Virran moves in from the shadows as the creature stares at Naivara. He launches from behind, using the force of his size to catch the aberration unprepared. The first strike hits the hard scaly skin and sides harmless way. The creature, now aware, instinctively turns, leaving an opportunity for the dagger to catch a weak spot. The nothic takes 7 points of damage. As the rogue moves away toward the stone pillar, the creature's lone eye tracts his movements.
Sensing an opening, Stig pushes forward, unleashing a flash of light that streaks towards the creature. The nothic, a creature born of corrupt magic, shies back momentarily. The light is true on aim, but the creature takes the brunt of the spell without harm. (OOC: Close, but not quite enough to hit). While the creature blinks away the sudden bright light, the dwarf comes charging forward, shield and hammer ready to strike.
The creature's thoughts invade your mind for a moment, "Thez food comez esly. But notz needez. Fight notz needez... Eat yourz flesh if you willz itz."

Naivara ducks out from behind the rock, so she has the creature clearly in sight.
“By Aerdrie... Aim true...” Naivara whispers, as she finally gets to hold up her bow at the creature. She says a silent prayer that the Gods will finally have her back.
Attack: 22 Damage: 7
She then quickly moves across the bridge and ducks down. In doing so, she checks the bridge for weaknesses. Investigation check: 10. Perhaps it would work to leave the creature stranded on the other side of the cavern if the rest of the team could make it across?
OOC Edit: stuffed up combat dice roll. DM redid it for me.. wasn’t me!!!
still stuffed... didn’t add my +3 damage so damage should be +3
Night Hawke runs into the open and uses her fire spell to blind the creature.
Offering a prayer to the Circle of the Land to help her struck down this unnatural creature she uses Produce Flame and hurls it at the creature.
Attack: 20 Damage: 6
If successful and I am able to, I use my bonus action of opportunity attack while the thing is blinded/on fire and duck in to attack with my scimitar. If i'm not allowed to do that, I move out of the way and out of its gaze ready to help if anyone needs additional help/healing during the battle.
LSA moves the front of the tunnel, past Brandywise and Night Hawk. She lifts her bow, whispers the phrase to cast hunters mark: “I see you, I mark you, may my weapons find you”, knocks an arrow and fires:
Attack:15
Damage: 12
Hunter's mark additional damage (only if a hit is made and the Nothic is not immune to damage by piercing): 2
Asmodean, Rapier in hand and feeling confident in this melee steps forward ready for a decapitating swing, but before launching his swing he experiences a wave of déjà vu, and has a vision of wildly swinging his weapon, missing the creature and decapitating on of his companions instead.
Not wanting to end the life of his stoic crew given his incredible strength and timing with his rapier, Asmodean changes his swing with the goal of stabbing the creature instead. Maybe not the strike to be sung about, but the ballad he would compose about this endeavour could be embellished and who would know.
@ Naivara: You move so that the creature is in full sight and pull back firmly on the bow string. The space between the nothic and Stig is tight, but the gods hear your plea and your arrow strikes true. The arrow lodges into the softer flesh on the creature's left chest area. The nothic takes 8 points of damage.
Her attack successful, Naivara then runs towards the bridge. She casts her eyes intently at the bridge as she begins to cross and notices two things at the same time, one of them as result of her careful scrutiny: firstly, the bridge is made of wooden planks and no hand rails - it is also terribly constructed and faulty... to a fault. The second thing Naivara notes, much to her surprise, is the free fall she suddenly finds herself in as the bridge collapses under her weight and both she and the timber fall into the crevasse.
Naivara: Fall damage: 10 bludgeoning damage. Naivara lands prone in a jumble of rubble - this qualifies as difficult terrain.
The fall is approximately 20 feet. The steep-sided fissure is 5 feet wide from where you land. Its rough walls are easily climbed (one action) without an ability check.
The bottom of the crevasse feels unnaturally cold. A short distance from your landing, heaped among broken and well-gnawed bones, is a half-eaten body.
@ Night Hawke - You move the short distance (10 feet) until you can clearly see the creature, partially obscured by Stig. At the whispering of your pray, a flame appears above your hand. Stepping forward, you cast the fire light directly at the nothic. The flame hits the creature, causing 6 points of damage, before winkling out of existence once more.
(OOC - Opportunity Attack is a reaction as a creature moves away from you or past you. You cannot use this as a bonus action. The only bonus action you could have used is 'Healing Word'.
@Swift - You move past Brandywise and follow Night Hawke into the open, approximately 5 feet out into the cavern. Drawing back on your bow, you envision the Hunter's Mark on your prey and release. The arrow embeds itself a fraction of an inch from Naivara's own and sinks deeper into the nothic's flesh. The nothic takes another 14 points of damage.
@ Asmodean - The creature, now looking phased by the assault, staggers as a second arrow embeds in its chest. Moving as quickly, and as far, as he could, Asmodean slides past Stig to attack the creature's side. Asmodean notes the weak parts opened by the arrows, then thrusts his rapier in a stabbing motion toward the nothic's chest, this time on the right. The nothic takes another 8 points of damage. The creature growls deeply, its eye rolling towards you.

Slightly bemused at the blur of his Merry Band speeding past him and hammering poor Kitty Kat, but also proud of them finally getting into the thick of it, Bwrbywise finally ATTACKS.
Slinging his shield, he grabs his handaxe, and, moving steadily forward to give himself a clear shot between the stone pillar and The Mighty Stig, he hurls his handaxe from his non-dominant hand, aiming for the weak spot, where, already, two arrows niggle Kitty-K. Thrown Handaxe Attack: 6 Damage: 4 ...
... and without waiting to see the outcome, he moves swiftly behind the pillar murmuring "Here kitty, kitty, kitty" and emerges behind the poor creature. With his dominant hand, he thrusts his vicious rapier into Kitty-K's most vulnerable spot. Rapier Thrust Attack: 23 Damage: 7
[OOC: just did raw rolls - no side or behind adjusters - DM to change as required]
Eager to add to his splendid teeth collection Bwrbywise steps beyond Kitty-K (taking care to avoid The Chasm of Naivara) and readies to wield either his shield or his other handaxe as the emerging battle dictates.
Brandywise, after following the rabbit through the hole, manages to do his laces and toss his axe toward the creature. He pivots as the axe leaves his hand, bolting around the other side of the column and the nothic. His first attack glances off the aberration and sends the axe skidding across the ground further into the cavern. The fighter launches his second attack, landing a killing blow that causes the beast to fall to the ground, dead.
(OOC: While I would like to commend you on an amazing battle start... I feel it necessary to call you selfish bastards for not even giving me one turn. Let me ponder this, as I roll a d100 for wandering beasties...
Monster dead, Brandywise sets to harvesting some teeth (1 teeth salvaged). Smiling at each other in triumph, Naivara appears from the north, and offers Brandywise his fallen axe.

LSA is keen to investigate the tunnel off to the left on the nothics side of the cavern. It probably leads to another hidden entrance, but she wants to know more. She doesn’t want something unexpected coming at their backs while they explore the rooms Shawn drew for them. These rooms lie over the chasm passed the now-broken bridge.
With concern for what the tunnel might conceal in mind she heads to the tunnel's entrance to investigate. She hopes the others will take a while looking for possible artefacts left ny the nothic... apart from bones. Perhaps there will be some hint of why it was coerced into guarding this section of the underground manor. There was probably a purpose to it being here. Now it’s dead it’s too late to find out if it might have known and been prepared to share what it knew.
LSA feels that in retrospect she regrets the haste the party went in for the kill. While the creature was ugly and appeared fearsome, perhaps asmodean could have persuaded it to tell its story.
she puts these thought aside and focuses on what she can see inside the tunnels entrance, as she stands the opening. She looks for traps, artefacts and any other evidence that might hint on the use of the tunnel, both recent and over time.
Night Hawke takes stock of everyone and wanders past the entrance to the west, sniffing the air to see what she can deduce. Wandering further north she inspects the second bridge to see if it is as faulty as the one Naivara broke.

Virran first peers down into the chasm to see if naivara is alright. She seems to be poking around and so virran decides to leave her to her own devices.
Virran then heads over to LSA after lighting up a torch "This might help you a bit."
Once handing the torch to LSA he turns, runs and jumps the gap where the bridge was. Once landing on the other side he slinks up to the corner and carefully listens for any noise before peering around the corner into the hallway. He is trying to see if any of the redbrands had heard the commotion and came to check.
Brandy thanks Naivara for returning his weapon. (softly) "My lady. I hope it may serve us all better next time" He takes it as a sign that she is moving towards forgiveness for the "nudge" that set this off.
Secretly, he's pleased to have got a kill at last, after Vegan 1 was so rudely snatched from life before his eyes by someone else and he was forced to spare Shawn, bless the poor lad's pumpkin-stained socks. And secretly, he's miffed that rather than him rescuing Naivara from the bottomless pit, with his trusty rope, she has simply clambered out.
Others seem to be reconnoitering - so he will explore if there is anything of value on Kitty-Kat's Korpse - not expecting anything. And, in any event, explore whether one of Kitty's back-spikes might be usefully souveniered or, even better, weaponised. He is conscious of the possibility of surprise attack, but thinks it a low chance given the nasty habits Kitty-Kat appears to have indulged in.

Naivara walks to Brandywise, Asmodean and Stig, who are standing around after battle.
“I took a fall, no denying that... but I used the opportunity to do a solid investigation of the crevasse. I believe I found what remains of Thel and have stowed his Talisman to take back to Sildar or his loved ones. I found a substantial amount of coin, which I will add to the group’s collection, a couple of potions, but I am now back down to one after the damage I took.”
”I also found this sword...” She holds up the magical longsword. “It’s Talon, the magical sword of Sir Aldith Trensendar. I would like to continue to wield it for now, as I feel a connection to it. It is as though the heavens led me to it. Virran will let us know what the other side holds. Maybe we should leave him to his own devices for now and investigate a little with Swift. That’s the part Shawn didn’t know about, so that may well be where we find our foe. I don’t think he will be hanging around in the common section.”
She walks down to meet Swiftarrow. She tries her best to contribute to the investigation 20 and use her keen senses to perceive anything in the tunnel 17
@Swift - You note the natural cavern gives way to a man-made corridor, consistently 5 feet wide. About 10 feet into the corridor, a set of stairs (short and steep) leads downward. The light radiating from several sconces on the wall suggests this area is commonly used. Studying the ground, the stones along the wall are covered in layers of dirt, yet the middle of the corridor is well-trodden. Where the footprints meet the dust, you can see signs of boot prints and... some other prints. No full print is visible to tell more.
@Night Hawke - You wander over to the corridor leading west and take a sniff. Surprisingly, it smells of... Lady Swift Arrow who is standing there in front of you. While it is a sweet scent of lilac and heath, overall, she casts you an awkward glance as you stand there smelling her. Offering an equally awkward apology, you step to the side and take another great intake of breath - however, the cavern's stench of decay is too overpowering to smell anything else along the corridor.
Shrugging, you move away from Swift, who studies your leaving with curiosity - Sniff and run? This is new... she thinks to herself. Stopping at the northern bridge, you check to see if it is likely to suffer a fate similar to Naivara's experience. Unlike the southern counter-part, this bridge is sturdy enough, should you cross one at a time.
@ Virran - Looking into the chasm, you are surprised to see Naivara suddenly behind you as she offers Brandywise his thrown axe. You shake your head, maybe there is more to this cavern than simply a death hole? You wander next over to Swift, who is oddly studying a departing Night Hawke. Without questioning, you offer her the torch before running toward the crevasse and leaping over.
Peering into the corridor, you notice no signs of detection. Either you were not overheard, or you can not detect more from this current vantage point. The corridors are well-lit, straight and narrow - the ability to remain unseen beyond this point is almost impossible.
