Meepo's spell worked? The beholder is trapped? If so, Mordekai will say, "Let's go." He'll look the beholder in the eye, and then attempt again to touch the painting.
The beholder appears to be trapped...it's tough to say because the wall of force is invisible..but it's eye ray stalk did hit a wall between Meepo and it....
Mordekai touches the painting. And appears, standing next to Ketch who is examining the slime covered inside of the painting.
Quill is leaning on the back of the chaise and is saying, "Yes...i did....no, there's nothing....though..." he holds out his hands, "I have no hammer, so I didn't have a chance to try and really crack my way out of here. And...i didn't ruin the chaise cause, really, it's the only thing comfortable to sleep on. Oh, hello there. Lovely. Hopefully soon we'll all be stuck in here. I wonder what the air situation is....you know...air runs out...right?"

Meepo, the eye ball creature glares down at you and starts blasting you with rays.

The rays are all blasting off the inside of the wall of force though, doing nothing.
What else does Mordekai see in the few seconds he's got there before his next action, by the way? If he still has any room within his current turn (given that he only used movement, right? Or was going through the painting an action?), he'll say to Quill, "Nice to meet the real you. We're here to rescue you. And I don't think that Beholder is very happy about it."
Meepo, you can’t target a creature through a wall of force with a spell. (We can discuss this in the off thread but If you can proceed with this rule for now and choose another action please.)
There was not much that Lionel could do now, with the creature enveloped with protecting field. He contemplated for a moment the idea to teleport inside the improvised cage, but he could not guarantee the death of the creature and could die for nothing.
He tried one thing he could do - to fly above the sphere (sudden freedom of movement felt incredible!) and to press it down, helping himself with the wings. At least the thing will be at the attack level if gets out - Lionel was not going to the painting until everyone is safely on the other side. (If needed Athletics: 24)
"Meepo no know what do..." Meepo calls to Angel-man. "Go into painting, maybe Meepo and Angel-man get trapped with Meepo's other friends. If no go into painting, maybe beholder break free, or get free when spell ends." He wrings his little hands as he looks around. Giant-kin already ran away, as usual, so only Meepo and Angel-man here now. Mordekai had already gone into the painting. Meepo calls Rat to his side, at least having the familiar zombie tressym nearby.
"Ulthan has the dagger. While the beholder is trapped we need to get both - Ulthan and the dagger here. Can you keep this spell on? I'll go after Ulthan and try to bring him back. If you keep close to the painting and beholder gets free - you would be able to get through and hide with others. Then Ulthan and I will get to you too." The plan was not ... ideal, let's put it like this - to leave Meepo here with the trap as the only means to escape. But the dagger was needed and Lionel could reasonably hope to get it (he actually hoped to get the ranger too), while Meepo was the only one who could contain beholder. Thus, if nothing changed in the room, he was about to start his Ulthan chase.

The beholder continues blasting's rays from its eye stalks as they slam into the shield all around it. (as Meepo and Lionel discuss, aka using legendary actions during other peoples turns).
And continues blasting... at its action. 297. (lol) The rays all smashing into the wall of force without effect.
Meepo and Lionel's turn again. (Ulthan continues make a save to see if Fear ended last turn. If it did not, make a save to see if it's ends this turn. DC 16 wisdom).

Mordekai looks around. He's in a plain 30 foot by 30 foot room. There are no exits aside from a 'window' that is covered in a thick hard shell of slime. The only furniture here is a chaise, which Quill is leaning up against.
Mordekai and Ketch can take another action if they desire.
Ketch introduced Mordekai to Quill and then gives him a brief tour of the surroundings.
“It’s a cell,” Ketch grumbles. “Surely the beholder can come and go as they’re the one that trapped Quill in here... Not sure if cure will work here. The cure supposedly gets us out of that realm... not sure how it works in a different realm.”

Meepo moves to the painting, but does not touch it. He stands before it, holding his tressym zombie cat, though it stinks to all 9 hells, and watches the beholder.
"You did say to wait, but the angry beholder made things a little more urgent.
To Quill, Mordekai nods respectfully. "We heard you were in need of a rescue, and have come to rescue you. I presume you do not wish to remain trapped in this bizarre town of fake people, stuck behind this painting by this beholder? If not, my new heroic bard friend, all the help you could give would be appreciated. And if there is no assistance you can give from here, at least your compliance in your own rescue?"

Lionel went to search for Ulthan - to help with the removing Fear and to bring him too to the painting. Once they all back in the room (and Lionel had to admit, trapped beholder as a decoration was quite off-putting) the paladin looked for the false Quill. "I do not know who - or what are you, but you are not the owner of the house. Your "friend" trapped the real Quill behind that painting. If there is any ounce of free will in you - do the right thing and release true Quill."
That emotional speech might seem short, but considering circumstances - an angel with the sword and the wings asking to do the right thing - had to be dramatic and moving enough. At least Lionel hoped so: Persuasion: 12
Quill nods to Mordekai, "Indeed, I would be quite pleased to be rescued. Thank you. Who did you say sent the lot of you here to rescue me by the way?"

On his first turn feared, Ulthan ran out of the ballroom and half way through the entrance hall. A few people are cowering here or there in this room. On his second turn feared (this round), he runs all the way out of the entrance hall, out the front door, and into the yard.... then....as he suddenly comes to his senses, the fear washing away from him....and he realizes he's standing in the yard of the house. (2 rounds of running to get back to the ballroom).
Meepo sidles closer to the painting, and holds his disgusting rotting undead cat. Lionel is still flapping up near the ceiling. 4410
After Lionel and Meepo have moved, as Ulthan is coming to his senses outside, a green ray from the Beholder blasts the wall of force, and with sparkling deterioration, the wall fizzles away. The beholder blasts a ray at Lionel.
Lionel: Death Ray. The targeted creature must succeed on a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or take 55 (10d10)61necrotic damage. The target dies if the ray reduces it to 0 hit points.
Then we're back to Beholder's turn. Though, Lionel, even though you didn't announce one, if you want to have a readied action setup to trigger on the wall vanishing, you can. Let me know.
