"hrmpfh Utazo friend no pet got job pay well go now hrmpfh" Ulthan speaks plainly while scratching the big cat behind their ear, his permanent scowl not really shifting upon seeing the return of the not dwarf. But as always he seems more than ready to get a move on from this inn.
Shiny smile on Lionel's face did not dimmed even a little. "I'd say a day of walking leaves even the best of us," he slightly nodded to half-orc, "to desire more in the smell department. But would not deny particularity of the dwarven aroma either. And yes, this is myself again. Believe it or not, but when I was young,"(Lionel does not look a day older his 22), "I disliked many of the features I posses. Nothing teaches us to better appreciate what we have than when we loose it."
He ate and drank with the appetite of a healthy young man after a day of fasting, not ignoring the world outside, though. "If I translated Ulthan's words correctly, you already found some employer for our group? Come to think of it, The Great Wizard was right about opportunities and interesting discoveries to be made around here. I think I might like to explore a bit before heading back. There are outer planes - reachable from here that... I might want to visit". Lionel did not explain why, but looked like he was really into the idea. "Anyway, ready to go wherever you need us to, except, first I would need to find something to wear - and adjust the armor too. We wanted to visit that Market Ward anyway, right? May be we can begin with that?"
"I'd echo both Meepo and Lionel's sentiments about being keen to explore some opportunities here. Besides, where is "back"? None of us are actually from the same place, we met in Barovia, and that's the one place I'm sure we don't want to go back to! Ulthan is right, that lizard man over there has a potential job for us. Shall we find out more details while we're here?"
Mordekai tries to catch the eye of the lizard man to beckon him back over. (He's still here, right? He approached us when we came down this morning, and went back to his booth while we waited for Lionel?)
The Lizard man is indeed still around. He approached in the morning....and it was not until noon that Lionel joined you. You all did get up and wander about, and had an opportunity to look around, but since you were waiting for Lionel, I presume you didn't go too far.
Mordekai catches his eye, and Yaddle approaches the group. He nods to Lionel, in way of greeting the newest addition to the group, "Yessss? Yaddle'sss job issss of interessst to you?"

Mordekai would've attuned to his new cloak in that time, then.
"Yes, the job is of interest. What else can you tell us? Did you say you had a client who could give us the details? Or are they more the anonymous type?"
He smiles broadly, "Well, firsssst...." he moves to sit down at your table, "...you mussst ssshare detailsss of yourssself. Abilitiesss, ssskillsss, prior accomplissshmentsss, sssuch that Yaddle may assssssessssss your fit for cccccertain typesss of jobsss." He moves his hand and the sound in the rest of the tavern fades away to nothing....though you can still hear yourselves. "There, we have privacccccy now. If you are a fit, then I will sssset up a meeting with the client, sssso that they may exxxxxplain the detailsssss."
"Me parlayed with a mad wizard and came out on the better end of the deal. We snuck under an angel's nose and stole what we wanted and talked our way out of it when cornered. We made werewolves our prey, we slaughtered the Burgermeister in front of his wife, framed her son for the crime, and ended up with her thanking us for getting her son reborn," Ketch says, struggling to recall all the details but also not caring if he got some wrong. "We faced the dread vampire Strahd, several times. The final time was indeed the final time for that piece of crap will be rising no more. And that was just on the way here..."
Ketch takes a long drink and then puts his tankard down, drained. He leans back and gives a little bit of a shrug and he stretches his arms out along the backrest. "We're fit enough for what ya have in mind..."
"What my friend meant to say here,"joined Lionel the conversation, "is that we did help to free a realm of dread from it's master - an ancient vampire". The euphoria from being restored have not faded yet and he smiled to the lizard as if to the dear friend. "But I don't believe we have being introduced, though you seemed to know my friends already. I am Lionel. Like Ulthan over there, I am more accustomed to fight using my strength and weapons. Mordekai and Meepo are our magically inclined part of the group, and Ketch in addition to fighting whatever can be fought, often saves us with his healing talents. As you can see, the group is well balanced and capable to handle quite different situations - from simple direct approaches up to the most delicate one."At the moment the idea of any shadiness in the potential business did not even cross Lionel's mind, he was simply introducing the group to the nice friendly local.

Meepo would get bored with all of the waiting around. As always, when bored, he starts to look for anything that is likely lost, or might soon get lost. perception: 11 Sleight of hand: 12
When the lizardman comes over Meepo frowns at him, wondering if he is some big kobold or what, but then realizes he is lizard not dragon and shrugs. "Meepo great and fearless dragon." Meepo says to the lizardman, but does not make the sound of the dragons' roar. he is a bit confused as to why the little Bigs laughed at him before, so is a little hesitant to use that trick just now. "Meepo wizard..." He holds up his ice staff to show it to the lizardman. "Meepo need find skeletons, then Meepo have more help."
For the first time in the past few weeks, it almost looks like Ulthan broke out of his scowl and nearly laughed when the word "delicate" was spoken. Nonetheless while group is mulling over things he again says "hrmpfh portal place hrmpfh".
Yaddle nods, clearly impressed, though shrewdly attempting to guess how much of this is bluster....but it seems he decides to believe your amazing stories, or at least is desperate enough for a group that he's willing to maintain the delusion. You guys look over at Meepo. Somehow during the morning long meal he's gathered a small horde of 'lost' items next to him, including a single drake-skin glove, a cobra-shaped earrings, a plush orcus toy, an onyx comb, a jar of dried seeds, a vial of yellowish liquid labeled "orc sweat", a hollowed out unicorn horn, and a full sized set of 4-point buck deer antlers mounted on a wooden plaque.
Yaddle stops and looks at the pile of stuff near the kobold who is looking in another direction paying no heed to the conversation. Yaddle scratches his head, clearly a bit befuddled how the deer antlers arrived at the table without his notice. He shrugs and turns back to the group.
"Very well, if you're willing, then please, have your tout bring you to #42424224 Lochness Alley, by 2 B.A.P....that's in ten hours....and my client will explain everything."
Assuming there are no questions, he stands up and heads off.
Everyone's eyes drift towards the pile of lost stuff, while trying not to stare....wondering if anyone is going to come looking for any of this stuff....
Lionel's smile became a touch (just a little) awkward for a moment, but once the lizardman was gone, returned to its shiny self. "Friend Meepo, you see that person over there?" (There had to be someone (or something - hard to tell in this place) at the counter admitting guests of the establishment) "they are here to collect lost items and truly appreciate when someone helps them to find those. What do you say if we bring there your collection?"
“If this is what he keeps on the table, what does he keep in his new hole?” Ketch wonders aloud to nobody in particular.
Before Yaddle leaves, Ketch will broach the subject of payment. “I don’t need a final figure, we’ll sort that out when we get the details... but a general idea would be helpful, so we know we’re not wasting our time...”
Meepo frowns at Lionel "Meepo not know..." he says with a glance to the person and back to Lionel. "Meepo found glove, that person about to lose..." He holds up the drake-skin glove. "Meepo saw ready fall out pocket, so Meepo save..." He looks to his collection. "Meepo rather take to store, where store find home for lost things..." He doesn't sound too confident in that decision, his eyes moving to Lionel and then back to the person indicated, then back to his pile. he finally sighs and fills his little arms with the lot, heading over to the person. "Meepo worry this lost." he says as he starts to tug on the pant leg of the person in question. "Meepo friend Lionel say you help..." He dumps the pile at the person's feet.
To help with potential misunderstanding (after all, it was Lionel, who directed Meepo there) the paladin joined his friend at the counter. "My friend has a very keen eye and that stuff was lying around our table."(Lionel did not specify the distance) "Hope you can return it to the people who lost it". Lionel's smile and confident, though polite manners were supposed to distract the person behind the counter from his peculiar dress (confidence is half the fashion - or even all of it!), he was ought to be believed.
The guy behind the bar looked up at Meepo. He glances at the stuff. The huge dragon carving on the wall behind him squirmed a bit, magically moving within the wall. Meepo noticed the eyes of the dragon carving near one end of the bar watching him intently. The bar tender seemed....less than uninterested in the pile of stuff. He picked up the glove and looked at it, then dropped it. "Uhhh, yeah, sure, I got a lost and found." He picks up a big wooden box from behind the bar that contained a bunch of other stuff, and with his arm sweeps the whole pile off the bar top and into the box. "There we go." He places the box behind the bar. It doesn't seem he recognizes the antlers from any particular place. He looks back up at Meepo and Lionel, "Anythin else?"
----------
Yaddle looks to Ketch, "I believe I ssssaid that the job paysss 5000 gold. Hopefully thisss issss sssufficcccient."
"Forgive me, I had other concerns when you first spoke... But yes, that's a number that could cover, well, some tasks..." Ketch says, trying his best to be diplomatic for once.
"See? Now everything is found." Lionel patted Meepo on the shoulder and nodded to the bartender. "No, that would be it. Unless... If someone found himself in need of fixing armour, where would you recommend to go?"He had a general idea now (the Market Ward, and Etain could knew a good spot) but who knows, another local could say something useful.
Meepo seems to curl in on himself a bit, his eyes on where the box of lost things was shoved away. He sidles closer to Lionel, looking worried and ill-at-ease. "If Lionel think that best..." He says in a tiny voice as he glances up to Lionel and then to the person behind the counter. His eyes flicker back to the location of the box, then away. "Meepo think box no home for lost things..." He says softly, but with no conviction or force behind it. Pulling his cloak around him a bit tighter, he dips his head, letting the hood put his face in darkness.
