Pizazz's Ravenloft and Beyond

     “And check under the mattresses,” ketch calls over to Meepo.  “That’s where I hide stuff...”

     A moment passes...

     “Umm, where I used to...  when I was little...  not any more!”  Ketch makes a mental note to find a new hiding spot.

Meepo opens his pack and uses the mage hand to lower the amulet into the bag, making sure not to touch it himself.  he then closes the pack and puts it back on.  Glancing around he decides it is not worth the likely dangers of doing too much more searching, but but cannot help but make sure there are no lost items laying about...  Perception: 14

"hrmpfh ulthan wear necklace hrmpfh"

Meepo from inside the crypt looks around.  It's as quiet as, and empty as a tomb it would seem. Meepo notes a few tufts of dust, and cobwebs, and the like, but otherwise it is really quite clean.

With a sigh, that seems somewhat disappointed, Meepo turns back to the stairs. "Rat go." He commands, sending his familiar up towards the light curtain. he wants to see what happens if Rat enters the curtain from this side.

Ketch tries holding a skeletons hand as it proceeds through the light, hopefully forming a long line, but then the skeleton reaches the curtain of light and vanishes and appears at the top of the stairs.  Ketch sighs with disappointment. ...but...then he thinks....maybe if..... 

Rat flies through the curtain without incident. Meepo follows shortly after, also without incident.  

Meepo opens the bag to show the group the discovered magical holy symbol.  

"A sun symbol. Lathander's sign? Here?" Lionel said it loud and pointedly enough to get his quiet passengers interested but was thinking himself too. After fiasco with Paladine he did not have high hopes for other god's help but anything holy could be useful here. "Can I see?" The dwarf extended his hand to grab the thing should Meepo allowed it.

"Meepo no touch." He informs them with a look that makes sure this is not to be under discussion. "Whom want just take and study you it." he holds up the pack, ready for anyone, anyone at all, to take the thing.

     Ketch will examine the thing from a step away, not intruding on Lionel doing the actual examination and inspection.  

     After a moment, he will try to walk through the barrier once more.  Perhaps it's a one way kind of door and now that it was exited out of it can not be entered into...  It was a stretch, he knew, but there had to be some way past this thing!

Ketch's experiments looked harmless enough (and equally .... impractical), so Lionel concentrated on the new toy ant picked up the symbol. "If this is just an expensive jewelry, I say we return it to the dead."

     Grumpy at his experiment once again not working (I presume), Ketch grumbles to Lionel to hold still a moment.  Ketch says a few muttered words, makes a couple movements of the Eye of Gruumsh he wears on a chain around his neck, and he casts Detect Magic so as to look over the trinket.

     Ketch will tell the party whatever he discovers, then wander around the catacombs searching for any other signs of magic that they may want to investigate...

Lionel can feel the energy pulsing through the thing. It's definitely not just pretty.  

Ketch appears at the top of the stairs, with a sigh. 

Indeed, the item is magical, as Ketch casts the spell. 

(School of magic?  And I detect anything else as I walk around for the full 10 minutes?)

The item gives off Evocation and Enchantment auras.  The rest of the group watches as Ketch casts his spell, looking at the magical item.  He looks at the magic curtain which gives off an aura of Conjuration. Satisfied, they then watch as he begins walking around. 

He walks down past 23 which apparently holds Mordekai's body, down past 29, which reads "Baron Eisglaze Druf". You detect a faint aura of magic coming from behind the door. 

     Ketch knocks on the door of tomb 29.  He looks it over and then knocks on it.  "Hello... Anyone home??"

     "There's something of interest in here, I think," He'll call out to the rest of the team.

"If the King's name is von Zharovich, I assume we indeed found "the mother"". Lionel was studying the new holy symbol thinking out loud and hopelessly trying to remember if he ever saw something like that before (Religion 5 ) when he heard Ketch's call. Well, it seemed the place was not so much as a graveyard but a treasure room of the castle too. Another crypt was worth an investigation (or too curious for his own good Ketch could need some help). The dwarf went to look at the new discovery.

(Nobody responds to the knocking at the door.)
