Acid and steel finished the madman B1, but B3 was still fighting. Another bandit (B2) was still attacking the crowd of refugees in front of him and could not help (the crowd, realizing help has arrived doubled down on the assaulter) - B3 was on his own. Hard to say whether he understood it, but the man did not even try to surrender, instead he tried to divide his attacks between those with weapons he could see:
Scimitar vs Ordrag: Attack: 9 Damage: 5
Scimitar vs Adray: Attack: 18 Damage: 9
Dagger vs Fran: Attack: 15 Damage: 4
As expected (considering circumstances) all attacks missed the targets.
It was that moment when you could hear shouts from behind - where Lulu, kids and dwarves were waiting - and choir could see new attackers: a merregon with a mangy pair of hell hounds.
"BAD DOG! BAD DOG!" Choir shouts, running back to take a whack at one of the hounds with her Mace of Light.
Attack: 9 Damage: 5

Bringing kids right now was not possible - the hounds and the devil attacked from that direction, and going around would mean the risk to run into another devil party.
Yes, between Polly and Adray the already wounded B2 had no chance. And people behind him just begun praising the heroes, when Choir made her battle cry ("Bad dog!") and absolutely fearlessly attacked the fiend. It hit, and so did the Brutuse's bite. But the situation was dangerous.
Harkina tried to shoot the only hellhound she could see: Attack: 9 Damage: 8
Velcora sent a bolt of a radian energy at the monster: 2 and whispered a few words pointing at Choir (kenku recognized the feeling of a Sanctuary on herself)
The dwarf in front threw an axe at it: Attack: 21 Damage: 5

The holy light did not harm fiend, but weapon did. Still, the hound stand. It could be even a good thing - to an extend - because the massive body of that hellhound did not allow another one - or their master, to come closer. However, the creature could still attack. Ignoring Choir, hellhound turned to Brutus and Dwarves and breathed out fire: 20

Drops of hot metal dripped from Brutus' "skin" as well as from the armour of a dwarf in front of the group. Both were terribly injured, but for Velcora that fire was too much - she died almost instantly, shielding those behind her.
Another hound tried to reach Brutus over the comrade monstrosity and bite him: Attack: 17 Damage: 7 and managed to do so, leaving the construct barely standing (literally on his last leg).

Things look grim....casting it to one side, so as not to hit Brutus, Choir hits the two hellhounds with a third-level Thunderwave. Unless they save for half damage, they take 11 thunder damage and are knocked back ten feet

("No" to both for Fran - she can heal only one (plus Brutus' attack) and for the next round spell (even Cantrip) counts for the full action, so either a spell, or a dagger x 2 attacks)
If hellhounds could be surprised - now would be the time, as both watched practically destroyed metal dog reassembling itself.
Crafty Tempest Cleric showed her skill, manipulating the sound-wave in a way, to miss recovering Brutus. Saves H1 11, H2 10
Hounds could not be moved all 10ft - the Devil behind stopped them, but were pushed (one square) away from Choir.
(Ugh. I fear I'll never figure this out. What a pain I am. Alright. Then cancel her attacks. We'll go with her 'first two' original actions. She'll patch Ordrag up the one round, Adray the second. And she won't move. To allow the others to move by her to do something.)

When you're at the bow it's a bit hard to help at the stern. Better to do a good job where you are, Ordrag thinks. To Adray he says: I'll guard this side! and then will run further into H16 and ensure the way is clear for the people there to escape into the tunnels.
Move 30' toward the 'S' Perception15 to check for any threats, in as much of H16 as he can see.
If no visible threats, then use action to Dash into the north corridor to guard that passage
(Oops, I see Fran's actions updated while I was posting. Never mind, should still be okay. I'll take the healing then continue with the above.)
(If the hounds are pushed back, then perhaps the civilians can pass now. Might take one OA from the hound, but probably worth it)
(Aww, I was kind of hoping they'd knock the devil over.)

The push was strong, but did not sent creatures hurling across the floor, and the devil's mass was enough to stop them.
Meanwhile, Adray feels much better now (healed completely), Ordrag is healthier too. Now, the interesting thing Ordrag noticed, is the the secret door to the runnel is actually opened, yet, people do not go in there. In fact, some a just standing inside the tunnel, not moving. The crowd is mixture of clerics and all kind of citizens, most of the non-combatants in any way. Some of those who are - laying down dead of patching their wounds now.
The northern path to the room is watched too, but people gave room to the fighter. So far it is quiet, but you never know.
