The Exploits of Misfit Company

Vastra snaps her fingers. "I knew I should've made a flashcard for Kashasaurus so that she knows not to eat Courage."

Kasha then reverted back to her half elven form, Obsidian leaping off of her, still with his perturbed look.

Courage rolls his eyes at the cat. "Oh don't give me that look. How do you think I lost this?" He holds out his arm, and at a thought had the plates retract down to the nub that was left of his upper arm. "And no offense. But this was for someone that I was far more closer to. So, you'll have to forgive me for not counting on Tymora's blessings a 2nd time and preferring to keep the rest of my limbs." He states plainly at the cat, before then looking to Kasha.

"For what it's worth, I do apologize young one." He said, snapping his fingers of his remaining hand and breaking the magic. "Mean no offense. But, as I was saying... been down that route one too many times. And if that's gonna be a thing, well... perhaps I should reconsider my positioning. Heh... Also, did you... well, I didn't quite catch it. But, do your remember eating that talking skull?"

When the battle ceased, Yvan does his usual breathing to end his rage and let the magics that had been effecting him fade. After having stowed away his sword, he looks to his hands, thinking back on the moment in which he did... something to give one of his strikes some extra power. 

However, he doesn’t dwell on it for long when he reverts back to his normal size and brings his attention towards Courage and the now back to normal Druid. He watches the exchange briefly before bringing his attention back towards the ‘loot’ a voice had spoke of... Who was that anyways? Yvan shrugged at the thought.

Since no one looked to have been moving to investigate said treasures, he does so quietly, all while listening in on the duo’s conversation.

Investigation, if needed: 19

Yvan: There is a bunch of treasure down there such as jewels and gold. There is also a suit of studded leather armor, a greatsword, a grimoire, two staves, and a mantle.

While Kasha hopefully continued to ponder or even look around for the skull, Courage would wander off a short ways to search among the scattered treasure everywhich way for it. If unable to find it, it is with some guilt that he began the process of collecting the jewel and coin with Souperb's help; accessing the jewels and counting the coin as it gets gradually piled into the group's bag of holding.

"Call me paranoid, but we may wish to have those--" He gestures over to Yvan's findings. "Identify before taking them out the hole. Wouldn't want to grab something cursed, if it can be helped."

Kasha snapped out of it, but had no idea what Courage was talking about. She looked at Obsidian, confused, as Courage spoke. When he was done, she didn't answer, and looked again to the cat, who rolled his eyes and shrugged. Kasha shrugged as well, and returned to her normal self, looking around. 

Vastra will identify the magic items. The greatsword is Cinderfall, the studded leather armor is the Armor of the Gales the grimoire is the Grimoire of the Divine Theurge, the mantle is a Mantle of Spell Resistance, the first staff is the Staff of the Elements, and the other is a Staff of Frost.

Absent however,  is the Sunstone.

Stella sighs. "We have a problem. Guess we need to do some more looking around."

"Well there was that skull a moment ago that could've had the clues we need... assuming, of course, they aren't too sore about all this." Courage said with a bit of mirth to his voice. "Though last I saw it, well-...." He glances back over to Kasha, then back to Stella with a shrug. "Here's hoping he's somewhere around here." With that, the tiefling reforms his arm, takes some strange concoction to boost his focus, and begins searching among the rest of the ruin for any signs of the talking skull with Souperb's help.

Perception: 30. (Using Flash of Genius as well. (2 of 4 remaining).

Kasha burps.

Alys would peek over Vastra's shoulder at the Grimoire. She'd point to it, "Do you want me to try Legend Lore on it?" She'd ask sheepishly.

Will cast Legend Lore if so.

Courage finishes his scanning of the area and just shrugs. "Can't say I'm one-hundred percent familiar with the ways of a true arcanist or the divine. So, I'll trust your judgement. Either way, I doubt we'll be leaving here all too soon. Still plenty to count up. Just let me know if you need my help, and I'll be sure to give it." He replies to Alys, then turns to others. "Meantime, I suppose who gets what. Though by all accounts, most seem, uh-..." He looks over everyone. "Pretty.. obvious.. heh. You all sure you weren't blessed by Tymora or some other god of fortune?" 

Yvan was glad nothing much came out of Kasha and Courage's conversation, and had agreed to the items being looked at closer to make sure they weren't cursed. He gives Vastra the space she needs to cast her spell to identify the objects, eyeing each of them cautiously until they were all revealed to be curse free. Carefully, he picks up the greatsword and stows it away, deciding it might be best to test it out later when Alys wasn't busy focused on casting a spell.

When Courage makes his remark, Yvan can't help but snort lightly. "Ask and you shall receive." 

Alys sees an image of the Sunstone resting in this tomb, under Xagibar's guard when one day, a large dragon with a jade-colored serpentine body and no wings flies down into the cave and claims it from Xagibar, who gives it freely. The dragon then flies far from this mountain, towards a tranquil lake hidden away somewhere. It then swallows the Sunstone and submerges itself in the lake. 

Alys would slowly blink out of her meditative state with the grimoire, her blue hues returning from a sea of white. As she came too, a small chuckle would leave her lips. “Much like our Kashasaurus ate our skull...” The elf would look up to the others. “A green dragon swallowed our Sunstone and submerged itself into a lake.” She’d pick herself up off the ground. “I suppose our next step is locating that lake.”

"A green? And it submerged itself in a lake?" Courage raises a skeptical brow. "While I'm not a dragon expert, that doesn't sound like typical green behavior. Though, they are a wily sort, from what little I can recall." He shrugs. "Eitherway, unless you have another spell in mind to help narrow down if the lake we're looking for is even on this continent, are we then heading back to that city to research and update our employer?"

"Now that I've seen the Sunstone and know a little more about it, perhaps I can prepare to locate object, or, alternatively, locate creature." Alys would offer in response to Courage's musings. "Of course, if we aren't within the spells range, I welcome a research session to get us closer." She'd add with a smile.

"Once everyone has claimed what they like, I can teleport us back to the palace and we can work from there."
