(I'm not trying to start shit back up, I just got the inspiration this morning and had to post it)
When Victor met the people that he would be assigned to live with in a Coterie, he couldn't help but think of how interesting this assortment of individuals was.
There was Sorrin, the vampire from Romania. Victor had to keep himself from cracking a joke and asking how Dracula was doing these days. Sorrin was about the same age as Victor's parents, which caused him to think about how old they were and how it had been 20 years since the last time he saw them. How had they fared over the years, thinking that their son was dead when he was really alive? Sorta.
Then there was Alana, who was about the same age as he was, which was honestly a relief. There was little love lost between him and the majority of his fellow Kindred and he found that the older they were, the more intolerable they were. Not only did he find them unbearably arrogant and clinging to outdated and occasionally abhorrent values, they were so out of touch when it came to culture and technology. Of course, he knew well enough to never express this sentiment out loud. He was genuinely curious on how she balanced being a club owner and aspiring singer with keeping the Masquerade up. He preferred to keep a low profile, but at the very least, her club would provide a place to satisfy his vices.
There was also Misha, whose tough exterior only served to make him more curious when he saw how devoted she was to Alessandra. Even as the years passed and the two of them became close friends, he never asked why she was devoted to her so much. And he never would. Their business was their business and he respected them enough to not ask questions about it like some jealous third wheel.
And then there was Alessandra. She was incredibly beautiful, but Victor could tell from her struggles with technology that she was much older than him. He offered his help in teaching her how to fit in better with modern society, which tried his patience as he was never much of a teacher, but she tried to be the best pupil she could and really was grateful for his assistance when his lessons were over.
As odd as they were, Victor found himself growing to love them all as the years went by.
