Skip would place his last 10 gold on the table. "Thanks! I will make good use of these spices! Maybe I can make you a meal sometime if you are interested!'" The halfling would say with a grin. Then looking over to Tibby, his face would sour just a little bit. "Now Tibby, This humble merchant has been very fair to us. Why don't you be nice" he would finish with a smile. "The sooner you finish your deal, the faster we get our recipe!" Skip would add as he claps his hands together and rubs them as though trying to start a fire.
(OOC: Hopefully he will tell Skip more about his spoon and what the potions are for.. Skip just thinks his spoon is able to light up and helps him to cast spells. He doesn't know anything about potions so hopefully the goblin will know :D)
"I think we all need a decent rest." Bree will chime in as they get settled into the building. She passes out left-overs from that afternoon's meal as she calls Scat to come and sit with her. The Tressym sits in her lap as she pulls out her spell book and looks through it for a while, studying her spells.
Xam takes a look at the potions, give them a sniff, and dips his finger in each to taste a drop...
" the three red potions are your standard healing variety. Very useful indeed. The green one I am afraid was intended to be the same, but is a failed recipe. Probably one of the ingredients was past its prime. What ever you do, do not drink that one. Maybe give it to somebody you dislike, eh? Haha.."
"I uhh... hope you read the fine print on that contract." Skip would say raising a burly eyebrow. "I have nothing but the highest respect for our new friend Xam here but I wouldn't want to accidentally break a contract that I signed with blood because I didn't read it carefully enough.." The halfling would add with a look of concern.
He sketches down the directions from Falcon on a sheet of paper and hands it to his gnomish scribe Harir. The short man takes it, frowning, but says little. It disappears into a set of scroll cases hanging on knotted rope from his belt, copper inlay and dark wood clinking together with a pleasant sound.
"Is there any point to this?" The gnome says.
I must fly him or he'll reject the hood, Daishi thinks. "You should travel in back with the others. There are things to learn, even in the forest. This is Anyll's domain. He may have stories."
The only one that will know where we are is Falcon, and he'll be traveling. I like this course we take, seems the safest of all of them.
Along with Anyll, Ashe, and his retainers, Daishi will set out at a comfortable pace. The fighter takes in the scenery of the forest, alert for game out of long practice. He knows that this retinue will lay low if there is any trouble and stay out of the fight. His familiar is absent, tucked away in its own dimension until needed.

Odyssey | Daishi Longguard | Human | Healthy | Perception: 13 | Equipped: old leather armor, green cloak, fine clothes, signet ring | Wielding: shortsword, shield | map
Anyll stretching as stands from breakfast. He remains curious to Daishi's response, but his brow deepens as it's clear with his words things have taken a turn, but not with the smile.
The half-elf attempts follows suit, "Then there is time. To clear your name, regain a knighthood or to perhaps bring honour to one's family name." Quickly hearing himself, he takes his leave and waits just outside.
Anyll has always wanted true family. Matron Palyr was caring and shared her wisdom often, but not as warm as mothers he's seen on brief provision trips to town. Anyll often wondered about having siblings, cousins, great-aunts and such.
Anyll's thoughts rapidly fall; not once did ever think they could be taken away... And knowing very well how cruel nature can be, how easily it could done. He grasps his satchel as he paces waiting for all to get ready. He flashes Ashe a smile at their arrival, but remains quiet. Even when a gnome comes clinking his way...
Anyll follows with the group, his mind among the darker clouds of imagination. Not so much to ignore his surrounding however, and answers any questions the gnome has briefly and doesn't return any at this time.
Grabbing a strand of her hair and cutting off a lock with her dagger, Yess looks around, feeling uncomfortable. Handing the lock to the Goblin shop keeper, "How will I know what the ring does".
" after wearing it for a time it should reveal itself to you. I only know you need it, it might not have any intrinsic power at all, it may be a key, a sign or something else entirely. Since you are going to the Shrine of Savras, the God of divination and fortune telling, younmay get some answers there. Good luck my lady" Xam says with a flourish.
@ Skip
" and now to conclude our transaction, let's see your receipt so I may get you the proper recipe. Ah, this order was for the lady Adarra, a talented potion maker. Are you related to her?" Xam asks.
Skip would lower his eyes and remove his hat. "I'll be honest with you. We had originally taking a job asking to escort lady Adarra back into town to keep her save from the dragon that has been reported around these parts..." He would say holding his had in both hands. "but when we got there.. she was dead. There were bodies all around that appeared to have been stabbed with long pointy barbs and a large dead beast nearby as well. It had wings and was furry looked pretty dangerous..." Skip would add as his eyes rise to meet the goblins. "we found this receipt after burying her body near the mill... I had hoped that maybe I could use the recipe she paid for to help others.. the same way she used her potions to help those in need.." Skip would say as he gestures to the healing potions on the table.
" ah, I see..a shame. The beast you speak of was a manticore. It was giving her lots of trouble since that white dragon post Cryovain forced it out of its lair. The recipe was related to that creature."
Xam reaches into a seemingly endless pocket inside his cloak and finally produces a single folded sheet of parchment. " Mushroom and Manticore Stew: by world famous adventurer Donkee Hoetay. To be honest, it is largely a RIP off of a recipe by a Wizard named Abernath the infernal, with a few tweaks by Mr Hoetay. It's really quite a spectacular recipe, though the ingredients tend to fight back. As the lady Adarra found out. I wish you well and may your purchases see you to good fortunes. I will have a deposit box set outside this building for the key for Mr Tibby's task. A pleasure doing business with you fine folks"
Xam opens his cloak wide and the entire stores contents flow into it, as if everything was made of smoke. Then he himself folds into the cloak and is gone in a moment. Your are all standing in an empty former general store filled with dust and you now realize it has gotten dark while you were busy. A thick fog has filled the streets and you decide you might as well stay put for the evening an prepare for tomorrow's quest.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Skip would excitedly take the recipe but his face would fall a bit as Xam describes the ingrediants. "We didn't take any of the manticore meat and well... I am sure it is spoiled now... It already smelled foul and that was over a day ago.." The small chef would say as pulls what appears to be a recipe book from his bag and slides the new page inside. "Thanks though... I will try to put this to good use" Skip would add as he tries to hide his disappointment behind a large smile, placing the herb gathering books and supplies back into his bag.
As everything disappears before his eyes, Skip would take a step backwards after grabbing the four potions from the counter seconds before it vanished into a cloud of smoke. "Oh.. well... Why don't you each pick one of these potions and then I guess we should setup camp..." He would add looking to the others. The hardy halfling wearing fine clothes, a thick leather apron covering most of his body, and a chefs hat would then begin looking around for someplace a bit off the road to setup camp in an attempt to avoid any unwanted attention...
Survival? 22
(OOC: It was three potions of healing and one potion that is bad and would likely hurt whoever drinks it..) (OOC: I purposely described him as not looking like he was one that would know how to camp very well and uhh.. the roll matched that description lol!)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC: You are right, I am dumb and didn't read the last part of the post so I thought the whole store disappeared and we were just standing in the dark :D Skip would definitally just try to setup camp in the empty store.)
Once they were in the dark room, Skip would tap his spoon on the table as light from his spoon begins to fill the room. Skip would then turn and point his spoon towards Tibby's eating utensil and cast light so that it shines brightly as well. "Well... who here is hungry?!" He would ask with a smile. "We cannot go to sleep without dinner... I brought some ingredients with me... Maybe i can substitue a few things and make that new recipe work... If not I can try to cook up some simple meat... This new seasoning is amazing!" He would continue as he begins collecting bits of wood for a fire within the abandoned building. If there was no place to have a fire inside, he would make a fire directly outside the front door for cooking.
Cooking! 8 plus 4 (Rolling a second cooking roll in case anyone helps 9)
After Skip finishes his meal he would give it a taste and happily lick his lips. "Yes.. this will do nicely.. eat up everyone! You will need your strength for tomorrow.." He would add before putting the soup into a few of his bowls and handing them out.. He would then get ready for bed.
Perzy'S will have taken the first scouting mission in town.
Throught the dense fog, it was hard to see anything more then a foot or two in front of him. After rounding a corner lot, he caught a glimpse of some light coming through the fog, as he got closer he could make out a strange flashing sign and then suddenly the sign and lights disappeared . After a few moments he crept forward and caught a fainter light in the building, which now appears to have once been a supply market. He catches the faint smell of something delicious being cooked. Clearly not orcs within, as they are not known for their fine culinary skills. He is fairly certain they haven't noticed him so he retreats back to his building to report to the others about the others and to wait for the fog to lessen before scouting the shrine.
"What brought you here Anyll? Have you always lived in this part of the forest, or was there a reason?" Daishi has grabbed a large branch that has fallen from a tree, and pokes at the undergrowth as they walk. His hood is down, resting on the back of his neck and the green traveling cloak is open.
"Have you ever been to Waterdeep?"
Ahead, the path seems to split, and he hesitates while looking at both directions.

Jaeson had been fairly quiet for the most part, but what else was new? He at least had an object to distract him now, in his amulet, and wasn't just brooding for brooding's sake. A gift from....him. As soon as Jaeson had heard that, he had become rather obsessive over the thing, holding it in his hand and staring at it, studying it, poring over every little detail.

Jaeson would look over the amulet until it was dinner time. At that time, he pocketed the amulet, and ate. He happily gulped down the helping of what Skip was serving. "Hmhm, I could get used to travelling with you, friend." Jaeson mused gratefully, as he readied himself for sleep.

(Not sure how tressym ability to detect invisible things works in the fog...)
