got it, shouldn't take too long." Wulcrath says vaulting into the drivers seat and taking the reigns.
"Anywhere you guys wanna check out? I can take you there before I park it if you'd like." Wulcrath says, turning to Bart and Daffafle. "Beats walking right?"
"Certainly true, Wulcrath," Daffafle turns towards Bart with a shrug. "I would suggest the mayor, certainly she'd know the surroundings fairly well, but she'll be none to happy to see me."
Khazanheads to the inn, The Happy Shrub. You see the familiar, rotund dark-haired, tanned-skinned human he wasn't too pleasant; this time is no different when a drink is ordered. But he gives you a drink ((4sp)) all the same.
The free time is very much enjoyed, until you hear a vaguely familiar call, "Oh! Now there's a fine dawi!"
You look to see the village's smith, Osor, approaching and drink in his own hand and fresh looking crumbs in his beard, "What brings ye back to wee Thildeholme?"
========
The rest of you make it to Straps and Boots, the general store where Daffaflebought the travelling clothes still protecting you well as the days slip further into winter. A older man, pale skin, brown hair and beard with glasses is looking over a ledger before greeting you with a smile, "Good day, good day. How can we help you today?"
“Hello, good day to you,” Bart says to the old man. “I believe I’ve had a bit of trouble, and I’m hopi g someone such as yourself may have noticed or heard something... any word of strangers outside of town here? Suspicious happenings? Weirdos?”
Upon seeing who's just stepped into his shop, after a few blinks of recognition, the shopkeeper livens up, "well, if it isn't the good folks that helped those who were kidnapped!"
He listens to Bart with stern brow, gently nodding, "Now, there was a small investigation. Some of the guard, even the brave that were kidnapped, returned to the place during the next few mornings to try find anything, but they saw... things taken, footprints and marks made people. Some guards kept watch for a night or two, but no one showed and any tracks made only went so far..."
The shopkeep shrugged after trailing off, "I'd rather have the people good and safe. I'm sure the mayor must've sent word to the city for more manpower to investigate... Unless that's you now!" He grins.
"Good tae see ya, Osor" greets Khazan as he takes a long sip from his drink
"Here tae call in a favor or two. Me group seems tae be short on manpower an' I thought I could ask here fer some help. The sneaky and brawly kinda help."

“Can’t say I know anything about that, but we’re here anyway. It sounds like we have a place to start.” Bart nods seriously to the shopkeeper.

Osor raises an eyebrow, but then turns to give a genuine think for a moment, "Uhh, we do have a guard station here. You can have an ask there, or ask the Mayor if you can borrow a one of the people that guard her land?"
He takes a swig of his drink.
==========
"That's a promising start." The shopkeeper goes to turn back to his ledger, but then starts, "unless you need anything I can supply to help with the investigation." His friendly grin turns a little cheeky.
"You may be right but... If we're going to continue pursuing this we may not have a choice."
“Daffafle, we’ve come a long way since then. Maybe now we’ve got the gumption to be able to take ‘em on.”

Arms crossed and foot tapping, Wulcrath quietly sighs as he thinks about their next move, giving the map a good look.
"Well... What should we do?" He says, looking to the others, a worried frown on his face.
“Perhaps we should go back to Sylde or Gar? Maybe they can help? But I thought that was how we got here to begin with.”

“What else could they do besides keep living?” Bart gestures are all of the people. “Time to see who knows the lay of the land.”
Bart is looking for a shop, some sort of general store.
