The moment Tormentor got close enough (the zapping machine ignored the group completely) Lulu indeed flew up to the Unicorn. Now you could see the creature in all is glory (or what was left of it). The magnificent creature curled on the bottom of the sphere, and light, that was coming out of him seemed not so much flowing as sucked out by the foul magic.
You could see the Unicorn raising his head - probably Lulu was talking to him - but after a while he returned into his sad quite desperation.
While Lulu was talking to the creature, you could observe the contraption. It looks quite rusty and breakable, but there is something else worth or note near by - a flock imps, not attacking, but watching the group intently and silently.
Lulu flew back and explained the situation: the Unicorn (his name is Mooncolor) was caught years ago and left in the sphere, that all his magic is unable to break. The contraption is guarded by a Dao - Ralzala, with helpers, yet, he heard that Dao to complain about that assignment. Not that it matter for Mooncolor, though. By now he does not expect to live much longer.
You do not see any Dao around (you even know how one looks like) but if "helpers" are imps, it has to be near by.
"Right, so we are helping it right. So, we can go with weapons slinging and try and break this thing or yell at the imps to get the master and make a threat or deals," Adray says to the group.
While the company was discussing the next course of action, near the boulder with the imps flock on it, appeared, or better say, raised from the ground like a mermaid raises from the water - a massive humanoid figure in bright clothes, covered in glittering gems and jewels and carrying a huge maul in it's very impressive hands. The figure did not approach, but you got a feeling it would not take long for the ... whoever it was to reach the group.
(When we say massive, are we talking massive compared to other humanoid figures or massive compared to the landscape? Like Goliath big of like Godzilla big?)
Polly "Eeeks!" and begins patting her pouches and pockets and such making sure she has her components an such all readied.
Ordrag isn't sure whether Adray is going to swerve around it, ram it, or stop short, but he prepares to fire another harpoon just in case.
(If this was a sailing ship, they would either swerve around it or attack it... but in this case, since the creature isn't approaching, Ordrag hopes they stop)

Adray stops a respectful distance from the creature and device. He keeps the vehicle running and calls out. "Hello? Anyone up there to talk with?" He is full prepared to slam on the go pedals to dodge an attack.
Choir's eyes widen at the creature's appearance. "Sparkly," she whispers with reverence. But she fingers her mace...

The massive figure suddenly flew up a bit - like a small rain cloud wrapped into scarlet-yellow-chocolate silk - and float closer. At this distance figure resembled a human, made of basalt. Charcoal-black eyes looked coldly each of you over (staying longer on Lulu), giving an unpleasant feeling of a buyer on the market checking out the goods, and then crudly shaped lips moved and creature made a few booming sounds. Frowned, not noticing understanding, snapped it's fingers and said in Common (though lip sync definitely needed some work): "And who would you be? New gang? Have not had visitors for years. Any news on the planes?"
"Umm, we're just visiting... " Polly says with a swallow. "What kind of new you looking for? From which plane? We could probably tell you some stuff if you told us stuff back? Right guys?"
Fran could only blink a few times as this new figure would approach. She wasn’t really sure what to make of it. All she could do was glance between Lulu, where Mooncolour is and the new figure who approached. Not being known for talking, the redhead was glad for Polly’s pipe up. But that wouldn’t stop her from puffing out her chest and trying to stand tall. “Yeh. Passin’ through. Hard not teh miss yer laser show.”
"These planes," the dao (it was obviously the dao) waved the maul towards the hellscape. "That machine looks like Maggie's. Is she still kicking and selling them or did you steal it and now passing through with her on your heals? Would not mind a visit. Can talk to you for now, though."
As eager for conversation as Ralzala was, Fran's words made the giant face twitch, though. "Not bad for a weapon in the middle of nowhere, true. Can not let you take too close of a look, though. Orders are orders. But I take it you are going farther? Where to?"
And to answer his question, she repeats, in Mad Maggie's voice, "Now let me show you your machine. We call that thingsTormentor. Fast, can carry a good crew, can fight back when you are attacked. Because you will be attacked. My crew is only one of many and we do not like each other much. Strangers are liked even less, but they can be used in so many interesting ways. Anyway, this is your machine."

Ordrag relaxes a bit as he realises the dao isn't about to attack. It's just doing it's job, just guarding. Ordrag respects that. He also respects the huge hammer, so he doesn't take his hands off the harpoon gun just yet.

"Orders from Zariel, of course, who else can it be?" Ralzala did not sound very excited about the fact.
"No visit then. But you must have given her quite something for this machine. I wonder what." The booming voice did not sound too disappointed. Dao moved a bit closer and sniffer the air. "You smell fresh... Such a sweet smell... So, freshlings, where from and where to?"
“Do we want to be telling him thing?” Polly tries to ask in a hushed voice but her nervousness allowed it to come out louder than she intended. “Knowledge is power, we shouldn’t just be telling him stuff for free... should we?”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Not excited about following orders, but doing so anyway... Ordrag has seen this before, many times, on the ship. Sailors would follow the letter of the law, while allowing other indulgences because they didn't technically break orders. Like Four-Finger Sven who was ordered to guard the door to the rum casks, but happily let the lads rappel in through the porthole, and even held the rope. Ordrag is also impressed with the dao's apparent frankness, which is in contrast to the conniving and deceit that seems to abound in every other denizen of this place. Hearing Polly's question spurs him to voice the idea in his head...
Zariel sucked a whole city into hell. Us is here to get her to put it back. Mad Maggie is on board with that.
Ordrag figures Elturel is probably general knowledge around here anyway. The rest is a gambit on the chance the dao won't prevent them from 'climbing through the porthole' to stop Zariel, and might even help them, all while still following orders.

"Oh, that she did," the notion seemed to both please and sadden dao, and Ordrag has an impression, it's not from the sympathy to the city. Then creature looked at Ordrag very attentively: "Do not think Maggie is going to help you in any way. Would not stop you either, I guess. Your fight against Zariel? Would be hilarious to watch. Not long, but very, very funny. Do not wish you luck, since I do not believe in your success, but do try. And closer to this place, if you do not mind - would like to get such entertainment."
With agreement, Adray continues to move towards the zapper.
