"Pāhū iā ʻoe" Ketch says next, once more sending two bubbling, popping, crackling orange blasts at the elf... Ketch gives a silent prayer to Gruumsh that they strike, to Dave face if nothing else. And if very thankful he shall be in melee range soon!

S4 is taken out by the wolves... Meepo has the skeletons again attack with thier weapons, then he has those not in combat with bats move away from the wolves, think that is just S5. i assume the wolves there are close enough together...
Meepo sends a fireball to blast those wolves. DC 15 dex save or take: 23 fire damage, half on a save. If S5 cannot get away, then Meepo sends the blast anyway.

Ulthan stabs one of the dire wolves and it collapses, dead on the ground. Then Lionels' mount smashes the other in the head, and Lionel catches it on a flank with his glowing blade. Still the thing lives.
The orange glowing "Ezz" thuds Rahadin in the head, then a blast hits him, and another from Mordekai, the pale elf cursing.
Back with the skeletons playing rear guard against the wolves, when the trailing skeleton tries to get away, no less than 4 wolves are on him to drag him down into the dirt and mud.
As the skeleton is dragged down, Meepo unleashes a fireball.....the roaring inferno ripping through the four remaining wolves. When the fire clears, four charred corpses remain smoking in the sizzling muck.
More bats are killed as arrows slice through them. Only two swarms remain trying to attack anything around them.

Ketch himself advances his thirty feet of movement and tries to spot the elf. "Pāhū iā ʻoe" Ketch says, spitting the words out, and sending forth two more blasts of Eldritch energy. The beams target the pallid coward, if visible. If Ketch cannot see him from this vantage then the beams blast the under coward, Strahd himself.

The man knew how to throw darts, Lionel had give him that - to get through the full plate from such distance, that was serious. The monster in a service of a monster also had to be put down, but vampire spawn was too close, only scared away by the sword. He allowed himself to move forward just enough that to keep Ulthan and Mordekai reachable and within deem light radius.
But he also feel dangerously weak and could not allow himself to perish just yet, not when the enemy was so close. Healing Hands for 20 points self.
Ketch comes around the corner. Thick, cold fog swirls in this courtyard. Sporadic flashes of lightning lance the weeping clouds overhead as thunder shakes the ground. Ancient barrels, stacked rotting crates, a pile of dirt, a broken down wagon, and areas of overgrown vines fill the inner courtyard. A quick glance around and Ketch doesn't see Rahadin, though the door to the gate tower is open a crack. Ketch fires his blasts at Strahd instead. The first blast at Strahd hits a glancing blow, while the second hits him solidly. He continues to have a stupid smile on his face.
Ezz sees Strahd and her emotions go ice cold...Ketch hears her say, "Here we go you undead piece of crap...." under her breath....and she charges Strahd as fast as she can.
Lionel turns and begins advancing, making sure to keep Mordekai and Ulthan in the light. As soon as he's 20 feet onto the bridge with his glowing light....Strahd acts.
Strahd raises his hands and a fireball flies from them, ripping right past Ezz, right past Ketch, and between the two tall gate towers which it momentarily bathes in orange light before streaking to the bridge and exploding in a ball of fire that erupts around Lionel, Ulthan and Mordekai. ( 34 Fire damage, DC 18 Dex save for half. ). Though the group was caught in the blast, they don't see to have been Strahd's primary target. He seems to have been waiting for Lionel specifically to reach the center of the bridge. The rickety boards of the drawbridge seem to have been his target and burnt and weakened from the magical inferno, they give way beneath Lionel's mount...and they begin falling through the surface....
Ulthan remembers the good old days as the fireball blasts him. Even if he survives he figures the collapse of the bridge would do him in. He wonders how his plan of scaling the side walls severely turned into front assault. That said he thinks of of his mountain and takes the blast like one. Save 15, reduction goliath -15 as he's falling he quickly eats his berries.
(Neither Mordekai, nor Ulthan are falling...the only person on the bridge was Lionel and his mount...your feet are solidly on the ground...on the far side of the crevice from Strahd's castle...)

(Where is Lionel at the moment? Is he further than 30ft from solid ground? I.e. out of his Misty Step range?). Never mind, just realised Lionel can fly if he needs to. Mordekai goes up to Ulthan, and says, "It's time to join the fun. And no turning back or running away today." With that, Mordekai casts Dimension Door to transport himself and Ulthan to the other side of the burned bridge, where Ketch and Ezz were on the map before they both moved. As he does so, he glances back to Meepo, hoping he'll be ok, but assuming Lionel can carry the kobold once he flies out of the chasm.
(Also, sneaky DM, sending Rahadin out to take Hex and flee before we can kill him, rendering Hex entirely wasted... well played)
(Oh, concentration save for Hex. DC10 having only taken 17 damage, right? And presumably with Lionel's +3 aura, given that we were within the same fireball blast. If not, take 3 off the result: 8

Pffft run away thinks Ulthan, called strategic retreat which would have been done had minions been around last time, but sneaky Strahd hid them all leaving us to believe there's no one in the castle. That said guess might as well die this side of the bridge then the other side, so he lets the spell drag him along. Luckily flame cauterized all wounds, though unfortunately now in greater pain so there's that. Still not sure about the suicide mission we seem to be on. He's going to stay close to the dwarf (once dwarf gets to this side), so bow if people too far, melee if in range. Primary Rah, secondary Stra, tertiary anything that tries to take the dwarf down. If ranged then Stra does not become secondary, I'll skip over him for now and hit tertiary target and if no one attacking dwarf then anyone in range on the other side of the bridge. If melee then he switches hands putting sword as primary.
