(Over healed Mordy, didn't expect such a good first roll...  could move the last one on Mordy down to Meepo...)

"We do still have an army behind that wall there..."

"A good point. We can leave without a goodbye, of course, but they might need to know that the danger is over and they are free. Besides, Ulthan is somewhere out there too."

Meepo seemed to be fine again, but Lionel asked nevertheless. "How do you feel? How is your magic?" He picked up the magical quill. "Not sure if that thing still works but we better keep it away from too creative people of this realm. Makes a good memento too." Lionel shuffled glass shards with his boot searching for a small interestingly shaped one - that would be an interesting keepsake too - but eventually had to return to the practical matters. "Shall we knock or straith up teleport to the queen?"

Laffa crawls out of his hidey hole, giving Ketch the serious side eye and keeping clear of the orc. He waits to see what the group plans to do but does cast a spell on himself and looks around.  He sidles over next to the pile of ash that was Nintra and kicks at the ash until a small fragment of glass slides out.  He nods to the group meaningfully, "That chunk of glass seems magical."  He shrugs, "Just sayin." 

Meepo feels...back to normal!

((Ketch spends 5 rounds healing others so he'll let someone else grab the glass if they so choose...))

     "The army was trying to kill us, I see no reason to inform them of our victory," Ketch chimes in.  "They sealed the door rather than help."  Once he's done with the healing (assuming someone else has grabbed the glass) Ketch will steal a couple more random books from the library before just being ready to leave.  (Put him at about...  6 books taken.  I don't want to totally totally encumber him with them.)

"Meepo, do you want to check out the magical glass? Or have you had enough of this place and its magic?" (Mordekai can't Identify anything, but will take it and have a look if Meepo wants to avoid it)

Mordekai turn to Ketch, still disguised as the elf scout. "I could always put in a good word for us? And we should find out what's going on with Ulthan."

On that note, Mordekai pulls out his Tome and scribbles a quick message to Ulthan. "It's over. The Princess is dealt with, permanently. Where are you?"

"All true. And it is even fair - to a degree - to let them continue to live in fear for their cowardice and mistrust. But they will keep attacking strangers that wander to this plane, suspecting of attempts to free the princess. For the sake of innocent bystanders, I'd consider a parley." Lionel walked to the shard of glass Laffa dug out of the ashes. After taking some precaution he picked the shard up. "Don't tell me the Princess is inside. Though if she is... Would be a nice gift to the Queen."

     Ketch shrugs, continues stowing his new book bounty, then dons his shield and axe once again...  "Ok then, bring on the army..."

"Meepo feel... good." Meepo says with a smile. He feels the best he has felt in a long time, but worries he won't have as many snacks as he had before. The bugs that crawled around him were just amazing for him, a nice and constant food supply that seemed to never run out.

"Meepo look at shard." Meepo says, moving to it as Lionel picked it up. "Meepo try identify shard magic." He offers, asking Lionel if he can have it to look at it.

If given it Meepo will cast Identify on the shard of glass.

Of course, he could - before parting with a magical item it's better to know what it is. Just in case, Protection from Evil and Good is cast on Meppo before the shard is handed to him.

Meepo begins identifying the shard, but he doesn't get far into his 10 minute ritual. The battle lasted less than a minute, finishing the ritual, even less time. Gathering your wits and breath after took 30 second. It's less than another 2 minutes, maybe 5 overall before there is sudden and violent activity at the door. There is a grinding sound and the stone in the doorway collapses. Shadow fey elves rush into the space.....

Everyone roll initiative again (lol).  Also, you can each take your first round action as a surprise round, since there is some indication that something is about to happen. 

Lionel initiative: 3

"The Princess is dead!" roared Lionel before spells began to fly and attracting attention to himself from more squishy party members.

(this does not seem to stop them, they seem intent on harming you based on their looks...you can still take an action)

 Sorry, guys, I think it's one too many elves here after the hard enough fight.

"Everyone, come close we are getting out of here!" Once (hopefully) others get close enough to Lionel, he used the gift of the wizard to teleport the group (including Laffa) to where we entered the plane. Teleport

 Ketch walks over to Lionel and waits to be instructed to do so…

Mordekai initiative: 8

Mordekai also joins Lionel ready to teleport out.  "This could mean our next quest is to re-find Ulthan."

Meepo initiative: 8

Meepo is sad to leave all of his skeletons, their armor, and all of the books behind, but he moves to Lionel and waits for transport out of there.

((Personally think we should have surrendered and be rewarded as heroes once they figure out what we did but *shrug*))

We can try but " they seem intent on harming you"... so, I am not sure it will work. But we can return? :)

The group closes in on Lionel and Lionel concentrates briefly.  The world around the group twists and spirals inwards in an instant.  When it explodes outwards a fraction of a second later, they find themselves standing on a forest road, where they'd originally appeared in this world.  The birds tweet quietly, the underbrush rustles with some animal moving about, and a few leaves flutter along the path in the wind. It's warm, quiet, and peaceful.
