Urwin smiles at Meepo then speaks to the group, "I like your friends enthusiasm." To Olin, "Mmmm, the cantankerous old crow at the winery is unreliable. I don't think it's anything insidious, but who can say. He usually brings the wine to us, no one is missing. Anyway, showing me how you deal with the old fart there will tell me a bit about your character. Ask for Davian, though he's the owner, he shouldn't be hard to find."

For a moment Lionel looked as if he was about to go out and bust those stocks open right away. But he calmed down, obviously after coming to some decision.
Olin asked all necessary questions about future task (it looked like the group was accepting the deal, meaning, Lionel was accepting it as well) and Lionel added only one more: "Sure some of you were in the vineyard or near by just out of curiosity. What is so strange about it that you need additional help? Anything particular we have to expect?"
Urwin grimaces at lionels question. “You are insightful, I’ll give you that. Look, the grump who runs the place is my dad. We aren’t on speaking terms right now. He’s a pain in my arse. Just go arrange the wine delivery and you won’t need to worry anymore about my family affairs.”

Feeling like family is a touchy subject and not wanting to upset someone who has offered them help, Olin tries to get the group moving. "We should be on our way, friends. The afternoon is slipping toward evening already and I'd rather not be on the road here after dark. Meepo, let's go find that wine." With that, Olin heads toward the door.
On his way out of the inn, Olin notices the door has a small gash, likely from having a chair or mug thrown against it. As he exits he puts a hand on the injury and casts mending, making the door whole again.
(This is a test post to see if Albo gets notifications, but Olin really does it. The bartender doesn't even have to notice. Olin doesn't do it for the fame!)
Urwin nods, "Very well. Follow the main road west to Kresk. It's about five miles to the Raven River Crossroads. There's a sign there pointing southwest to the Wizard of Wines Winery. Another mile and a half from there is the Winery. Good luck dealing with that cantankerous lout."
Lionel, Meepo, Olin, Ismark, and Mordekai head out of the Inn and down the main street to the west. They pass by St. Andal's on their way. Inside, Ireena and Kane work with the priest. Kane's abrupt decision to stay behind went undisputed by the group. There was something in his eyes that told them not to question.
Two guards stand to one side allowing the group to slip out of the main gate onto the muddy road beyond. A few smaller building crouch by the side of the road outside the gate, half of them boarded up. They are all left behind after a few minutes of walking.
About twenty minutes on you cross over an old stone bridge that crosses a narrow river. The daytime is quiet out here, and you see no travellers on the road. Occasionally you spot the odd crow, otherwise the lands seems eerily quiet. The water is dark and runs quickly towards the north where it surely empties into the lake. Another five minutes later of walking and the road comes to an X intersection, with branches to the northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast. The lower half of a snapped wooden signpost thrusts upward at an angle near the eastern elbow of the intersection. The top half of the sign, featuring arms pointing in four directions, lies in the weeds nearby. It's clear that the old Svalich road continues southwest and lifting the top of the sign and aligning it with the pole confirms. Krezk and Tolenka Pass point to the southwest.
The road is fairly level but the ground to the right rises sharply into a wooded hill. The road seems to wind around the small mountain, this entire area is forested.
As you travel you begin to hear the howls of several wolves. You press on but the howls seem to be getting closer and closer. You come to place where a smaller road branches off to the left of the main road. It's unmarked and weaves off into the dark trees. The shadows of over a dozen wolves can be seen darting in amongst the woods, but they stay out of clear site. Growls and howls issue. You press on.
Eventually about another forty minutes later you come across another crossroads. You see a weatherworn signpost next to the road. The three arms of the sign point along the three branches of the road. The arm pointing north reads KREZK, and through the woods you can see an arching stone bridge spanning a river. The arm pointing east that you've just come from reads VALLAKI. The arm pointing southwest reads THE WIZARD OF WINES. The road slopes gently downward in that direction. The wolves seem to have left off about twenty minutes ago and are no longer following you.
The group heads southwest. After a half mile, the road becomes a muddy trail that meanders through the woods, descending gradually until the trees part, revealing a mist-shrouded meadow. The trail splits. One branch heads west into the valley, and the other leads south into dark woods. A wooden signpost at the intersection points west and reads, "Vineyard." A light drizzle begins to fall. Unpainted fences blindly follow the trail, which skirts north of a sprawling vineyard before bending south toward a stately building. The fog takes on ghostly forms as it swirls between the neatly tended rows of grapevines. Here and there, you see rope-handled half-barrels used for hauling grapes. North of the trail is a large stand of trees. A man wearing a dark cloak and cowl stands at the edge of the trees, beckoning you.

Lionel waved back and marched with the others to the cloaked figure and bowed his head slightly "Greetings, we are looking for the owner of the place - Davian. Can it be you per chance?"
Meepo started the day with his hood up, shielding his sensitive eyes as much as possible from the blue skies and sun. As the clouds came in, and the rain started, he shifted the hood back, liking the less bright daylight better. When they came up on the vineyard and the hooded figure, he moves on up with the new warrior and stands close by. "Meepo need find lost wine." He announces to the man. "Know where wine?"
As the group approaches, several other figures emerge from the woods nearby. You see several children, some women, and some others. The man at front who waved to you eyes you suspiciously then beckons you back away into the woods a bit, glancing around. "Aye, that's me, I'm Davian. This is my extended family. The wine isn't lost. The winery has been attacked by evil druids and blights, they've driven us out. Curse them. If the flow of wine dies in Barovia, I feel like any hope the people here have will die with it."
A young woman speaks up, "Dad, don't be so dramatic, it's wine."
A man next to her puts his hand on her wrist, "Dramatic or not, we're hiding in the woods and the rain like paupers for the past two days, while these druids and their cursed servants rule our winery." He looks pointedly at the group, glancing at weapons, "Can you help? We can guarantee some wine as reward, at a minimum."
Davian snorts, "Don't be so quick to give away what we don't have anymore boy."
He gives Davian a silent glare but says nothing more.

Having fought hags and vampires recently, Mordekai almost relishes the thought of taking on some druids and their servants. And the idea of some wine as a reward doesn't hurt, given the pervasive oppression of the mood across the whole land.
"We'll see what we can do, certainly. Do you know how many of them there are?"
"meepo ready..." Meepo says. He casts minor illusion making the sound of a dragon's roar. "Meepo fierce dragon." He tells the others with a toothy grin.
"This is what we are here for - to help. And as my friend said, any detail would make our task easier. Have to admit, the idea of druids fighting for the winery sounds ... amusing by itself."
"There were at least three druids. They had with them dozens of evil plant and tree like creatures. There must have been three or four dozen of the creatures....some small like the kobold there, some as big as a man."

"Something tells me, fire would be the most popular approach in this part of the world," could not help it but to note Lionel. "Are they all spread among the vines? Did they take house as well? With druids ... you never know, they could prefer an open air."
The man shakes his head, "No, not the vines, they attacked the winery itself. We don't know if they stayed put there or what...sadly...we thank you for your assistance, truly."
They draw a rough lay of the land, but the winery's layout seems pretty simple. There's a few small sheds about the property, and an outhouse, but otherwise the only building is the winery which has two floors and a cellar. It has a stable and a loading bay attached to the main building.
It's not long after that the group is seeing it with their own eyes. Situated in the midst of the vineyard, the winery is an old, two-story stone building with multiple entrances, thick ivy covering every wall, and iron fencing along its roofline. The trail ends at an open loading dock on the ground floor. A wooden stable of more recent construction is attached to the east side of the winery, next to the loading dock. West of the winery is a crumbling well and a wooden outhouse.
